Tulip Color Tour

- Watch to the end for a little announcement 😉. If you’re not too tired of my front yard...I wanted to give you one last look at the tulips (the Pinotage blend from COLORBLENDS.com) before the wind whisks them away. The peak of bloom seldom happens right at Easter, so it was nice this year to have it match up. On Wednesday, you’ll get an update on the back yard. I hope you all had a lovely Easter holiday.

Your front garden is elegant and stunningly beautiful right now! What a wonderful rebound from a harsh and hard winter.
--I couldn't agree more!
I really like the way you give plants a chance to come back after the ice storm instead of replacing them.
Isn’t nature the best teacher? Beaten, battered, and broken by arctic blasts-but somehow, some plants manage to push through! Spring is the great reminder of resilience, rebirth and renewal.
Congrats on your partnership with QVC. I predict you and the collection will bloom when broadcasted.
Thanks for your words of support!
Seeing all the new growth is so encouraging! Your front garden is beautiful and serene. Love your hat! Hi Stewart! 🙋♀️
Wow! Just amazingly beautiful after the horrendous Winter Storm Billy in October and the deep freezes in Feb & March. Such spectacular resiliance!
I absolutely love your garden the fact that you don’t use weed paper, you utilize each space with something, I really am inspired by your work. Thank you so much for sharing!!
Your front yard is stunning and I am happy many things have rebounded after the bad storm. Love your channel 💜
We just built a new home and have a blank slate to plant whatever we want! I dream of the day when ours looks so full and beautiful like yours!
Oh Linda what a vision. You in that purple top against the breath taking tulips. Just glorious.🌷💐🌹
Oh Linda your front yard is just Stunning with all those Gorgeous Tulips. Thank you for sharing this with us. It is Absolutely Breath taking . I would love to be sitting on your porch looking at all these Gorgeous Tulips with a cup of coffee. I was out working in my Garden today. It was Absolutely Beautiful today. So until next time God Bless you and Stewart and have a Blessed Evening and Stay Safe my dear Friends. 🌷🌷🌷
So beautiful Linda, you can’t help but smile watching this. Colours, layout fabulous. 🥰
Just beautiful! The color combinations are so pretty. I bet you are slowing down traffic on your street!
What a comeback , unbelievable in the beginning I checked to see if it was last years video. Great job Linda! The tulip mix ...perfection 💕🌸
The Spring show in your front yard every year just speaks to my soul. I LOVE the color palette and the juxtaposition of all the Spring bloomers with your boxwoods.
OH MY GOODNESS Linda I think yours is the most beautiful garden of tulips I’ve ever seen ❤️
Sounds like a great fall project for your Richard! He could plant lots of tulips for you :)
@@kylieky9169 🤣🤣 he would just stuff them anywhere with no enthusiasm and they’d all be upside down 🤣😊 seeing Linda’s tulips makes me think ‘why didn’t I plant loads more’ but I hate bulb planting 🤣🤣
An astonishing recovery from a horrible storm. Everything is exquisite ... especially your Easter bonnet :)
Absolutely beautiful!
Wine spritzer, darling outfit and the wind blowing around you. Such a good photo/video!! Here in Happy Valley, Oregon/zone 8, it is warm and dry this week. Rain will come again soon, but, sunny days are giving my abundance of tulips and daffodils much happiness. Enjoying springs new growth on all the plants. Watching them wake up is such a Blessing. Love, hugs, and prayers.
Oh Linda, it IS spectacular! If one wasn’t aware of your storm, they’d never know otherwise. I like the look of it being more open. The tulips really are putting on a show! Really nice! Happy Easter.
I'm so thrilled for you - your front garden is absolutely beautiful. A little patience and your brilliant gift of making things beautiful. Thank you for this tour of the the tulips!
So beautiful. Your yard screams spring
Love your tulips, the color mix is my favorite shades. Our neck of the woods, down under , is autumn time. A little bit of rain blew thru , it is Easter, always rains. We have just had the trunks removed on a huge 100 year old macracarpra hedge. Done in 3 stages, it was so large. Ours was the last bit to go in the street. We have also installed 2 rain barrels so I don't have to drag the hose down the garden. I was unsure how this would work, but love it. As this redevelopment of the backyard includes new fences and gardens, I have been watching many of these videos taking notes on shade planting, trees, bulbs and window boxes. I also loved your review on gardening books. Thankyou for sharing so much information, I have learned much. I love your patio it has given me many ideas that I would like to explore in the future. But first is a she shed!
Just a gorgeous sea of color and variety- congrats on a great 👍 front yard!!
BTW...... I am a huge fan of QVC, so I am so proud of you 👍 and excited this is happening 😛🌱🌴😛
Your front garden is spectacular! Happy Easter 🐣🐇🐰
Linda, from the wine spritzer to the golden euonymous to the extraordinary display of tulips to the resurrected loropetalum, BRAVA!
