Being 20 years old I am scared of going to canada next fall 2023 to start a new life, I feel worried about my finances, especially coming from a middle class family. Your lessons teach me that I am not alone in this. Thank you for guiding us to a better future
Love this Rachel! I felt the sincerity and I honestly cried when you mentioned about your parents. We are about to fly to Canada tomorrow and your video is so timely.
Huhuhu thank you so much for your kind comment! I’m seeing my parents next month and I can’t wait to give them a hug after 5 years of not seeing them 🥹 Take care on your flight to Canada ✈️ your family will miss you but it’s only temporary! If you feel sad, I find this quote from Avengers to be quite comforting “what is grief, if not love persevering” ♥️🤗
It's like you're reading my mind! Moving to Toronto in a few weeks, and all kinds of feelings are rushing in. I have to agree: Having to leave my parents behind is definitely one of the toughest things I'll ever have to do. What makes it even harder-- Our parents will always put our happiness first (even when it hurts them), and expect nothing in return. Been following your content for years now, and I must say your channel has helped us so much. I can tell that you really love what you do, and (more importantly) you are generous with your wisdom. No wonder you are succeeding. Cheers to you, Rachel!
My partner and I came here in Vancouver on summer 2022, we experienced the transition to fall and now to winter. These changes made me realize that we have also transitioned from our simple and stable life in PH to new one. Mahirap na masaya. Life here, ika nga ni Taylor Swift: We're Happy, Free, Confused and Lonely at the same time, it is Miserable and Magical. Happy 5 years sayo! 💕
Awwww! It’s def a rollercoaster ride of emotions 🤗♥️ take the highs, embrace the lows = what an adventure, right? 😊 And yes to meeting a fellow switfie hehe 😜hope you’re settling in nice ♥️
Thank you Rachel because thru your vlogs you were able to inspire young people just like my son to take the risks and follow his dream. He is living alone in Vancouver for 4 months now, in a way your vlogs really helped him a lot to prepare and what to expect in living as an IS. And I'm really proud to say that he is a changed man. I never thought he'll be able to manage all the studying, doing the household chores etc all by himself. I just arrived here in Vancouver to spend the holidays with him. Thank you Resilient Rachel and I'm really wishing you all the best!
Ms. Rachel, I'm an aspiring international student. When I arrive in Canada, I hope I get the chance to see you. You always inspire me in my journey.. your personality is one of those qualities I want my peers to have. ♥️😊
rachel your videos helped me a lot with my application since april. now i'm about to begin this journey this winter 2023 in Toronto; my flight's next week. thank you for sharing your experiences and i'm very grateful that i found your channel! i felt motivated by your videos and i'm wishing you all the more power
AHHHHH, I can totally feel the excitement you must be feeling knowing Canada is just DAYS away 🥰🥳 I hope you settle in nicely, the winter is colder down at the East Coast so layer up! But I’m so excited for you to experience life here 🇨🇦 and I’m so thankful that I somehow am part of this journey with you! Take care always and WELCOME 🙏🤗
I watched and listened to this video while shopping my own grocery here in loblaws and lol I coudnt help but shed a tear haha. As an international student here in Canada all by myself, it took me a lot of courage and learned to overcome the fear of the unknown to be where I am today. Still on all these diffucult processes and still far from the end goal, but being resilient keeps me going too. Thanks, Rachel! You've always been so helpful and inspiring.
hey rachel, i started watching your videos last year when i was still considering canada. fast forward and now im about to finish my first academic year here. it's definitely been a lot.. i really miss my family but i'm trying to be "selfish" and enjoy each day here as in comes. it's just hard... so many unexpected things have happened since arriving in canada and I'm really, truly alone starting from ground zero (no relatives). it's lonely, and i hate thinking that I'll be on my own for the holidays, but i hope everything gets better soon. thanks for this video, i could relate a bit.
Thanks for this video! I'm at least twice your age. And I didn't have any immigration stuff to deal with when moved to Canada (dual citizen). But I can relate to all the emotions that go into the adjustment. I knew this was meant to be home the first time I saw the city skyline. It took a long time but I left everything behind, moved here, and started over. I will never regret it. I have a nice place, my dream job, and I feel like I'm HOME.
I'll be studying in Vancouver in 4 months. Mentally, I've been preparing myself to be strong and ready for everything and every obstacle ahead, but this video is really nice and calming for some reason I cannot explain. It confirmed on all the mental fortitude I've built without even coming to Canada and it would be a lot of help for anyone going through a tough time in Canada. You've done a fabulous job with this video and I'm sure it has good advice and has been really helpful to many. Proud of you.
I just randomly find this, I am at a point where I don't have a clear mind about what I wanted. I have a good position at work but the compensation isn't good. I am thinking if going to Canada is really something for a change. I worry alot coz I know it all or nothing. So, thanks for this very honest video, I have no one to rely on except myself and I'm really considering Canada. I hope someday in God's time and will.
YES 🙌 while it’s good to get stuff done, your worth isn’t necessarily tied to your accomplishments! Took me awhile to get this, and I’m still learning ♥️😊
Made my bf watch because he's been feeling shitty about not accomplishing that much within his first 3 months in Canada. I just want him to know that it's okay, that he's still adjusting, that he'll be fine and things will get better for him. He's already accomplished a lot considering that he's starting from ground zero and I always always make sure to give him credit for that. :) Thanks for the amazing video, Ate Rach! P.S. I'm so happy because I can see your growth when it comes to your videos. Keep it up po!
I can watch your video all day and not get tired … Good job sweetheart, I can’t wait for my Visa to be approved so I can experience the other part of life 🙏
Hi Rachel! I'm one of your subscribers and your videos was one of my source of information before coming here in Canada. Congratulations for hitting 100k subscribers. Continue to share your knowledge and resources for those aspiring international students like me. Cheers! 🥳🥂
I just moved to Canada 2 weeks ago and I'm glad it's worth the wait, I'm just so impatient at the moment waiting to get accepted for job.... finding a permanent place to live all seems so far away.
Thank you so much, Rachel, for this video. The 5 lessons that you shared is full of wisdom. I will need to keep reminding myself of these lessons as I process my international student application. I'm going to watch all of your videos and learn from you more. God bless you!
@rrdancel thanks for this video I have been following you since 2021. The 3rd point of this video really got me. "Life is not a race but a journey." Looking forward to more videos.
This video was beautiful, my favorite video from your channel so far. I have been away for 2 years now, I related to everything. Thank you so much, keep up the amazing content!
Hi Rachel! thank you for sharing about your journey and experience in Canada. I have been watching your videos for a while and it has been of great help on my own journey. When I started watching your videos I was back in my country dreaming about traveling to Canada, and I am finally here! it is still a long way before achieving what I came for, but I just wanted to say that your videos are amazing and that I watch every single one of them. So keep going, and thank you for sharing important information about inmigration.
Thank u Rach, your videos are so inspiring.. I just finished my first program and I want u to know that u are the one who encourage me to do DIY with my application and treat it as a preparation to be an IS. And you are right about it, I am more confident after processing the application, I even finished the program with honors. I hope your channel will continue to grow, to inspire more people like me.
Love how this is made! As a video editor, very well done! Galing kabayan. Just wanna share to you that because of your vlogs, it fueled up my courage to go in Canada as an Int Student as well! I am now granted a visa and will go there this January!
Hi, Rachel. I've watched alot of your videos in the past and just came across this video now. I wanted to send you an email because I wanted to inquire and learn more about schools in Canada which is best-suited for a mom and wife like me, and who is actually in my late 40's but would still want to pursue and chase for my dreams...now that I have more reasons to change path, which are my kids. I've seen a couple of your past videos where you featured different schools in Canada and even those that offered scholarships. Thank you so much for always coming up with great videos! I look forward to hearing back from you.
Watching your videos is very inspiring. Leaving Philippines especially your family is really hard here i am only have 6 days vacation and start my journey to Canada .See you around in Vancouver 🥰

