First Pacific Crossing- Completely Alone in the Pacific: California to Hawaii
Вставка
- Опубліковано 19 вер 2024
- This was our first Pacific crossing ever and we spent time completely alone in pacific. Sailing across the Pacific ocean in a sailboat from California to Hawaii is no easy task. Join us this week, as we depart from San Fran to begin the 2500nm sail to Hawaii across the pacific ocean. It sets in that we are truly alone in the pacific. With only two crew members, we must each solo sail when the other is sleeping and hand steer with no working autopilot. This is one action packed ocean crossing on our sailboat, Post Time. We hope you join in as we sail alone across an ocean together.

*I can watch these sailing videos whole day.*
I'm very relieved you're not alone out in the great Pacific Ocean. I think the loneliness factor plays a crucial role in very long sea trips. Apparently, your Mom is an experienced yachter, and the cute bird hitched a ride.
Brave warriors, happy sailing...
Your mom is the BEST! She has such a positive attitude and energy. Be thankful she supports you and enjoy each moment you can share with her.
Love it all! All sailors start somewhere! STAY WITH IT!😂
PIRATE!
Great video! Really neat to see the daily life on a journey like this.
Man just watching this made me feel slightly anxious. Safe sailing!
* bites fingernails aggressively *
Man finally got to stop burning so much fuel at the end of the video. Not gonna lie I did chuckle a little bit with you getting sea sick. As a retired Coastie I’ve seen many Navy sailors get sick when on smaller boats. Fair winds and following seas😊
Wait, aircraft carriers don’t prepare you for sailing? Hahahahaha agreed! Thanks for watching!
This video was SO AWESOME! Great content and editing. I love the raw ocean content…it makes u feel like u r there. So great that u and ur mom got to do this adventure together. Only thing that is missing is Natalia- I love that girl!
Thank you so much for watching- we are so glad you loved it! Natalia will be back soon enough...trust us! ;)
Great video ,thank you .Good luck and safety 🌊 ⛵️
Suggestion: it would be helpful for viewers to see "where" you are on a Map to reach your ultimate destination.
Equipage wise, you should, I believe, look at a dedicated generator. It will use less fuel than your main engine, have similar generating capacity with a smaller driver (since is not doing double duty as prop driver, and provide some power redundancy. Water maker would go with that, if you don’t already have one., so that water tankage isn’t a limitation. You chose one of the more challenging crossings for even an experienced sailor.
So let me see if I get the title to this vid correct. By “ALONE” you meant y’all are alone, not you are alone. Ok I got it. Just a misnomer. Great video btw
good luck and see u next week
Haven't made it to the end yet but died hearing a sentence I'd never expected to hear so casually....
"And Mom had a bird on her head"...
Causally said as if it was nothing at all... Still dying😂
Hahaha glad we could make you laugh today! 😊
Great episode.....great hearing your side of the sailing life ..... Glad your Mom got to go.....pretty ambitious to buy a boat and sail across an ocean........ good onyou
Good job. I know there is a lot of haters in the world. Not a easy task and you made some mistakes. Overall you did fantastic!!! Good luck and safe trip
Nice to have a boat that backs up right. I know when I went from the full keel Alberg to the Catalina that was one of the great perks!
Yes! Couldn’t agree with this more!
While the sea states were not bad I would like to see you get use to any time on deck be in a life jacket and clipped in when going forward practicing safety when things are nice become habit when things are ruff. Congrats on the new boat and may you have fair winds and following seas on your journeys.
What a awesome experience with your mom. Amazing memories
Rough seas lol I’ve seen 12ft swells in the bay.
Is that a Sheafer Maring Furler? Damn, I am jealous!
It is!!
Well done! Great commentary and camera work.
Thank you so much! Happy to hear you enjoyed part one of the movie!
Also I can’t believe a bird landed on ur moms head. That’s wild. First I’ve seen that on a crossing video
Not sure what is better...dolphins at the bow or a bird in the head lol
Is this guy Napoleon Dynamite's brother?
Why does it feel like they were like, "hey, y'all want to sail to Hawaii next week?"
Hi guys, Did I miss the introduction to your mother? A fantastic experience to share with her, sailing your first passage, Good luck with the rest of the sail but I'm sure you've made it, otherwise where did this video come from? ... Stay Safe & Fair Winds!! ☘
Mom must be camera shy. Respect her for taking on an ocean passage shakedown cruise adventure.
You need to learn to blue water sail. Spoiler alert, your uploading videos, so you made it!
No shakedown cruises prior to crossing pacific?
Why bother?
or really any sailing experience at all it seems. super dumb.
What date did they leave and what route did they take? Great video!
Hey guys,
Great video! I am down working in Honolulu for the next month and it would be cool to meet you two if you're interested. Been following since the beginning and loving the journey you two are on.
You haven’t mentioned what your destination is
Pearl Harbor, HI 🗺️📍
who’s we ?
I enjoyed the sailing!
Completely Alone in the Pacific....two people 🤦♂
Someone doesnt understand what alone means.
In the meantime it is clear. You want to ride the YT wave in the hope of not having to work and earn money. I recommend selling that boat quickly and looking for work on land, because this will end badly.
Lighten up, Bert. Everybody has to start somewhere. I see they have Jack lines so they probably have safety harnesses too. Yes, he needs to wear it. He has probably learned that lesson by now. To say he should sell his boat is overly harsh. Constructive criticism works better. For a first crossing, not that bad. They didn't die. Fair winds.
@@petermiller114 you don't start by crossing an ocean.
@@jdawkins111 This guy obviously has some sailing experience. His mistake was making 2500 mile offshore shakedown trip. He's posted several more vids since this one. Seems like he's getting it sorted out. Cheers.