That Easter squirrel was watching you! Squirrels are quite aware of our moves and that particular one found its moment! The tulip combination couldn’t be more perfect. I love the fact that the bloom times overlap so you get to see all of the colors at the same time. Color echoing of purple cabbage and with the tree across the street is stunning! Happy a lot of your shrubby plants are making a return. Happy Easter!! 🐣
😱 Oh! Please don’t torque that precious lil boxwood! He’s trying so hard and is making a strong comeback. He will soon be green all over and although somewhat misshapen, is to be embraced and loved 💞as are all of us somewhat misshapen people.
I think I agree with you! You have convinced me to let it flourish!
Hello I’m from Cambodia
It is truly beautiful - and your affection for what you grow shows through in the conversation you are having as you tour your garden. Can't wait to see it evolve over the summer.
Thinking back on your walkabout when it appeared that your yard was destroyed, what a comeback you have made! The tulips are simply incredible!
Congratulations with your nice Easter tableaux.
Pink is also a colour with a meaning.
Im happy that a lot recovered well.
👍
Linda, you are just as lovely as your garden! That purple rocks! The wattle is adorable. 💕🌸🌺💕 I know your neighbors just love living near you.
The frilly pink tulips are so lovely🌷 Just gorgeous after the awful winter storms. Easter Blessings 🌈
Enjoyed seeing the cabbage mixed in. Great trend to see food mixing into public view beds.
Stunning !🌷 omgggg!!!!! So beautiful
Oh, Linda, your front garden is beautiful! I love the mix of tulips! Now, I would love to see the teeny tiny lawn mover you used to mow your Easter grass.🤣❤
Lol!!!
@@LindaVater
Just gorgeous! Especially after such a harsh winter. You inspire me to get busy. 🌷🌸🌺
OMGGGGGG, I love your garden especially after your storms, brighter my Tanzanian friend 😊
Linda, your garden looks beautiful. My garden in zone 7A is really starting to perk up. Spring blooms are blooming and grass is starting to turn green. Love watching your channel.
Getting used to your new garden! Still miss your old garden from time to time and go back to your older videos though! Beautiful tulips, Linda!
Everything looks so cheery and spring like. I envy the person that buys your neighbors house. They'll get a house with a view of your beautiful yard as well.
Lol...the “Easter Squirrel”! They are awful here in GA as well. Your front yard is beautiful. Love the selection of tulips.
Squirrel population here in Central Ga have tripled🐿 .... but me and my surrounding neighbors are the cause....we have lots of sunflower feeders around our yards for the sweet birds!!
Thank you, Linda. Your front is beautiful. I love your the. Color palette of the tulips. We too had frigid weather and lost some plants. It seems the azaleas and the snowball viburnum have just taking over the garden in its splendor. I live in central Mississippi. I too welcome spring with warmer weather. Love your walk abouts.
Took out my dogs extra early this morning (woke up rom an unsettling dream), as I snuggle back under the covers, a good hour before my youngest wakes up, an electric thrill of excitement and joy passes over me as I see Linda standing with a wine glass surrounded by her garden bed. I somehow feel like celebrating with you, flowers, boxwood, nature and life, the simple things to keep us sane. Seattle mom of 4 sons (2 autistic)
Then you truly know how to savor each moment and small victory. I hope tonight your dreams are sweet and calming, dear.
@@LindaVater Aw thanks for taking the time to reply, you're the best! I'll try to stop watching late night creepy oprah interviews! lol
I'm completely obsessed with purple this year. Your garden looks gorgeous!
Absolutely gorgeous tulip show. What a dreamy front yard 😍🌷
A beautiful spring garden Linda. I can’t believe how quickly everything has come along. I live on the Pacific Northwest coast, Vancouver Island, while we have mild winters our spring is long and slow my tulips are not near to blooming yet!🌷 🌞Enjoy the magnificence of all your hard work!
Such a stunning garden ~ tulip display! And so quickly! Must be your climate as I'm still awaiting my tulips to open up here in England :)
Love love love this!! So beautiful! Those tulips are beautiful! Love your hat!
Thank you for the special tour. It's amazing to think you experienced a terrible storm not long ago. Just shows what Mother Nature and Linda Vater can do together to become beautiful again. 😊 I experience problems with squirrels and marauding cottontail bunnies that run wild in the area. Sometimes I would wake up to find rabbits chewed favorite plants down to the ground overnight. I make a home spray of cayenne pepper and water and spray that on things I know are targets for vermin. It works, but need to repeat every few days .
Mary Byrd:CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I will be watching!!!
