Personally, I've been very successful in life, in terms of everything (financially, personally, family, lovers etc) yet fall off a cliff, just to climb out. Ive taken nearly 33 yrs to realize I am worth the good and deserve to hang onto what I built...I'm now 34yrs old.

It started in college when is Coach Gary pinkel wouldn't discipline him after getting in trouble the first time. His coach did him a disservice by being too lenient on him and it's the reason why he's like he is today
My brother took in a young man back in 1992 or so because he was a very talented athlete that could have played football or basketball at the highest level. He was in a bad environment so my brother let him move in to try and keep him on the right track. My brother was his basketball coach in 6 to 8th grade. Up to his senior season he had offers from all the big football universities and could have gone anywhere and gone to NFL very easy. He was a running back and did play safety if it was a close game. He had a touch down in a game in the playoffs on a flee flicker on the last play of the game that won the game and played safety in championship and had interception at end of game that helped end the game. He was special but the high school gave him the grades till they won the championship but stopped when it was time for basketball cuz he did not have teammates to make it to state playoffs, which is a sad situation. He started to miss school and eventually dropped out. He did get his high school diploma and tried to play for a couple of junior colleges but he was selling drugs when he was home and was arrested and stayed in trouble and is still in jail to this day. I can attest he was a grade below me and all the hype was real he turned the whole hill crest school around. Funding, attention etc he didn’t have the drive. We played him in bball and football he had too many people around him that he couldn’t let go off.
I remember watching games when he was a freshman and getting so excited about a dude 2 conferences and 13 states away! Even when he transferred. I always followed him. Into the NFL....I understand players/people like that and have known a few myself. But man this one still hurts.
Went to the same high school as him. Hillcrest High school in Springfield Mo. I wanna say it’s sad his career turned out the way it did I mean this dude had all the talent in the world but he did it to himself.
The saddest part of this video is that he is completely capable of being the opposite. It is well within his capability to be the principled, disciplined and committed athlete we hoped he would be. You were not harsh on him - he threw a woman down a total of four stories. These videos should be requirements for any athletes who want to play at the higher level. Talent will only take you so far; talent is not earned. Discipline and commitment MUST be earned

I think it can come down to having terrible luck as well. In his case he just continuously made bad decisions. But for most athletes you only get one shot.. and any criminal charge is damaging to any inspiring athletes reputation. You can be put into one bad setting/circumstance and it not turn out in your favor at no fault of your own and it all be over. (Once again not in this instance)

I think he's worst decision was honestly going to Mizzou and staying close to home. Could've been completely different had he left the state and gone somewhere with a more structured environment. And I'm a Mizzou who was ecstatic to see him sign with us.
I was so pumped when he committed to Mizzou. I was in COMO every chance I got to watch him and he is one of the most dominant athletes I’ve ever seen hands down. Lebron is the only other person with the type of explosiveness I have ever saw in person, He was caught on campus smoking pot 3 times in the first 3 months and finally got arrested the 3rd time. It’s a damn shame that he might legitimately be the biggest waste of talent ever.

My friends older brother (who was 4 years older than me) said him and DGB were in the same grade and class in elementary school. Then DGB kinda disappeared and came back to Springfield 4 grades below him. Not sure if it's true but there's a ton of rumors that his coach got him a fake birth certificate and he was actually in his 20s in high school. Like I said, not sure if it's true but I could definitely see it.

Probably was gifted A LOT of things in college. And then, when you turn pro, you have zero knowledge of how to be accountable for yourself.
