This was awesome! The host really knows his gear and, importantly, was familiar with Propagandhi and their body of work. That was great to see. Thanks for sharing!
Christ give the guy a break. Why is it bad that he's excited and passionate about the people he interviews. If the interviewers were less into it I guarantee the very same people would be saying "ohh why do they not act more interested? They're such a dull interviewer". It's sweet that he's so excited and it's nice to see.
Its only because these interviews are so inconsistent, we are all here to geek out but I wish there was some structure to them. watched plenty where you are guessing tuning and string gauges
"How dare he geek out during an interview!" Have you ever listened to Propagandhi? They're like the punk equivalent to Rush, I would've freaked out too!
Hahah the punk equivalent of Rush... boy does that make sense. I finally honed In on “Progressive Punk” as my ultimate genre description for Propagandhi. Glad there’s finally a consensus building on what Propagandhi even is lol.
1: Both have incredibly talented musicians. 2: Both have stood out as innovators in their genres, influencing many younger groups and even their own contemporaries. 3: Both have conceptual or themed albums. 4: Both have a super dedicated cult followings. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY... Canadians, eh?
I enjoyed that interview, and especially that not only was it a cool insight into one of the best bands in the world but also that it was the interviewer's favorite band - it was cool to see the awe and reverence on his face - as, often in these interviews the interviewers come off as kind of fake. This was refreshingly genuine.
Love the enthusiasm in this interview. Propagandhi is a killer band that helped introduce the youth to great music, and gave us plenty to think about. They’ve done a lot of good things for people during their career. Definitely a highly influential and legendary band
All the hate on the interviewer. Get over yourselves, if I was excited about a band I wouldnt be able to shut up. also it's so great how canadian these guys are and how they talk. It's just the best. great rig rundown!
I don’t know, I think you handled this pretty well. Propagandhi is also my all time favorite band and if I had the opportunity to do this interview with Chris Hannah, I’d probably shit my britches. Fellow nerds unite!
Sulynn is definitely the most comfortable with the host's rapid fire geekery (in a good way). She is definitely the best part of the interview. She rips for sure and it's awesome that she also has such an interest in the gear side of playing.
Todd's gear explanation was punk as hell. Some whatever Ibanez, Ampeg head so it doesn't get thrashed, and a "this fuckin thing here" 8x10 cab😂 I love this band (and I Spy)
Been a fan since the 90s, and finally got to see them live last year. I felt exactly how the interviewer does. Nerded out so hard when I got take a selfie with Chris after the show.
I've been listening to propagandhi for 25 years, holy shit. I love those guys, Chris is so down to earth, such a kind human, I'd love to meet him someday.
Lauren M Yes. As a Canadian myself, that is a pretty typical Canuck accent. I never thought I sounded like him, but according to you Americans....I definitely do. Lol
That's definitely how Canadians sound in the Prairies, but nobody sounds like that on the West Coast. I've been told that people sound more California-ish here in BC.
I think he held his composer and stayed professional better than I would have. Propagandhi is a living legend still thrashing today. Been a fan since 97 and still have never gotten a chance to see them live.
Just came across this video. Have been a big fan of Propagandhi for a long time but my favorite guitar from any punk song was in 60 Billion Served when Todd was in I Spy. Appliances and Cars by them is really good too.
In case anyone is wondering....yes, all Western Canadians talk like Todd and we’re damn proud of it. It’s a FUBAR thing. Watch the movie if you want to know what I’m talking about :-)
I forgot to mention that my old band Millhouse out of San Antonio Texas opened up for Propagandhi back in 1995 I believe right before Less Talk or maybe it was for the Less Talk tour. My brothers and I hung out with Jord who was a really cool guy.
Fun Fact: "Boys of Summer" was written by Mike Campbell from Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers. Mike played it for Tom and Tom said "nah man, I ain't hearin' it", so it made its way to Don Henley. Don recorded it, and played it for his buddy Bob Seger, who said, 'yeah that's great, but you should have sung it higher. chicks dig when you sing high", so Don spent the weekend pitching it up higher and higher trying to find the right key and re-recorded the already finished track, which is the version we all know and love.
@@patrickclark3337 She doesn't need to be feminine. She is clearly a woman, she is referred to as female several times in the video. She definitely doesn't care that you can't get your pathetic micropenis hard over her.
@@patrickclark3337 she doesnt look male in any way. She's actually pretty just what we used to call "plain jane". Which isnt a bad thing. never heard of this band before , but ill be sure to check them out
I would rather have an enthusiastic interviewer who asks inciteful, refreshing and probing questions, than a bored, disinterested one who asks the same, standardized questions just to pass time.
See if you can do A Wilhelm Scream! Also really unique that they use AxeFx. I feel like more punk bands could benefit from using AxeFx or Kempers because they don't travel with the elaborate setups that most metal bands do (whenever have you ever heard about a punk band not called Green Day having a guitar tech).
They're so humble like they aren't some of the most skilled musicians in the history of rock music
This was awesome! The host really knows his gear and, importantly, was familiar with Propagandhi and their body of work. That was great to see. Thanks for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Interviewer: So Todd what are you playing?
Todd: A bass.
Best comment I have read ever!
I showed a guy this interview and now Todd is his spirit animal for that attitude
Never again will i be able to see a package of Ernie Ball strings the same way. Thank you, Todd.