I absolutely loved the color combination of the tulips. I will try to copy it in my fall bulb planting. It is a thrill (seriously) to tour your spring front yard landscaping. We are so lucky to have individuals like you to keep us inspired and ever so focused on our own garden aspirations. Thank you.....
It's beautiful Linda. I know that we always see the gaps, holes and weeds when we look at our own gardens but I surely don't see any of this in your garden! I'm so glad you put the tulips in after the big storm - the silver lining - or should I say pink, plum and white lining.
The front garden looks glorious Linda !
Absolutely beautiful 💕💕💕 can’t wait for your garden collection!!!
What a beautiful spring array of colours these lovely tulips have exhibited in the front yard. Thank you linda for a job well done. Happy Easter to you too 🐣⚘🐣⚘🐣⚘
Your garden is so inviting, love all of the tulips!
Absolutely lovely 😊
Oh my Linda. The front yard is gorgeous !! 😍 I’m sooo excited for you to be partnering with QVC. I’m so proud and happy for you! Wow. Good for you. I hope you had a wonderful Easter.
What a beautiful spring display! I’m going plant tulip bulbs in the front yard in a bed where I have geranium planted this fall. Love them! My favorite flower. 💕🌷🌷
All the flowers are beautiful. I am still waiting for mine to open up. Thanks for sharing yours.
A beautiful tour! Thank you! Hope you had a wonderful Easter. Congratulations on your collaboration with QVC! Hope it goes very well! You’ve already twisted my arm into purchasing the Essex Butlers Tray and Wire Cloche from Gardeners supply! So if this garden gig folds maybe sales is your next career! Haha!😆🤣😉Fun times ahead! Tulips looked wonderful!
Uh oh!!
Beautiful spring garden. The tulips looks amazing! Looking forward to seeing you on QVC!!! I am sure you will do well.
Your garden is fabulous! My tulips just began opening and I hope they put on the show yours are. Our daffodils were stellar this year👏👏👏. We are dealing with a lot of rain, wind and poor drainage issues in our garden. I’ve been digging large French drain pots everywhere which is helping the water get into the ground. Also raised the soil level in areas and built two retaining walls this year to hold it. Every bit helps. I’d love to put the entire gardening budget towards plants but I’m finally learning (after 21 years 🤣) that a good plan/infrastructure is everything. Thanks for sharing your gorgeous garden with us! I’m in south NJ, zone 6b.
Thankyou for sharing just lovely the waddle fences make it look like a giant Easter basket. Ontario Canada 🐝🇨🇦
In awe... its whimsical...its magical. Love love love!!
The garden looks amazing and the color combinations beautiful. Happy Easter to you and Stewart for taking the time on Easter Sunday. 🌺🌺🌺🐇
What a stunning garden! So refreshing after the long winter. My garden plan this year will be changing because of the extreme amount of wet weather we’ve had. Water, water everywhere! 🤪 Makes me crazy! Keeps me challenged though. I simply love the stepping stones throughout the landscape! Congratulations on the QVC show! 🎉 I know it will be a success! 🤩
I loved Stewarts wave at the end of his tour
The wave was perfection! Thank you Stewart!
Bruised and battered, but making a glorious comeback! I love spring, it let's me know things are going to be alright 👍 🙌
Thank you God 😇
Wow your garden looks amazingly beautiful 💕👌
Portland OR with lots of wind right now. My tulips are hanging in there so far, but the hyacinths and muscari are about done. I have one little white crocus come out to play a bit late, so cute. I go out in the morning and some areas have yet to fill in and by noon, I am like, "Oh Wow, where did you come from". Wind is my biggest nemesis right now.
Mine too! With too high temps!
Still looks so pretty - the Colorblends tulips are really fun - liking the bright pops of color and their unique shapes. The wattle fencing is a great element in this garden. Love the lantern on the hook. I say leave the boxwood and develop a new topiary shape!? Plant a companion for it...
Love the !
Here in Michigan we are getting a thunderstorm. I love them. The rain was so needed. We had a band on fires as well it was so dry.
You have one of the most beautiful yards.
It shouts Spring. 💕🥂
Tecumseh in southern Michigan here I'm with you I am so happy it is raining🌼
What a difference a few months make, beautiful front yard.
Another nice walk through your beautiful front garden! Linda you and Stewart are awesome!
Just gorgeous. Wonderful blend of colours.🌷
Linda, all I can say, is how stunning is this the Easter garden, even after Mother Nature did her unexpected ‘pruning’. I think that mixture of tulips really pulls together your garden. I also appreciate that little fence and lantern on the Shepherd’s hook as they provide me with ideas on what I can use for one of my new garden areas.
