- East Promise - 2 Day Adventure Bike Road Trip Around East Anglia
Road trips aren't normally our thing but as the guys wanted to do something whilst off for Christmas this seemed an obvious thing to do that wasn't gonna be too epic.
It was a great trip, lots to see on the way, so many lovely villages you could stop at, but alas there just isn't the time to fit it all in.
Thanks for watching - Mike

Nice to see local familiar sights.
Excellent video, I live in north cambs but spent my entire childhood holidaying in Happisburgh, and yes the lighthouse does still work spent a long time watching it from Sea Palling. The Norfolk and Suffolk coasts are my favourite places.
Smashing video Mike- love to watch your camping adventures and get lots of tips! Keep up the good work pal 👍🏍🏍👍
@@johngarrity7777 thanks 🙏
Superb video in my neck of the woods lovely to see. Liked and subscribed
Such an underrated channel! Just want to say a huge thankyou for the time and effort that goes into you videos Mike! You inspired me to buy my tenere 700 last month and I've already kitted it out and managed to try out a few of the lanes you've done in your previous vids thanks to your gpx files!! Hopefully I come across you one day out on the bikes as I'm a norwich lad, and can have a chat, pint is on me 🤘 keep it up bud
Many thanks, very much appreciated 👍🙏
Another great adventure displaying the great road riding across Uk .. will certainly ride that loop in future Mike thanks, Carlos from Kent 🍻
@@ADEngineeringUK hope you’re well buddy 👍
That red and white lighthouse is at Happisburgh pronounced Haysboro. Nice campsite there Manor Farm overlooking that lighthouse.
I did exactly the same thing six weeks ago 392 miles on my own on my Guzzi around East Anglia.
Nice one Mike. My fav part of England and nice to find a good campsite open all year round.
I’m another of your local supporters- all local places a great video -thank you
Never thought of doing a little tour like that in this country but looks great I think I will pretty much retrace your route when the weather picks .
Love your videos! Because of you I’ve now joined the trf as of last night and buying a bike in the next few weeks! Your insights into navigating have really helped me! Thank you!
You learn so much riding with others, hopefully you'll feel some benefit from it
Great video, these are exactly the sort of trips I want to do more of next year some little overnight camping tours. So one I will be adding to my list.
Great vid, looking forward to day 2!! Will download the gpx files as I'm looking for a shortish ride to do with a couple of mates from North Herts 🙂 Cheers
Enjoyed that little bimble mike , nice vid 👍
Hi Mike, great little video as always, I've already googled the places you've been to find the distances from my location. I heard you mention about going to Spain for sections of the tet, we've done the the trip 2years on the bounce and head to Portugal next year, but have decided to ferry it both way this time to give us more time as the trip through France is a slog unless you incorporate it into your holiday. Look forward to your next installment 👍
Yeah it’s difficult to know what to do - if we do Santander to Perpignan on the ACT then it a fair trek either way 🤷🏼♂️👍🙏
The first time we went to the pyrenees we rode down and back up, lots of miles not pleasurable and decided to do Santander earlier the year with a group off 4 and rode back through France, by the time we got to Calais we'd decided that we'll have a better experience doing the Santander return, off to Portugal next year to do some of the tet 👍
Excellent video. I’ve always pronounced it as ‘clay’. However, it is definitely pronounced ‘Hays-borough’! Looking forward to the next part.
As in the lighthouse? Well bugger me, I was way off 😆🤣
@ yes. It’s a bit weird I know!
@@stanleyknife1967 so many places in Norfolk and Suffolk like that 😖
We've always called it Happis burgh too😂 we camped there as kids 😊
@ 😄
Not sure uf your aware but if you ever on the Norfolk coast and need refreshments, just up the coast from Horsey other side of Waxham is a little village called Sea palling theres a cafe at the end if beach rd open 364 days a year ,really friendly staff . Good to know especially for this time of year.
@@samanthamoore7615 thanks 👍🤘
Stopped at readham campsite this summer great little site
@@lloydjones1834 yeah it’s lovely there, very tranquil and a decent pub
Nice video mate.

