I think a huge part of why he didn’t pan out in the NFL is timing during that time it wasn’t nearly as common for nfl teams to use a bunch of different running backs especially a team with a dominant runner like Frank Gore. I think if he played more recently he’d have had a better shot in the NFL with the value of the position going down teams aren’t as willing to pay top value for RBs which gives more “depth pieces” opportunities to play significant snaps.I wonder if he was able to hold on in SF until chip Kelly got there if things would have been different.
He was on pace to tie or beat the all-time rushing record or at least take 2nd if he had played his senior season and achieved his season average. Think about this: 1800+ yards, 19 total touchdowns, while splitting time with De'Anthony Thomas, who had 600 yards rushing, 500 yards receiving, and 16 total touchdowns, and Kenjon Barner, who was a 1000-yard rusher with 11 rushing touchdowns. In his sophomore season, he had 1730 rushing yards and 24 total touchdowns, splitting time with Kenjon Barner, who had 550 yards and 8 total touchdowns, Darron Thomas, who had 500 yards rushing and 5 touchdowns, and Lavasier Tuinei, who had 360 yards from scrimmage and 5 touchdowns. In his freshman season, he had 1545 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns. His quarterback, Jeremiah Masoli, had close to 700 yards and 13 touchdowns, and Kenjon Barner had 370 yards and 4 touchdowns. It's rare to see players with his yardage, especially considering his junior season, when another 1000-yard rusher, Kenjon Barner, had 11 touchdowns, and another running back, De'Anthony Thomas, had 1100 combined receiving and rushing yards with 16 touchdowns. In his sophomore season, there were 1400 yards of rushing and 18 touchdowns from other rushers, and he still managed 2000 total yards (rushing and receiving) and 24 touchdowns.

The pictures in the yellow/black jersey are of Royce Freeman in 2016, not LaMike. Also the biggest reason he had reduced touches in his junior season was a brutal elbow dislocation in a game that I believe was his 3rd consecutive 200+ yard rushing game of that season
Glad to see he is a successful business owner of several franchises. Good stuff. Everybody is not going to be a professional sports standout. Even those who were, like him, standouts at the highest level of college football. Look at Tim Tebow and Johnny Football. It's just not guaranteed.
I remember so many backs from this era of college football..... Ryan Christian, Jake Sharp, Jared Hawkins, etc etc... maybe a video on RC, he was a stud for TCU tho.
When you go to college from high school you have to turn it up another level. And when you go to the NFL from Cottage you have to turn it up five more levels and James cannot do that, when he got to Pro, he was not even average. to tell the truth he just wasn't good enough.
it’s crazy because i’m looking at all time stat rushing leaders and lamichael james is the highest with 5082 rushing yards. if he played his senior year he would’ve been the all time leading rusher easily. here i am searching his name up on youtube and came across ur video
LaMichael suffered some sort of arm/shoulder injury late in his career at Oregon. Before that he had hardly ever fumbled the football. I believe that injury is what made him susceptible to fumbling in the NFL and ultimately what ended his career.
Oregon Ducks is my favorite college football team and LaMichael James was a BEAST I remember him and I thought he would go to 49ers and be at least a good player. And I think if he would of got a chance he would of been a good player. I guess if you fumble couple times in the NFL your done. What a shame. Killer Burgers.
I remember the day whenever they lifted the band on him that was a f****** good game my ears ring for a week when they let him back on the field the lead blew off that Stadium
I can DISTINCTLY remember an insane highlight where he uses LATERAL QUICKNESS to juke the waskington Huskies out of their shoes. Its on his youtube highlights, worth watching, its incredible. Huskies fans just hate, with no facts behind it.
Just an aside, LaGarrett was a big bruiser with good speed and had a decent few years with New England. But yeah, a lot of times, a prosecutor is just trying to put you away for years for a notch in their resume. If you fight a case without good representation, that's most likely going to happen if you lose. A lot of people get forced into those deals.
I live in Oregon and ran into at the Nike employee store and is such a cool guy he took a picture with my mom. He’s around the Beaverton Portland area all the time here In Oregon
Possible vid David Pollock Many will not know him but 2nd UGA player to be a 1st team all American in three seasons (1st was Herschel)...15th player in UGA H.O.F....Lombardi, Bednarik award winner and only player to receive the Hendricks award for best DE twice. Georgia's all time sack leader with 36 (places him top 5 all time in college football). Drafted by Bengals 1st round. As a rookie 2nd most sacks on the team and then ...... I live right next to one of LaMike’s killer burgers and my god is that stuff good. Miss watching him at UO. Nothing but the best to him
I think since you going on a Oregon legend tour then you should do darron Thomas his combo with Danthony Thomas is legendary 🔥🔥🔥
Im a huge Oregon fan and i appreciate all these video's on our great players. I would like to see a kevin white vid
Bro I totally forgot about him. He was one of the best I grew up watching
I remember so many backs from this era of college football.....
Ryan Christian, Jake Sharp, Jared Hawkins, etc etc... maybe a video on RC, he was a stud for TCU tho.
Hey Matt can you do a video on Jordan Shipley WR of Texas
When you go to college from high school you have to turn it up another level. And when you go to the NFL from Cottage you have to turn it up five more levels and James cannot do that, when he got to Pro, he was not even average. to tell the truth he just wasn't good enough.
@@calvinbrown8344 averaging 5 ypc isn't bad he just was behind a ton of good rbs, and he scored the td that put SF in the Superbowl
it’s crazy because i’m looking at all time stat rushing leaders and lamichael james is the highest with 5082 rushing yards. if he played his senior year he would’ve been the all time leading rusher easily. here i am searching his name up on youtube and came across ur video
LaMichael suffered some sort of arm/shoulder injury late in his career at Oregon. Before that he had hardly ever fumbled the football. I believe that injury is what made him susceptible to fumbling in the NFL and ultimately what ended his career.
Killin it Matt!!
We need a what happened to Devin smith Ohio state deep threat wide out love the channel man
This here! 💯
@@DaveWebb-ut8gf he averaged 5ypc and scored the td that got SF to the Superbowl
LaGarrette Blount had 2X1000 yd seasons, 6,306 career yds, 56 Td's and was a 3XSuper Bowl Champion. LaGarrette had a good career.
Turned his NFL money into a life time check. Sounds like a W to me!
Matt please make a vid on what happened to Tre Mason, he was a legendary auburn rb but disappeared

