When adding the buckles with grosgrain.... I like use a little extra grosgrain on one side to make a piece of it stick up to make a loop, then I can hang the bag with a carabiner from the grosgrain. I really like I having the option to open the bag while it is still hanging. I use a smaller version of this as my snack bag on the outside of my backpack so it's easier to find the snack I want to eat. Plus if I never unhook the bag from my pack, I cannot accidentally forget it.
Terrific upgrade to the RipstopbytheRoll project. I like to use dry bags even when I'm not worried about water, this box bottom really extends the usefulness. Thanks for sharing this.
Cute puppies in the background!! Thanks for a very helpful video. Thinking I will trim the height of the bag and not put dyneema tape on the part I'm cutting off to avoid buying extra tape. Missed that I needed that when I ordered my kit.
Great instruction video Sarah! Gonna follow your build sans sewing machine. Making a food/bear bag and I will be using dyneema tape on double fold seams and quad folding 3” dyneema strips with tape for the buckle. Thanks much your help!
@@TheHikingHobbit that is AWESOME! Glad you made it through the whole thing. And yeah, if I ever do hike the entirety of it, itll be as a slow ass section hiker. Got any plans for the PCT or CDT?
It would have already been inside out while you sew and tape the seams and sew the first piece of grosgrain into the rolled hem. You then turn it right-side-out to sew on the grosgrain with the clips.
Great video. Once question; after the roll top hem is completed do you then turn the piece ‘outside in’ (to put the taped seams on the inside) before sewing in the clips? Wanted to confirm when to do that. Thanks again for sharing this!
I use a 80(12) universal needle and all purpose sewing thread. Nothing fancy. You just want to avoid using overly large needles or needles designed for knit fabric.
Their patterns look very nice, but the website link needs a pen & paper to be able to transfer it to a browser (for me anyway), so if you could make the link work that would be really handy. Thanks
Perhaps instead of cutting holes in the bottom just make a diagonal seam with the machine while its flat.. it leaves dog ears on the inside but way faster and easier than cutting and measuring those corners..
Support Chinese economy- buy ready to use dry bag with round bottom! Can stay without any problems and also can roll! Cost cents, strong and long-term use

Love the puppies in the background!!!!!! 🥰 Oh, and thanks for this video. Nice to have someone other than the Ripstop person explain.
You are so much better at explaining this than the dude in the ripstop video. Please make more videos!
This was great. Clear and easy to follow. Please make more DIY guides!
Really useful. Thanks. I'm gonna make some bags using recycled snow pants, this was a really big help.
Really great job on this! Honestly, I'm disappointed to not see more videos on your channel, I hope you make more!
Great video! Clear and detailed demonstration. Thank you!
I am using your design/ tutorial to make a 48” long dry bag out of marine vinyl. Thank You for the clear instructions.
How did it come out?

very clear, thanks a lot! That is also such a fun print.

For real? I never would have thought to do that. how did it come out?
Of being your first time you did it really good congratulations and keep on doing more videos thank you
Outstanding instructional video. Anyone should be able to follow this.
That was extremely helpful. Thanks for posting this!
You're really skilled at this. I'm looking forward to see how long these bags last. Looks great thanks!
Great video. 🙂 Thanks for sharing ☺️
Great video! This is exactly what I was looking for!
Nice video! I'll be making a couple just like this, thanks much.

Super, das allerste Video 🤗
und schon perfekt!! 👍
Vielen Dank aus Deutschland!
Great video, well made.
Thank you for this video and great job!
Awesome. Wish I would have seen this earlier. Leaving for the AT in a couple weeks, and don't have time to order from Rip Stop. But thanks for sharing
How was it?
@@elliotw5918 it was a journey. Completed all 2193.3 miles. Something I would do again in the future, but section hike it next time.

Great video!
Very helpful, thank you.
Muito bom... Obrigado pelo vídeo.
Very well explained. It would be nice if a simpler fabric color/pattern was used though since it was hard to see what was going on a couple times :)
Hi, great DIY. For me you have to flip inside out somwhere befor attach the grograin and the clip....or not?
It would have already been inside out while you sew and tape the seams and sew the first piece of grosgrain into the rolled hem. You then turn it right-side-out to sew on the grosgrain with the clips.
Thumbs up for your video! Just a quick question: how did you setup tension on the machine for Dyneema fabric?
Cool project. I’ll have to experiment with this concept. Where do you get dyneema material from
Is no one going to mention the epic puppy battle??? Ps great tutorial 👍
Great video. Once question; after the roll top hem is completed do you then turn the piece ‘outside in’ (to put the taped seams on the inside) before sewing in the clips? Wanted to confirm when to do that.
Thanks again for sharing this!
You turn it Right-side-out to sew the clips. (So the taped seam are on the inside).
Where did you get this beautiful designed DCF?
Cheers good vid :)
What kind of material is the fabric?
niceeeee,,
What thread and needle size do you use for stuff like dcf?

Very nice work and you are soo beautiful very quiet personality 💗
Perhaps instead of cutting holes in the bottom just make a diagonal seam with the machine while its flat.. it leaves dog ears on the inside but way faster and easier than cutting and measuring those corners..
With her method, though, you get to preserve those 2 little squares of fabric. Dyneema is like $40++/yd., so saving every little bit is important.
This is a completely reasonable approach, but us ultralight freaks gotta save every percentage of a gram.
You stopped at one video? It was good. Too bad.
