Simply the best, true and practical content I've seen on UA-cam since I start researching this "study n' live in Canada" thing. Congrats. Keep up on making these helpful videos. Greetings from Brazil.
You are probably the first content creator who said that you can't earn your living expenses through part time jobs. Almost everybody said that it is possible to cover your living expenses unless you are unemployed. Yes, earning tuition fees is not possible but living expenses are possible, unless you want to rent an entire house.
Thank you for commenting. In this video, I provided some numbers to back up my statement to indicate that it's not possible. But, there are those that get by and force themselves into dangerous financial situations.
@@rrdancel Hi! Any idea how expensive Calgary is? I'll be moving in with my friend from Asia so will the $1000 from part time jobs be enough to cover up just the daily and monthly living expenses in Calgary? Great video and ty!

SUPER IMPORTANT NOTE FOR AMERICANS: I'm not sure if this is with everyone (I'm pretty sure it is), but my University (Calgary) only allowed a certain amount of U.S. loans to cover the Canadian Tuition that was 3x the cost of Canadian Citizens. It works out to approximately $1,900 per class, but my university only granted about $10K of loans for the first 2 years, and $12k for the last two years. That works out to about 5 classes and 6 classes per year respectively. THIS IS NOT ENOUGH TO COVER YOUR CLASSES IF YOU WANT TO GRADUATE IN FOUR YEARS. I made this mistake and my four year degree will take six years after a VERY difficult financial struggle. I did meet my wife here, so there's a silver lining, but just be weary and make sure you read all the fine print from your university if you're accepted.

Hey guys, she says a lot of truth about working here as an international student, you are restricted only for 20 hrs./week but one tip for you all, expand your network here and you'll be able to meet people who can hook you up with cash jobs (under the table/not declared/tax-free) this can really help you financially but be careful as work exploitation may occur and you are not covered by the law. Once get caught, it can jeopardize your status here in Canada, so be very careful. And for Ms. rrdancel, thanks for sharing and putting up this information. I'm from BC and I know how expensive living here, especially in the main cities.
I get paid around $1100 after taxes here in Vancouver working 20 hours per week at a warehouse. Luckily I have family here so I don't have to pay for rent and groceries

For example, if I have a part time job at a coffee shop and work the 20 hours per week as allowed and on my free time I take pictures and people want to buy them, is it ok to sell them?

That’s really nice to hear.
Love to know those pieces of advice Mem! God bless!
Although all your videos are realistic, they have a negative note in them. I understand, its not a cakewalk, life in Canada is tough, as a student, as a worker or as an immigrant, the question is, where isnt it tough though? It is tough back home too. The hustle is real. Dont discourage people by just talking about the negative side of the country. The country has a lot more to offer in return and all the hustle is worth it! Peace !
I don’t try to discourage anyone from coming to Canada. I try to encourage them. But, I want to give people the right set of facts and tools for them to come to Canada and succeed.

Let’s not advice people to work under the table or not declared (tax free jobs). It will jeopardize their immigration status in Canada.
I get paid around $1100 after taxes here in Vancouver working 20 hours per week at a warehouse. Luckily I have family here so I don't have to pay for rent and groceries
That’s great to have the support group! It’s always better to get all the help you can get 🤗🥰 That way you can focus on bettering yourself that will bring you one step closer to your goal. 🙏
How much expense in a month can a international student expect living in Victoria, BC any idea bro?

They said that the agency will find a work for you ???? Is that true ??
Its so overwhelming since i was use to chill lifestyle then suddenly becoming like this . Managing time , working amd importantly being away from my family ant the same time studying. Its very scary
A lot of people believe that you can make enough for living expenses + tuition by working part-time and nothing could be farther from the truth. Thank you for sharing the real deal!
It is possible, but they will have to compromise comfort and convenience for a loooong time. At that rate, it becomes unsustainable and exhausting too. :( Just tryna give it straight, that way others dont have a harder time. I know we’re all trying to achieve the opposite, that’s why i feel obligated to share this video 💕😊 Thanks for watching!!
@@rrdancel what if i want to come for study and tuition is paid full but only have to live for myself, so will 20 hours per week be enough?
May I know what you did to sustain yourself while you study there? You mentioned that working part-time is not enough.
I just love to see her talking 😇
Great video! Lets say I have 10k to support myself during my first year of studies. Will working as a student be enough to save money to pursue a second one-year program?
Any thoughts on this? Tku.
i REALLYYY needed this . thank uuuu💙💙💙
It’s yours. Hopefully it helped, Enjoy your day.
Thanks for the info, it's very enlightening. One question though: is it breaching the rules if you do informal gigs? For example, if I have a part time job at a coffee shop and work the 20 hours per week as allowed and on my free time I take pictures and people want to buy them, is it ok to sell them?
As long as the hours add up to a maximum of 20 hours, it should be safe. ☺️👍
If i go this path.. 1)work permits(lmia job offer).. And then.2) i continue my study(two yr masters program).3) after that pr..
Hi Miss.. Can I Ask a Question
Because I’m planning to be an International Student In Canada
Ask you say in Your Vlog that part time job is not enough to sustain your Living, So Can You pls. share To me what kind of strategy you take or use to sustain your life as a student there in Canada. Thanks for your response 😇
Salary is low, like Mcdonalds only $Can16/hr u cannot sustain if u don't have rich parents or big savings coz rent alone is already high.
If anyone is planing to move Canada soon, kindly reply.. I have the same plans