Great vid Mike. Lovely camera work too. For the Pyrenees trip, remember that late May/early June is when some of the snow covered mountain passes open again. Before then it’s a bit sketchy. Also download the latest TET map just before you go as it changes down there during the winter. I noticed that there are one or two new bits on this latest Pyrenees section and also, Cauterets a lovely little town for a sleep-over even though it’s not directly in the TET. I’ll be down there myself in late Spring (live an hour or so away). Are you doing it in the Honda or the Yamaha?
@@SteveInskip defo the T7 as we might ride home back through France (ferry to Santander to get there). We will be more likely on the ACT as it’s easier, to match the ability of some in the group, probably go next September before snow arrives. Not a definite plan as yet, lots to be thrashed out with wives etc, the new bags just give me a bit more room for a few luxuries on easier jollies 👍🤷🏼♂️
@@twowheeledadventuresuk2739September should be perfect. Kids are back at school. I’ve seen ADV bikes in the TET FR25 which would get you 1/3rd up France. I’m doing that fully in Spring so I’ll let you know how it is. Good luck with the wives (I’m presuming none of you have more than one each). 😉
@ 😂😂😂✌️
Hi mate, great video as always! Defo try this route out. What bike would you do the Spanish ACT on, thinking of doing the same next year hopefully but unsure wether to take the 450L or the Tuareg
@@DG-tj6xq thinking of doing the ACT Pyrenees but possibly do a bit of the TET from Santander to the end of the ACT, then just head towards Perpignan until we run out of time and then head up thru France home (drive home possibly take 3 days to Calais). From what I’ve seen the ACT Pyrenees looks dead easy and with the ride home probably best on the T7
We're about to have a three day break around Cambridge.. doing exactly the same type of ride. We are, I have to admit, not camping..
I was just looking at the rooms you can rent at Deepdale Camping and they are very reasonable, especially if you are sharing with mates, but you have to do at least 2 nights. On day 2 I pass thru Cambridgeshire, wish I'd had more time to stop at Ely. 👍
Great video as you say there is some nice countryside around Suffolk Norfolk not Essex so much but you can’t beat so many other parts of the country further north the better and south west is great too can’t wait for part two ride safe
@@nicholasjarrold8649 there's defo a lot less traffic in east anglia, I always find it a bit too busy down the south west, a beautiful place tho - north Essex has some lovely little villages and nice quiet lanes, north of the A120 is pretty decent
Great video it's all shot within about 30 miles of me so really interested in your take on the views around where I live. I see you are able to switch on your mapping app to what like an OS screen which app is that? if you don't mind me asking.
It's OS Map app, brilliant app, never lets me down, and the desktop tool you get with the subscription is an excellent planning/route making tool
Hi merry crimbo . Watched all your vids i have 1 question left with th t7 can I support a pavilion and enough Gear for 2. thx be safe
@@manda317 simple answer is yes - but obviously depends on how much kit and the 2 on the bike
Yep bit of a multi question I know but I'll go for it as it's only ever be my kids . Thx
How do you see where you're going ?
Huh...?
What jacket you wearing mate.
@@cliff1551 www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/552615 - got the trousers as well - stood up to the rain very well on day 2
Cley or Clay? Well it used to be Clay in the 19th century… then Cley juxta Mare! Now Cley (cl-eye) next the Sea, but I think Clay is a nice non-pompous honest ancient name. But then I don’t live there and not many real locals do either.
Yeah I passed a POI brown sign saying Cley Spy - which I thought must mean it's Cl-eye or the name wouldn't work! Thanks for the info👍
Is that really your view on the bike???
@@lauriebloggs8391 you’re seeing what the camera sees which is lower than what i see - if you look at a Dakar bike their set up is bigger and higher. Also having your nav device higher is safer as not diverting your eyes far from where you need to be looking, can never understand why so many have their device on their handlebars
@@twowheeledadventuresuk2739 Thank God!! It was blocking the whole road ahead! 🙂
