For the 06-09 yz450f, no need to remove the carb. Just loosen the clamps both sides, twist the bottom towards the non exhaust side, and loosen the 3 screws with a #2 Phillips bit on a small ratchet. Remove, replace, reverse.

I recently rebuilt the carburetor on my 2014 Grizzly 450. I adjusted the air fuel screw 2 1/2 turns out and inspected the fuel accelerator parts, everything looked good no dry rot or cracks. However, now when press the throttle I get no power and stall... The ATV only has like 28hrs and is garage kept so it's not all beat out but I'm at a loss to what it can be. Any help would be much appreciated.
If your carb doesn’t have a leak jet will the q3 compensate for that and act as one. And what “mods” would you have to make to your float bowl for the q3
The Quickshot 3 is only available for Keihin FCR carbs with leak jet, the QS3 gives you the ability to finely tune the leak jet that otherwise can't be tuned.
I just purchased a fcr Mx carb for my Drz400 and after installing it had a mean rich bog I took it off and noticed the accelerator pump is squirting for damn near 11 seconds. So I ordered a CRF450 ap diaphragm which has a longer stud on it will this be enough to shorten the squirt duration or is there something else I can buy or do to shorten the squirt duration?
@@Goose868 how’d you end up going? I have a DRZ462 and just bought a new FCRMX41. Am thinking of the Quickshot3, but also tossing up the Honda diaphragm that reduces squirt duration to ~1 second
@@ronanrogers4127 I ended up just taking the bike to a shop last week but I’d didn’t buy the qs 3 I do have the Honda diaphragm in the carb but gave the shop the original as well, we’ll see what happens
You'll want to refer to the instructions that come with it. Basically, you'll do your adjustment with that screw instead of changing a leak jet. Every bike is different, so to get the right adjustment you are going to have to run the bike and make small adjustments by turning the screw in or out until you get the best performance. -Charles

It's common for that brass tube to be clogged right at the tip in the throat of the carb. Get an old clutch or throttle cable, cut it, and use one of the wire strands to poke down that hole. If that's clear, then check the passages in the float bowl with some carb cleaner. Keep in mind, the ball in the bottom is a one way check valve. Good luck! -Charles

Screws are the japanese JIS. If using the correct JIS screwdriver they will never cam over. Using a philips screwdriver they could ruin the screw

It also has no leak jet that I can adjust

My accelerator pump leaks, i have tried everything and nothing works. its like half a year and im just stuck and sad

My stock leak jet is good enough and doesn’t need adjusting
I’ve cleaned and rebuild mine and still doesn’t even drip a single drip out of the sprayer and you got a whole squirt gun
