  • This was our first Pacific crossing ever and we spent time completely alone in pacific. Sailing across the Pacific ocean in a sailboat from California to Hawaii is no easy task. Join us this week, as we depart from San Fran to begin the 2500nm sail to Hawaii across the pacific ocean. It sets in that we are truly alone in the pacific. With only two crew members, we must each solo sail when the other is sleeping and hand steer with no working autopilot. This is one action packed ocean crossing on our sailboat, Post Time. We hope you join in as we sail alone across an ocean together.

    I'm very relieved you're not alone out in the great Pacific Ocean. I think the loneliness factor plays a crucial role in very long sea trips. Apparently, your Mom is an experienced yachter, and the cute bird hitched a ride.
    Brave warriors, happy sailing...

    Man finally got to stop burning so much fuel at the end of the video. Not gonna lie I did chuckle a little bit with you getting sea sick. As a retired Coastie I’ve seen many Navy sailors get sick when on smaller boats. Fair winds and following seas😊

    Suggestion: it would be helpful for viewers to see "where" you are on a Map to reach your ultimate destination.

    Equipage wise, you should, I believe, look at a dedicated generator. It will use less fuel than your main engine, have similar generating capacity with a smaller driver (since is not doing double duty as prop driver, and provide some power redundancy. Water maker would go with that, if you don’t already have one., so that water tankage isn’t a limitation. You chose one of the more challenging crossings for even an experienced sailor.

    So let me see if I get the title to this vid correct. By “ALONE” you meant y’all are alone, not you are alone. Ok I got it. Just a misnomer. Great video btw

    While the sea states were not bad I would like to see you get use to any time on deck be in a life jacket and clipped in when going forward practicing safety when things are nice become habit when things are ruff. Congrats on the new boat and may you have fair winds and following seas on your journeys.

    In the meantime it is clear. You want to ride the YT wave in the hope of not having to work and earn money. I recommend selling that boat quickly and looking for work on land, because this will end badly.

    • @petermiller114
      @petermiller114 6 місяців тому +1

      Lighten up, Bert. Everybody has to start somewhere. I see they have Jack lines so they probably have safety harnesses too. Yes, he needs to wear it. He has probably learned that lesson by now. To say he should sell his boat is overly harsh. Constructive criticism works better. For a first crossing, not that bad. They didn't die. Fair winds.

      @@jdawkins111 This guy obviously has some sailing experience. His mistake was making 2500 mile offshore shakedown trip. He's posted several more vids since this one. Seems like he's getting it sorted out. Cheers.
