In my last year of university, when I was writing my thesis to finish my Masters in civil engineering I started to work. For 6 months I woke up everyday at 6 a.m. so I could accomplish the deadline. The way Macklemore performs is so cute. He raps and jumps around with smiles on his face so passionately. It's like he is immersed in the music, and to him there is only music at that moment. I don't see that a lot.

Think it’s the energy of it being the 1st live performance of the song...on the edge of completely blowing up and hanging from the rafters. We’ll see KEXP is currently gathering votes for best live performances. We’ll see what scores high. I’m sure all of these options will top the lists!

I like this version better than the official version. One thing is because of the extra choir at 3:25, and second the difference in the singing solo at 3:35, and third just because I like the rhythm better.

I can not wait for the return of live shows. Anybody who loves what they do this much deserves an audience. I feel the same thing every time I hear it - energy, pride, love, strength.