Do a show on what college produce the most Criminals that Committed serious crimes

Love the videos! How about a Chris Leak vid!?
He averaged 5ypc for the niners so there is that, he was behind some good rbs at SF

@MattBeGreat, if I'm not mistaken, Lamicheal James played briefly for da 49ers!!👍 "IF I'M NOT MISTAKEN
Lamicheal James played for the 49ers I used him in madden plenty times
Matt!!! We need a what happened to AJ Johnson(TN Vols LB) video
When I think of great college running backs, I think of Curtis Enis. Matt, cmon man. Show this man some love.
been waiting on this one
How his ex wasn't arrested for GTA, tresspassing, destruction of property, and harassment is insane.
I remember the day whenever they lifted the band on him that was a f****** good game my ears ring for a week when they let him back on the field the lead blew off that Stadium
Lamicheal is a successful business owner he was on the news
Matt I would like to see what happened to Aldon smith
Love the videos brother can you please do a video on John clay ?
I can DISTINCTLY remember an insane highlight where he uses LATERAL QUICKNESS to juke the waskington Huskies out of their shoes. Its on his youtube highlights, worth watching, its incredible. Huskies fans just hate, with no facts behind it.
Tennessee has trouble wrapping up on tackles see Joe Adams with arkansas's punt return
Imagine thinking I'm gonna steal his keys and run away from a guy with elite speed.
Believe all women 😂😂😂
Of course, the powers that be wouldn’t put out the truth!
Can not think of Oregon without thinking of him.
wow i had no idea. i did know he was a beast and wondered what happened to him
LaMike and Kenjon barner man. Had to be there
Just an aside, LaGarrett was a big bruiser with good speed and had a decent few years with New England.
But yeah, a lot of times, a prosecutor is just trying to put you away for years for a notch in their resume. If you fight a case without good representation, that's most likely going to happen if you lose. A lot of people get forced into those deals.
You should do a video on ex giants running David Wilson who’s career got cut way short. Dude had a lot of potential
Dude I didn't know that was his! That's bad ass.
Dude he got Drafted by the 49ers and played I like 3 or 4 seasons I believe it was around 2006 maybe
Sorry I got the Date wrong but he did get Drafted by San Francisco 49ers and played in the NFL
He was last introduced to the college football hall of fame
I live in Oregon and ran into at the Nike employee store and is such a cool guy he took a picture with my mom. He’s around the Beaverton Portland area all the time here In Oregon
Equal rights equal fights
Possible vid David Pollock
Many will not know him but 2nd UGA player to be a 1st team all American in three seasons (1st was Herschel)...15th player in UGA H.O.F....Lombardi, Bednarik award winner and only player to receive the Hendricks award for best DE twice. Georgia's all time sack leader with 36 (places him top 5 all time in college football). Drafted by Bengals 1st round. As a rookie 2nd most sacks on the team and then ...... I know what happened but you tell a better story.... tragedy, adversity, and overcoming them for a great ending.
Matt you a Alabama Crimson Tide fan right. What about Dennis Riddle and David Palmer.
