Here are 5 ways to curl your hair using African Hair Threading. You've already seen a couple on my channel and I decided that I might as well give a detailed instruction on how to curl hair with thread for those who have never done it before.

This was great! Thank you! I’m going to try it on my sisterlocks. I usually style using braids but I’m excited to try the threading for that corkscrew look.
This came out beautifully but seems so time consuming. I get similar results using flexi-rods or bantu knots and air drying. This is useful if you have to sleep while letting your hair dry.
Yeah, I always allow my hair to dry overnight, but I wouldn't do this if I was going under a dryer.
I love the reverse bantu knot, it's my favorite although all of them were beautiful!

I just tried this on my daughter's hair tonight and it works beautifully! She has box braids with purple yarn in her hair about midway down her back and I did not think the yarn would curl to be honest but this really really worked. THANK YOU HON!

Nope. You only need hot water with synthetic hair that is difficult to curl.

Hot water if it's synthetic. If it's human hair, I let it dry overnight.

What kinda thread did you use? The sewing thread appears to be to thin, and it was hard for me to take it out cause I couldn't get it off the ends.
I see what I did wrong. I knotted the ends instead.

How long did u leave them in?
I left them in overnight (8 hours). They were dry in less than half the time. Mousse dries quickly.
How long do the curls last?
It depends on the product that you use to set the curls. Anywhere from 3 days to a week is normal.
Can you do this with sister locks?
Wish it was 4c
This works on all textures. The thread will stretch and curl hair at once.

Does this work on human hair? Do you have to apply product or can you just skip it before wrapping it in thread? Don't like the hardness that mousse leaves on the hair
Yes, it works on human hair. It works best if you apply product, but you can skip the products. Try using a light styling cream instead of mousse.
