If you look inside the mystery red and white one you will see how the shape of the red is a maple leaf. Those are the Canada 150 bulbs bred for Canada’s anniversary.
Such a great tour! Thank you! I’m crying it,so beautiful. Silly right? Going through COVID lockdown and seeing the outdoors and such a beautiful display I guess gets me
Your tulips are stunning and love the beautiful drifts of color! I am having a great display myself right now in landscape and containers. I bought many bulbs online from several sources; however, I got some beautiful tulips, daffs, crocus, and hyacinths from Walmart and Lowe's! I am currently in 6a, but moving to 8a. I will pre-chill and try my luck in containers next year. I had really good luck storing some in containers in my garage this year. Thanks for all the info. Great job!
Oh my Tulips!!!!nThey are soooo gorgeous! That would be my favorite spot to walk by if I were your neighbor. This was a great tour, thanks for sharing some cool varieties.
Your tulips are beautiful. Unfortunately most don't perennialize here in Alabama; however I have to try some of the Lily form ones next spring. I chilled my bulbs in the fridge for a couple months and they bloomed nicely this spring. They are just about finished now. .
Weren't they designed in the Netherlands especially for that birthday? Fabulous. Holland gives Canada tulips every year as a gift for hosting their royal family during the second world war.
@@singing-sands Yes, I think you’re right. I didn’t realize you could still buy those bulbs. I remember we had to pre-order ours and there were limited quantities I think.
@@singing-sands Canadians had a significant roll in the liberation of the Netherlands. After the war, the Dutch people and Princess Juliana expressed their thanks to Canada by sending thousands of tulip bulbs to Ottawa. Google the Tulip festival in our nation's capital for some gorgeous displays.

If my mom were living, and we lived 3 mins away instead of 3 hrs., we'd be doing a drive by on our weekly Sunday outing after watching this. Those Foxtrot Tulips look like Roses to me, just lovely, and the red and white in the green paint, WOW they are really something.
Love your garden full of tulips... My favorite are double flag and the one in the container multicolored... You gave sunshine to my day... We had lately cloudy and rainy days... Stay safe...
I have the same tulip in my garden! Now I know it's called Pink Impression.. They come back very reliably and seem to be clumping up and multiplying. They were sold to me as a big bag of "Angelique" and I was so disappointed when they came out the first spring. But I learned to love them and all my neighbours always comment on how beautiful they are. :) Have a lovely Easter holiday Yuliya!
Inn be picked up two dozen pink impression tulips on clearance late last fall...utterly blown away with them. They’ve been in bloom almost three weeks here in no 7a. Today’s wind finally did them in.
I like the different types of tulip and the color you planted in your garden all of them are gorgeous. Sadly I stop planting tulips because the squirrels were a big problem for me I did not want to deal with those creatures but I see you are persistent with deers 👍 ..
We removed squirrels last year because we were overrun. They chewed through cable wires and made a home in one of the roof lines. Oh, the smell in the house was horrible! I used SQUIRRELINATOR trap and we rehomed them to a local open woods. It took us about a week to get them all but I haven't seen any this year
@@ydoyougarden I will try that method sound good... In summer they come to my patio to eat and just bite my pear fruits is a disaster ... Thank you.. I will try your method.. Have a good weekend... Thank you
Greetings from the sunny UK. What a stunning display of tulips and spring flowers, a hint of lovely gardening eruptions over the coming months! Your display must lift the spirits for passers by and neighbours after this awful year, thankyou.
I planted a lot of tulips last fall/this year. My tulips are on there way out. My queen of night are just starting to lose their petals. One surprise I have (in a pot) are Menton tulips. Absolutely gorgeous and still going strong. I am in zone 7b on the Eastern shore of Maryland. Loved the video!
I love tulips! I have decided to treat most of mine as annuals. I will leave them in and add more in the fall. We will see what comes back. My neighbors love seeing the color-so worth it!
Your tulips and your whole garden look beautiful. - We also have deer problems but they have left the species tulips alone so far. Thanks for sharing! :)
If you're new to gardening, one thing you should plant are spring blooming bulbs!!! They will give you pure garden joy P.S. I love Satie! He is one of my favorite composers!
I planted double darwin tulips "akebono". Hopefully they come back next year. I'm in love! They've lasted over a month and have the most unique delicate yellow with peach trim.
Wow, that is gorgeous! I love the Lily types but that Foxtrot one is definitely a favorite. I got a bag at Costco with a mix of Finola and Blue Spectacle. I refrigerated them all winter and then potted them. The Blue Spectacles came up beautifully (I see no blue) but the Finolas didn’t bloom. The leaves sort of turned reddish. Have you ever seen that? Not sure what happened.
