It's been a Vox AC30 or a Boogie MKIIB for me these days. So few gigs lately where I can bring out the big Marshalls and crank. Sigh. I miss that! One thing I'd add is that a tube amp can just about live forever since they have so few parts and almost any tech can fix them. The more features an amp seems to have the shorter its lifespan seems to be. But if you're not thinking long term that might not matter at all. Great vid!

That's a great comment. Do you want an amp that will be around for 50+ years or disposable in 3?

I have sported a mullet, mohawk and a mop in my life. 😀

Dynamics people! Seconded: background music makes it hard to pay attention to what you’re saying.

4:00 Single channell solid state amp can produce a wider array of sounds/effects at a lower volume.

How would you rate and explain the differences between the following Amps ---> Marshall, Orange, 5150, Fender, Line 6 Amps?

My quick response as I am heading to work is, I am currently playing an Orange combo which I love for its versatility. 5150s are great if you can open them up. Let um rip, Marshalls have always been hit or miss for me, need to modify them or color them with pedals etc. my favorite is the 50 watt jubilee heads if you can find one. Throw a H&K tubeman 3 in line and wow. Then there is fender. King of sparkling clean, at least the vintage tube line. Also great if you want to add pedals as they seem to really let the pedals do their work with a clean pallet. And last line 6…fun to mess with, make computer recess etc. to me they sound fake turned up but in some headphones, lots of fun. That my 2, okay may be 3 and 4 cents.

As somebody who has played some amps, that was a great experience. I currently have the line 6 POD Go and HX stomp for two amps/extra effects and external pedals, I love my setup, I have also played some pretty killer amps too such as Marshall, Mesa, Matchless, VOX, Peavey Fender, etc.

I forgot about matchless. I was a matchless dealer for a short period of time they were way too expensive for my clientele but I love them.

Why is it called a guitar amp and not a guitar speaker when we're not specifically referring to the amplifier within the speaker?
