Should they get all the flak they, get, probably not since some is generalized, but like doctors that have to help racists and enemies in war because of their oath to help, police have an oath for public protection they have to uphold regardless of their feelings or they need to be off the force. It's not the cops' fault that they don't respond to private property accidents. It's legislature, insurance companies and cities that don't want to deal with the millions of incidents on private property. There is a minimum $ amount, usually around 5k, that they WILL respond to report, also DUI or reckless. It's enough if each party reports it to their insurance because insurance companies have collision investigators that do exactly that - they look at the damage to each vehicle (yes, after the fact, but still) and ensure that it's consistent, then they match each persons testimony and determine who's at fault. Many times determining 50/50. Don't believe me? Ask an insurance company. They'll tell you MOST collisions occur on private property and MOST of those involve one of the vehicles backing up. People need to research more often to learn how things really work instead of just diving into the deep end of the cop-blaming pool.

    CA is really bad about things like this. Years ago, a woman hit our car & took off. We managed to cut off her exit on the other side of a fast food restaurant and a bicyclist who had seen the accident stopped her from backing up. The police came and after verifying with her that she had no insurance, let her go and told us there was nothing more he could do. When we questioned him about the no insurance law and it being a crime, he just stated again that there was nothing he could do. Our only recourse would have been to sue her and we could tell by the condition of her vehicle that she wouldn't be able to pay us. We ended up footing the whole bill for repairs and she got away scott free. I suppose if we had let her leave, they may have been able to arrest her for a hit and run but that wouldn't have changed anything for us. Their no insurance law does nothing to help someone who may be hit by an uninsured driver!! What a joke!

    My neighbor hit my car. He hid his car in his garage. Tracks led from my car to his garage. His taillight, and a piece of his bumper were left behind, so we knew it was a silver Audi, he owns a silver Audi. I told police he did it, and showed the parts, but he refused to open his garage. The police couldn’t force it, so I was out of luck. 3 days after it happened I saw him pulling his car out of the garage, and the damage matched. I took a picture, and video of the car. He put it back in his garage by the time police showed up, and even with the pictures they couldn’t do anything. He threatened me, and my family because we were persistent. About 20 minutes after he made the threats a friend of his showed up, and he came out with a handgun, and shot into the air before getting in the car. I was recording him. Because I had proof of him shooting a gun within city limits the police could actually do something. 7 cops were waiting when his friends brought him back to his house. They stopped him, and arrested for the gun charge. His mother came home while he was being arrested. She doesn’t live in the house full time, and I don’t know if she had a clue about what was going on. The supervisor from the PD pulled her aside and explained what was happening, then asked her if they owned a silver Audi, and if they could look in her garage. She let them look and they found the car. Even after all of that he got in no trouble for hitting the car, or hiding his and lying to police about it not being his car. We were told that the accident was on private property, and there was no witness so we couldn’t prove he was the driver. Insurance cut a check, and we went on with life. During the whole ordeal we found out he has 21 prior charges, and 5 are driving offenses. He’s 22 y/o.

      Let me explain exactly where your logic has broken down - you have confused something in the future which _could_ happen with something in the past that is definite.
      It's like me saying that the result of a dice roll will be higher than 2 - you could, quite rightly, say that it could be 1.
      If I say that I rolled a dice and that it was higher than 2 - you cannot say that it could be 1. The dice has already been rolled, it's result determined and thus cannot be changed no matter how likely or unlikely it's outcome.
      Likewise saying that other google results either before or after this one are unreliable has no bearing on the voracity of the data presented because unless you can say _for certain_ that all links on google searches are false, then you cannot say any one is, and neither is it a product of chance because the data has already been presented.
      If you wish to debate the validity of data you are welcome to do so, but you will need to produce conflicting data from an equally or more credible source to do so.
      Saying 'many google searches aren't correct' is like saying 'many people who flip a coin get tails' - it doesn't make any difference if my results come up heads.

      Police would have gone further and tested for paint transfer on both cars.

The word "DURANGO SLT" on the door...3. the V8 emblem on the fender as the reporter checks the damage...4. the lettering on the front tire....5. the words on the yellow package on the ground in front of the tire...just to mention a few. Although this video shows damage to the vehicle there is not a lot to show the front right area of the vehicle ..... maybe at 3:18 where there appears to be some scuffing of the bumper.

    • @eleven8948
      @eleven8948 6 років тому +3

      I work in the collision industry and when a car has had an impact on the bumper, the damage is exactly where the impact happened. I have never seen a bumper that was hit in the middle to have suffered damage on the right or left at low speeds such as this one. Higher speeds than 35mph may cause the bumper to shift and have damage, but it will not cause it to look like this and break a headlamp from the opposite side. The fact the bumper is plastic is irrelevant because they are made of strong polymers and are engineered to absorb the impact. You think they make bumpers out plastic water bottles?? The hit was clearly not in the middle at all, but on the passenger side of her truck. Look at the video closely and you will see exactly what I am talking about. Look at the facts and not your emotions. The real disturbing part is what you resort to after failing to make a point.

    • @eleven8948
      @eleven8948 6 років тому +1

      James seriously, you are completely missing point. I am not saying she is innocent at all by any means. The video shows she hit the passenger side, not the middle of her truck and if you look closely at her bumper on the right side from the news footage you can see there are marks. The damage on the drivers side is definintley from another impact and not this one. That is all. Im out

    • @eleven8948
      @eleven8948 6 років тому +3

      If you look at the news footage like I have been stating since the beginning you will see that both of the fog light holes in the front bumper are missing the plastic covers. Those fog light kits are not included in base models and are covered with plastic caps instead. AND THEY ARE BOTH MISSING!!! She hit with the passenger side and his car was hit on the drivers side. Its as CLEAR as it can be that it was NOT on her side nor the middle. You can keep trying to insult me but it does not change the facts. But keep telling yourself that the opposite side suffers all the damage. Whatever works for you.

      I am talking about the observed and documented fact that women often get away with crimes unpunished, and if they are punished, their punishment is very lenient compared to a man who commits the exact same crime.
      The hit&run driver was female, so police will typically refuse to chase her. Now if the hit&run driver had been an uneduated lower class man, especially if he was black or latino, then call police, because they will have most of the department chasing after him in no time.
