SUPER IMPORTANT NOTE FOR AMERICANS: I'm not sure if this is with everyone (I'm pretty sure it is), but my University (Calgary) only allowed a certain amount of U.S. loans to cover the Canadian Tuition that was 3x the cost of Canadian Citizens. It works out to approximately $1,900 per class, but my university only granted about $10K of loans for the first 2 years, and $12k for the last two years. That works out to about 5 classes and 6 classes per year respectively. THIS IS NOT ENOUGH TO COVER YOUR CLASSES IF YOU WANT TO GRADUATE IN FOUR YEARS. I made this mistake and my four year degree will take six years after a VERY difficult financial struggle. I did meet my wife here, so there's a silver lining, but just be weary and make sure you read all the fine print from your university if you're accepted.

@@rerand670 As an American, it did not and will not because it only allows a certain amount of U.S. loans to be accepted by the Canadian university. I'd make sure to double check your university webpage and the information regarding U.S. loans.

It’s completely true, you won’t be able to cover your monthly expenses AND pay your tuition by working part-time; if you don’t have the money to pay for your studies you basically have to ask for a bank loan and pay it during your student time, you’ll be in debt, yes, but in the long term it’s the best option I’d say.

Although all your videos are realistic, they have a negative note in them. I understand, its not a cakewalk, life in Canada is tough, as a student, as a worker or as an immigrant, the question is, where isnt it tough though? It is tough back home too. The hustle is real. Dont discourage people by just talking about the negative side of the country. The country has a lot more to offer in return and all the hustle is worth it! Peace !

Hey guys, she says a lot of truth about working here as an international student, you are restricted only for 20 hrs./week but one tip for you all, expand your network here and you'll be able to meet people who can hook you up with cash jobs (under the table/not declared/tax-free) this can really help you financially but be careful as work exploitation may occur and you are not covered by the law. Once get caught, it can jeopardize your status here in Canada, so be very careful.
And for Ms. rrdancel, thanks for sharing and putting up this information. I'm from BC and I know how expensive living here, especially in the main cities.
