Valyria was built on dragons and slaves, which is why 7 out of 9 Free Cities still practice it (Braavos and Pentos do not, although only Braavos is truly free).
I've always been kind of interested in Tolos and Elyria (and Mantarys) - these remnants of "Valyria" itself that aren't really part of the Free Cities or Slaver's Bay. And you covered those in the "Valyria" video so I understand they only get brief mention here. But it's so odd: how they were technically not part of Slaver's Bay and the Ghiscari at first, but after the Doom, Tolos and Elyria kind of drifted into the political orbit of the rest of "slaver's bay" (the geographical feature). Wish the books would give more info.
It makes sense - places like Mantarys were sort-of first-line colonies. Colonies gotta mercantile - if daddy Valyria's gone up in flames then mama Ghiscar will have to suffice. Power follows the trade routes and the 'The Demon Road' is one of those - though I don't think there's enough caravan insurance in the world to get me to work that route.
I have founded this channel very informative. So thank you for that. Your channel, Grey area, the batt productions are the principal ones I see about game of thrones but I'm glad to see you are branching out 👍
Astapor has got to be the worst place to live in the whole series. If you live there your life is either hell or you are one of the most evil people on the entire planet. Basically, it is a city sized slave pen.

I was born in Japan, a free country. and then lived in China for a while, a total black hole of personal freedoms & free speech. The truth is, they were not that different in daily life, the differences emerged in more subtle ways, like I don't know Chinese for instance, which was definitely a problem (but technology and my family having money helped) or the lack of people using normal internet & social medias, a lot of people being so suppressed or brainwashed they have given up on freedom or prosperity and just work 996, air quality being pretty bad sometimes, or so on. Even it you multiplied all of that, Astapor would still not be comparable to Beijing in almost any way lol. but the idea that modern Arab nations are comparable to Astapor also seems ludicrous based on my experiences at least, where Beijing was kinda awesome with some downsides not hell on earth lol

Ghiscar founded mereen, yunkai, astapor etc, similar to Calaris, Novo Carthage etc The ice and fire wiki also deems the Ghiscar wars as analogous to the Punic wars. Rome grew in the shadow of Carthage. Just like Valyria outgrowing Ghiscar.
Daario in the books has a long three pronged blue dyed beard with a golden mustache. Please tell me how either one of them look similar to the books portrayal.

One is a Jaenara Belaerys that spent 3 years mapping Sothoryos and the other was a dragonlord Aurion from Qohor that led 30,000 men to try and reclaim the ruins of Valyria after the doom but was never heard from again.
I wonder how long after daeny and her dragons left slavers bay/bay of dragons did the slave masters take it back??? She had massive issues while she was there...and she had all 3 of her dragons since the night king had not killed viserion yet...she also had 8 to 10,000 unsullied and 2,000 second sons...she didnt get all those dothraki until right before she finally set sail for westeros....she left daario and the second sons behind to maintain order...she couldn't maintain order with her full might for very long...i highly doubt the second sons held it...there is also the fact that the second sons is a sellsword company...and sellswords dont have the best rep...also she sorta spurned daario after basically leading him on for a very long time....im sure daario tried to do as she wanted but i doubt it worked...im not even gonna mention how the show runners turned her from savior to evil tyrant in like 2 episodes...yeah those last 2 seasons in particular were a mess...i still enjoy them...but it still makes me angry how they took a wonderful program and rushed it so bad they completely butchered all the crap that came before!!! Never understood why the Unsullied were castrated. You would have MUCH stronger fighters otherwise. Is it because the masters don't want them reproducing? Therefore having an outside influence of being a brainwashed and dedicated soldier or something?
I haven't finished the vid yet, but I assume by cut you mean castrate. Testosterone isn't completely tied to the testicles. Women not only can be muscular, but have testosterone as well. Women just have more estrogen and men have more testosterone, but we both have both hormones. Muscle largely depends mostly on exercise and diet. For the most part, protein = muscle.
That's what people keep telling me about that's how the golden company managed to beat the unsullied at Qohor. That a unit could never be too full man because they lack testosterone which I think is just complete BS when you stop and think about it.

I like Dany but she makes many dumb decisions. Like staying in slavers bay when she got finally gets a army. Another mistake was refusing to use her dragon when she was being besieged my the slavers army.
