Fake A Twistout With THREAD Curls On Natural Hair: African Hair Threading

  • Hi everyone. I decided to curl my hair with thread after washing and blow drying it with my Arvazallia's advanced hair repair system for dry or damaged hair: fbit.co/3nPK My mom always did this on my natural hair when I was a kid because she wouldn't allow me to have a relaxer or use hot combs in my natural hair. If you suck at twistouts and would like to give African Hair Threading a try, this one's for you. I want to train myself to do product reviews and tutorials with everything that I use so that you can see how different products work. Let me know what products or tutorials you would like to see.

      Pure Estrogen oh yeah!! I was born here, but my parents are from St lucia, on August vacations when I go home, my grandmother would wash my hair every 2 weeks, she then mixed black castor oil and blue magic to massage my scalp with it, then put the black rope in there. My hair is so long and thick, Grandma couldn't deal with the washing each week, so she would do it every other week. I would leave the rope in for 1 full week then remove it the next week. My hair has always been curly, but when grandma does it, omg it is extra curly and beautiful.

    I have been trying all kinds of ways to curl my daughter’s hair. She has very course hair and I was trying to figure a good way. I never thought about blowing her hair out before doing rodding, curling, or Bantu knotting her hair. This is something I will try to do. I’m trying to grow her hair out. Thanks again for the tutorial!!!😉

    Hi, thanks so much for the video!!! When you do your hair this way, how often do you moisturize it? Do you spritz your scalp with water daily if it's in a twist out? Do you twist your hair nightly before going to bed? Thank you!!!!

    just came across your channel by chance and subscribed, just like that reason being find all your videos simple and inspiring. so, i have 4c low porosity hair and it is really coarse lol. i am using the mega growth deep conditioner but it doesn't give my hair the slip like i would imagine a deep conditioner should. what would you recommend as a starting regimen for natural hair.... yeah and which deep conditioner should i try, one that will leave my hair feeling soft?

    I jus discovered your channel. Your tutorials are simply bomb! They are so informative and different with interesting techniques and not overly talkative. You are not presenting just boring, rehashed, styles and reviews, wasting people's time like so many others. I love how detailed you are about your descriptions and actions. Thank you for teaching me how to do African threading. One tip though: Instead of crochet thread, try using knitting yarn because it is softer and wont be so abrasive and possibly cut on the hair like threads. Now you say you are from Zambia.....soooo, what happened to your African accent? How long have you been in the States?

    • @PureEstrogen
      @PureEstrogen  5 років тому +1

    Thanks so much for this, I really appreciated the close-up views!!💕...Have you worn this out/down and if so, do you have to re-thread, etc at night? My 15 yr old has 4 type hair, trying to help her find styles. She's getting discouraged that our efforts with bantus & t.o frizz up after 1-2 days.😟 Thanks for any help you can offer.💖

      A Beautiful Journey I almost never wear my hair down because I've always been this way even when relaxed. I don't rethread at night, but you can and mine lasted 3 days. I think wrap lotion will give more hold for a longer period of time.

      You don't have to have the exact products. Just use something similar. Which products do you lack?

    Super cute! What did you use to put it up? I usually use the elastic headbands from Goody (or a similar brand/style), but I find that they can be a little tight when they're new. I'm currently looking for an alternative. Thanks in advance!!

      Martina Rivers Thank you. I use a knee high stocking because they are super cheap and I can control the tension.

    Oh my! This is like magic! I' have super short, about 5" stretched 4c hair which I wear in a short afro all the time. I think I'll give this a try to see how i can do it. My Aunt used to thread my hair when I was a child and I always wanted to learn...this is a great incentive to try it. I might even get a new style out of it. Thank you for sharing. It looks almost magical!!

      Mika Peterson Like 45 minutes to put it in and an hour of drying time. It takes a little over 2 hours after styling.