Yay for loropetalum coming back! I am in Arkansas and during the February freeze we dipped below zero my bushes were 4 x 4 and I see new growth at the bottom I’m gonna go ahead and do just as you did and cut them back and leave them alone. Everybody here has been saying leave them but those tops are just dead And they look awful. So glad to hear you talk about that plant
Yup!
Everything is so beautiful. You are so inspiring. We just moved into a house last fall in Milwaukee, WI and I'm working on our yard. I hope someday it looks like yours!
Simply stunning! I love the way everything is arranged and it gives me many ideas for my own front yard. Thank you!
Happy Easter! Beautiful gardens. Robbinsville NJ has had two days of heavy rain and wind gusts that blew down a few giant oaks. Now the forecast is dry and wildfire caution. Hellebores and daffodils are spectacular this year. With some nights below 30. I use cayenne pepper-generously and often for bunnies and squirrels, on the leaves as well as the ground. Stay well.
What a way to start the day! A million thank yous for this special edition! I love that you drink your wine with ice as I do. Your wattle fence reminds me of Outlander when she had to make a wattle fence to go around her potager. It's just adorable with Mr. Bunny 🐇
I'm telling you Linda,Gravel is the only thing I have found that will deter the little boogers! I have done like you and tried every other recommendation but gravel and only gravel has been my saving grace. Also, it is so refreshing to see someone gardening in a small garden that is so beautifully and lovingly tended. I can identify with your garden because it's about same size as mine! Simply stunning!
Thank you Diane!
Gorgeous Front Garden Linda and Congrats on your gardening line on QVC!
Thank you for showing off your tulips. Our early daffodils and crocus are just starting here in zone 5, so no dramatic floral shows yet. It does my heart good to see yours in bloom Linda.
obsessed with all of the tulips, I am going to plant an insane amount this year so I can tip toe threw the tulips in my own yard. Absolutely beautiful!
Linda, your tulips are absolutely beautiful !! Such a beautiful blend!!
Everything looks beautiful. My tulips did not do as well in pots either. The squirrels got so many of my bulbs. I live in western Nebraska and I’m a few weeks behind you. My daffodils are looking gorgeous now. My tulips are getting buds. I can’t wait to see them in full bloom.
Very pretty Linda! Especially the tulips choices make it pop!
Your tulips, front yard and porch all look beautiful!
OK Miss Linda ;) We need to know about your great hat!! I totally luv it! And it look fab on you!! Please let us know where it can be purchased. Thanks for all your great vids!
It's truly beautiful and amazing that plants are that hardy to be able to recover! The biggest challenge I have in my area (CT, zone 6b) is high wind which is very drying.
Boy. Here too! Really shortens the life of my tulips!
Oh Linda, your yard is beautiful!!! I am so happy for you! Mine is getting better also. I will send you a picture when I can. I have had some medical issues and cannot get out there much to do what I want to do. I do have some plants I thought were gone coming back. My beautiful new Spiral Gardinia that I had just bought died. It was a Southern Living Plant. I was bummed. It was my fault. I brought it inside and did not take it out enough during the storm and it got dried out by the heat in the house. Died while I thought I was saving it!!lol. I will get another, it was so unusual. I cannot wait to buy another and see it blum. Keep working on that beautiful garden!!😊Texas zone 8
Don’t beat yourself up too badly! I have done the same thing many a time LOL!
Oh my gosh all these beautiful tulips all over your front flowerbeds were just beautiful you did a great job on this flower bed so beautifully put together everything was gorgeous really loved it. Love the way you explained everything to. I always love a good garden video thank you so much
I love the colour splash these Tulips add to the front Linda, looks so Beautiful. Looking at your standard lollipop in the container I thought to myself how good it would look with 3 or 5 identical pots to punctuate the border adding a small bit of height and at the same time allowing you to see through the border.
It's gorgeous! We have only a few daffodils up and blooming. I'm in northern Utah, and our area is just waking up. We had a super dry winter and our state has declared a state of emergency due to lack of water... we'll see how that pans out for gardens and fire season.
However, I've planted a few things in the garden already and I'm excited for what's coming back. My new lilacs are putting out buds that should bloom in a month, and the old lilac that suffered a hard prune will be blooming for the first time in 5 years! I'm very excited about that.
Your front garden looks lovely, and as always your videos are a joy to watch!
Your yard is very inspiring! So glad you have a beautiful spring garden after such a hard winter. Love your channel. I actually found a beautiful basket at Goodwill just in time for Easter decor. Thank you, Linda💕
Wow, incredible Easter display. All of your hard work came to fruition quickly!
The front looks so charming! Linda, Katrina from Homegrown Garden puts chicken wire in her pots directly above the bulbs buried under the soil. She talked about it in her spring bulb planting video and seems to have had success in keeping the squirrels out. Might be worth a try if you haven’t tried it before. Thanks for the wonderful walkabouts.
Absolutely beautiful
