2006 YZ450F FCR Carb O-ring Mod........ Fixing the Bog issue!

- Does your bike bog and die when you snap the throttle? Well this is an old trick to fix that issue. I did this to my 2006 YZ450F and have on many bikes previous with this carb. A common issue with the FCR carb is that the accelorator pump is slow to react in unison with the carb slide when at idle or low throttle. This mod works assuming your jetting is correct, carb is clean, and running good fuel. Hope this helps and if you have any questions, ask in the comments.

Thanks for this. Would really help to have not speed it up during reassembly and talked your way through it. This is my first carb rebuild and I haven't been able to identify all the new orings!
did this to my 07 also but I had to unhook the electrical connector to the carb, not even sure now what it was for but it smooth the throttle response out when holding a steady throttle.
Brooooooooooo imma try this tomorrow!!!!! You may have solved my issue lmao
Lets go!!!!
What part did you paint grease(?) on and why?
Yes I used grease, and it was on the bearings on the lever arm, and on the prongs to hold them in place. Hope that helps, thanks for watching!
@@DanMX2112 Ah makes sense. Thanks for the reply!
My 06 yz450f has a wierd issue when u first give it throttle it bogs. I was diagnosed a timing chain but I'm not convinced then I came across this video. What are the tell tail signs that this needs to be done
Well, assuming your jetting is completely correct and your bike is timed, I would start with the fuel screw adjustment. Once you’re back to the Stocks settings which is 2 1/8 of a turn out, then at that point I would go ahead and do the O-ring mod/wire tie. Watch this video and this should be everything you need. Let me know if you have any more questions. By the way this will only affect it when you snap the throttle, from an 1/8 of a turn to 1/4 turn throttle position.
