I am an old dude, and that is one of the most beautiful cycles I have ever seen in my life and without question the most beautiful recumbent I have ever seen. Just too awesome for words. You should mass produce that thing. It's insane how cool that is. I don't need one but.....I want one. Bravo to all involved in this project.
Awesome clips Beno, since picking it up from you yesterday I have already attached the solar panel on the riding sections roof, put the ebike battery into its new home with its other off grid friends and rewired the battery and charging cable to accomodate the various methods of charging it via solar, inverter and mains power etc. let’s see if the zip ties and sikaflex hold the solar panel well enough so it don’t fly off, hehehe. Once again mate a big thank you to you Beno and Johnathon for making my dream into reality, as you know you were the only one crazy enough to build it for me, not a single company overseas wanted to touch this project and just as I was about to give up I found your website and gave you a call! Cheers.
Just amazing! This is real, 21st century engineering. An idea that sounds like it shouldn't work, but with the right design perfectly practical. Actually looks quite fun to ride! Great job.
Awesome to the extreme!! I've thought of this using an electric Carla Cargo trailer with an electric bike/trike/quad. SO excited to see the finished result!
This Build definitely has the potential to be "TUV" "HPVUV" Transport for the Pedal Kayak to the Water for example. Perhaps more than one at a time. Food/Coffee Vendor Vehicle. Farm to Market Cart. Factor in a possible suspension option for heavier loads. Modular Trailer system with slide in Bins/compartments and containers/totes. always the possibility for a Tandem Quad as well. Looks like a winner!
Ashley's rig is working really well. It's great to have an Aussie company building such amazing vehicles. I want to add a recumbent to my electric rideable shed now. I just took my Sportster 36v to the beach and back with a trailer. So much fun.
I had been looking for something like this forever! Such an amazing forward thinking build! My dream would be a mix of the two but smaller and fit for one person. Like a Solar/Human Powered #vanlife build. 😄
This is exactly what I looking for in years now. That is just really awesome and wanted to have exactly that for my own. Traveling and camping with my own like tiny house.
In the American pioneer days, families would head out across the frontier in a horse drawn covered wagon, everything they owned inside, a cow and chickens walking and grazing along side, and their trusty dog guarding the perimeter while keeping the cow and chickens moving along. You're recreating the pioneer potential. Nice work!
Hello Trisled! I am looking for ideas for building something in-between The Semi Apocalypse and the Ahoogah Tandem (A sociable Velo-camper). That will definitely be a cool project for our next trip around the world.
Beautiful work! I see that only one rear wheel is driven. Have you ever considered adding electric assist by putting a hub motor into the other rear wheel? I've thought about this setup before for a velomobile and am curious if anyone has experience with it.
nice job ,you guys put UK shame , innovation in bicycles , I've got a brox four wheeler your build is very good you need to sell plans like atomic zombie would increase cash flow with low investment
are you going to video record the fitout of your trailer camper, including the solar & electric wiring etc for public viewing? Very Keen to see your progress & final outcome.
Already started a video series of the fitout Kent, my latest video which I uploaded yesterday shows the beginning of it, that being said I am not going to be showing every little detail as there are a gazzillion such videos already online documenting these processes! I will however explain what I have done and the reasons why I did via video clips etc.
Hi Patrick, I have no idea sorry as to the weight of the recumbent! I’m assuming here that you mean just the riding section itself and not the semi trailer! For me to be able to weigh this beast with or without the trailer and with or without load will take some consideration and time to work out the logistics of such a task, perhaps a trip over to a truck weigh table might do the trick, but, then again they might not appreciate me and my rig rolling up so to speak for a on the spot alternative ride through weigh in…..!
@@offgridmojo They probably can't weigh anything that light. I use a luggage scale to weigh one end at a time, lifting that end a cm or so off the floor.

Brilliant!
I cannot wait to see this loaded up with panels!
Wow that's awesome can't wait to see the end product!
That thing is cool! Imagine towing that with my Rotovelo. Well, not fun going uphill.

I was thinking of building a trailer out of a hammock rack with an awning to go behind the trike
😯😍

Whats the price for one of these? I might be interested as well, but including your full suspension
yes cover this in solar panels put a bed batteries stove shower and everything else you need.
How much for a build like this just the fifth wheel trailer
Wonderful build ☺
Could you please let me know the weight of the recumbent. Thank you.

A board under one set of wheels and bathroom scale centre under board will weigh half, then do other half. Lock brakes on.
I'm from the United States I had a thought like that too my wife keep shooting me down
by the way what was the final cost for the prime mover & for the frame of your camper trailer?
My latest video gives the answer to your question Kent.
ich bin ein deutscher aus Deutschland
I see you came back to Earth there was a lot of curves on that trailer CAD design unnecessary
