It's been almost 12 years since Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2 hit theaters back in 2011. Since then, the cinematic landscape has changed a lot, and J.K. Rowling has even authorized a play to be written about Harry Potter's life after the seventh book in the series. The play, known as Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, centers around Harry's relationship with his son, Albus Severus, who finds himself in Slytherin over at Hogwarts.
With nostalgia always holding sway over audiences, many fans have begun asking: will Harry Potter and the Cursed Child be a movie?
The Wizarding World property is thriving, with books still selling as well as the upcoming launch of Hogwarts Legacy in next-gen consoles. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery also profits from the Potter areas in the Universal theme parks. It's clear that the demand for more Hogwarts-related content is still there, and the studio is aware of that.
At this point, it seems that a live-action adaptation of Harry Potter and The Cursed Child is the best route if the studio really wants to continue telling stories about the beloved characters that fans know and love. Still, the reality is there are a lot of moving parts in play, such as the actors' willingness and availability, scheduling conflicts, and ultimately, J.K. Rowling's approval.
Continuing the story of Harry, Ron, and Hermione would be an instant boost for the franchise, especially now that there is a renaissance of nostalgia for well-loved franchises like Jurassic Park and Indiana Jones. Seeing these characters again could be a massive win for the studio.

Too bad it’s just different snippets from the og Harry Potter movies and Fantastic Beasts put into a sequence to come across like an actual movie teaser. They’re not making this into a movie because they didn’t think it would be as great as the OG series.

Also robert pattison is too old to reprise his role. Emma watson is a feminist anf rupert grint quit acting. The book deals with time travel so most of the actors are simply too old to play those roles. Hagrids actor died. Rip. Theres just too many reasons why a movie about this book wouldnt live up to standard. Great book tho.
We need a prequel showing his parents as kids
J.K Rowling herself said this book was made to be a broadway/theater show and never to be made into a movie in an interview, but this does look absolutely amazing and makes me wish it were real

But, I asked for follow ups to finished CLASSIC series within the last 10 (and plz no Marvel☠). Y'know, its not just me; there's a reason Robert Zemeckis hasn't made a follow up to Back to the Future or JMS has done anything with Babylon 5!
