I am not into rap, but I have come across a few of Macklemore and Ryan Lewis songs over the radio at which at the time I did not know who the artists were, but when it came together that it was the same artists performing those songs I just had to purchase the album which became a favorite of mine and my husband. We have not taken it out of the player in the car. Seeing this video here shows me how dedicated they are to their music and it is inspiration(their smiles and enthusiasm is contagious)

I met Ray Dalton about 10 years ago. He's a year younger than me. We were in the same Karate class for a few weeks when we were in middle school. My friend Marco is close friends with him and went to elementary school (Lawton Elementary). Small world. And I think Macklemore used to perform freestyle in Westlake Park from 2004-2010 with a DJ dude named BizzNuts.
Pre-Macklemore there was literally no rap songs I liked, originally found out about him through Can't Hold Us now I love this whole performance and I've got more to listen to
A true artist. He does not need to talk about sex or drugs and make his songs more about violence and bad words to be a rapper. He talks about life and connects with the people. This is true music.