The green day rundown was so dull! the interviewer was pretty dry. same with the techs :(
Its only because these interviews are so inconsistent, we are all here to geek out but I wish there was some structure to them. watched plenty where you are guessing tuning and string gauges
I think the interviewer did a wonderful job
Jenn Fiorentino Why am i not surprised to see you watched a Propagandhi rig rundown? Hope you’re doing well, Jenn!
agreed man, he obviously is trying his best not to nerd-out. But does a stellar job. fuckin eh
Amen to that. It's criminal how little attention these guys get. Best fackin band ever!
Hey Jen. Of course I'd see you here.
+Nate Cleveland yes
The most Canadian bassist of all time
I love that the interviewer is genuinely excited to speak to these guys.
"How dare he geek out during an interview!"
Have you ever listened to Propagandhi?
They're like the punk equivalent to Rush, I would've freaked out too!
Very apt comparison! I'm stealing that in the future.
Hahah the punk equivalent of Rush... boy does that make sense.

Chickens fart in the backyard and the P-Bass is a little bit overdramatic
I saw Propagandhi's first US show in a basement in Minot, ND, during a blizzard in the mid 90's and it's still one of the best shows I've ever seen.
I saw them play a gym basement in Minot like that same year too, with Spitboy! The Propagandhi / I Spy split is a favorite too.
That set list would have been amazing
Awesome video! Thanks PG for giving the most underrated band of all time some attention
Thanks for watching!
FINALY a killer punk band. Do more of this!

Right here with you on Prop - coolest band of all time. Loved that you geeked out on them.
Perry has fantastic taste in music. He always seems to get the really good band. Fantastic job guys. Thank you!!

Gratitude for the crunchy tunes and tasty waves!

Great guys, great interviewer, well done!
Perry great job as always you shouldn't apologize for being excited to do your job
You should interview Hot Snakes. John Reis and Rick Froberg have to of the coolest guitar setups Ive seen from a punk band.
The irony of an ad for cage free eggs before a Propagandhi video
I never realized I owned some of these legendary rack mounts; the BBE, the Maximizer
Used to share a jamspace building with these dudes, they're super cool.
Best fuckin' band ever.
Thank you so much! This totally made my day. I'd be nervous too if I was interviewing the mighty Jesus H. Chris!
Todd "The Rod" might be the best interviewee these guys have ever seen.
"This stuff, and that fuckin' thing there" lmao

The Rod is a beast
The Rod is a gift to mankind. He should be cloned for the enjoyment of future generations.

The evertune !! 🤟🏼🤟🏼🤟🏼 glad to see that band recognize innovation instead of bucking and remaining true to the ice age
Spice up your next party by watching a Rig Rundown hosted by Perry, and taking a drink every time he says "gotcha"
Todd is a fuckin' beauty.
Remember when he was using a Mesa Mark III back in 96 or 97, loved the sound back then.