Glad to hear your kids are settling nicely, hope you get into the groove of things soon 😊♥️ Hard to relearn stuff for sure! Especially having to unlearn certain habits to make room for a new one 😅 but I’m sure you’ll do great ♥️ so proud of you for making that jump especially with family!
@rrdancel thanks. Im still adjusting in the culture, weather, and study, hehehehe, maybe because of the long school gap. But we are thankful to God that he grants our hearts' desire. Laban lang for the better future of our kids 😊 please continue to inspire all student aspirants. More power, and God bless always.

OMG! Thank you for being there since Day 1 🥹 couldn’t believe it too, pinch me I’m dreaming! ♥️🥰 wouldn’t get far without your support, thank you thank you thank you! 🥹
Currently in my 4th month on this journey and I can relate to everything you said, but I also feel that the worst is yet to come. Where can I buy patience and resilience? 😂
Living in Canada is not at all bed of roses. 🥀 Loads of adjustment to take with some pretty high highs and some pretty low lows. Everything is much more expensive than I expected and every day is indeed a new challenge and a sacrifice but despite all the struggles and problems living in a first world country, I still find Canada very fascinating and beautiful! ☺ Happy first month in Canada to me! hehe Anyway, I love your Canada story. I learned a lot from you. You are an inspiration.
Hello po ate Rachel I hope to see you in Canada po, when I get there I learn a lot about what to expect and what are the rules in canada being a international student 😅
Hi Rachel! I'm planning on moving to Canada for May Intake but having a hard time finding a two year tourism or hospitality program. Wouldn't it be nice if you come up with videos based on the fields?
Life is a journey, not a race. Indeed its true. But aside from that, we should also find & contemplate/reflect the real purpose of life...coz at the end of the day, specially under the grave neither position nor status in life prevails. Asleem taslam

My flight is soon!

Life is a journey, not a race. Indeed its true. But aside from that, we should also find & contemplate/reflect the real purpose of life...coz at the end of the day, specially under the grave neither position nor status in life prevails. Asleem taslam
You hit the nail on the head with that one 🥰🙏
