@vandyvanity did you glue the ends of the hair with nail glue where the braid stops before using the flexi rods and hot water? I am just wondering how to prevent the braid from unraveling? or will the hot water automatically stop it from unraveling on its own?
Thank you, Vandy, for your knowledge. I'm a middle-aged woman who hasn't had braids since the 90s. So watching your presentations has been very knowledgeable to me. Because I'm getting braids for the first time since the 90s on the 16th of this month. And the new things that are being done with braids is very. New to me. I really appreciate your knowledge
This is the best tutorial for this process on UA-cam, because you gave so many specifics such as how long to leave the hair in the water and how long to let it dry. Thanks for this!!
This video is a game changer. I didn't realize how different ways you can curl or wave the ends. I am going try the braid method. Video is totally organized and easy to follow!
Thank you so much! My daughter's braids were curled much more loosely than last time and I wanted to correct it, but only vaguely knew the technique that was used. Your specific tips for the water temp and pitcher transfer, not to squeeze too much, how to secure the flexirods... perfection! Much appreciated!
THE YARN METHOD👏 first time seeing it, just tried it- perfect curls. I used a metal straw to put the string through so it slid up easily. IM. IN. LOVE. Throwing away the flexirods🤣
Thank you! Very detailed but to the point. I'm about to use flexirods for the first time on my braids. I normally just do the braid method. Trying something new after years of braiding my own hair
Thank you 💖 learned something new and useful. I did fail though with flexi rods trying to curl Xpression jumbo braid they looked liked tight locks and not at all lovely like yours so I'll try again very carefully 😅
Very informative video! I liked and saved it because you were one of the only stylists whose video I viewed, that actually went in to detail about every part of the process...down to the time that you should keep the hair in the water. I am not a stylist, but wanted to make sure I explained to my braider what I wanted effectively. Also, if I choose to do the wavy part myself (after I get it braided), I needed to see a play-by-play so I don't mess up. Do you mind sharing the brand of hair you used?
@VandyVanity did you glue the ends of the hair with nail glue where the braid stops before using the flexi rods and hot water? I am just wondering how to prevent the braid from unraveling? or will the hot water automatically stop it from unraveling on its own?
The hot water seals the form of the braid which keep it from unraveling. If unraveling is an issue then make sure to tie off the ends first. You really shouldn't need glue.
***These methods work for synthetic hair ONLY! Do not try this with natural or human hair!***
Can you do a tutorial on cornrows please
Instablaster...
you can do flexi rods with natural hair
i will try
