My first Aygo was a second hand one and has been with us 7 years. Little boot? Do not think so. We use it as a family car. The four of us have gone camping for two weeks and I was able to load camping table with 4 sits, 2 comfy camping armchairs, a big tent with 2 dorms (6 people tent) and middle central social ára, the 4 sleeping bags, blankets, clothes, food, electric fridge, etc... You must know how to fill the space and still keep the comfort and the space for the occupants. Neighbors couldn't believe it but I did it. I little of old Tetris practice and... Voilà! My husband never, ever argue with me anymore when I say there is space to place something in the car or in a room. ;-) Today Sep 2019 we are getting a brand new Toyota Aygo. I'm going to miss the old one which still has lots of adventures to offer even being more10 years old and never had anything serious. But my husband keeps telling me it will fail badly soon. I'm sad but C'est la vie!
Bought the grey express with red roof last week, 71.5 miles per gallon on the way home, 140 miles motorway drive. Zero road tax, just over 100 pounds insurance. Previous cars Alphas, cooper SD, Audi TT, Impreza WRX, Syline GTR. So do I like it, yup fantastic little car and will have it many years I'm sure 👍
I have the 107 peugeot but same as the aygo in engine and engineering. Great car and suits me well when lurcing around on small roads. Use little gas and seems reliable, brought it from a pensioner ,the realatives sold it and it got 22000 km on the clock ,like new and one third of the prize)No cam belt and hazzle.
Generally automated manual boxes are best avoided. The have tendency to be jerky changing gears.Stick to a torque converter (i10 for example) or a dual clutch automatic.
No, not realy... just bought a Fiesta St 182 cause its just my kind of car for driving in a crouded city like Paris. But i can see the value of the Aygo... cause you presented very well
I have owned four Aygo `s up to now 07 Aygo Black 3dr, 09 Aygo Blue 5dr 11 Aygo Go 5dr & my present car is YES! The new Generation Aygo xclusive 5 dr ,with machine finish alloys ,black back tints ,climate control ,X-nav, front fog lights , The only down side i think is NO SPARE Wheel just a can of latex & a compressor to pump it in ,ok if it`s a puncher in the tread ,if it`s in the wall of the tyre your screwed ! either way you will need a new tyre because once you pump the latex into the tyre .....Tyre firms won`t touch it /or they will at a cost but it is a new tyre works out cheaper ,the only good thing to come out of this is if it`s a slow puncture you can inflate the tyre via the compressor that comes with the latex sealant ,beats using a foot pump ! soon i will be getting my 17 reg Aygo Xpression white with red roof, red accents on 4x sides, blacked out back windows, Black alloy wheels ,with all the extras my present car has apart from the X-Nav ps I did buy a spare space saver wheel 45 quid which has saved me a lot of money well worth 45 quid !.
It can handle the motorways just fine, I do about 50 miles a day mix of countryroads and motorway and it does it all superb. Longest journey I did in a day was 170 miles all motorway and it preformed splendid.
@@dunkace I wish I had seen this earlier! I went for a Vauxhall polo in the end but I really did like the Argo I was just concerned it wouldn't handle motorways well. Thanks for taking the time to let me know!
I always tel every body if I got the money that's the only car that I will bye. Because I love toyota all my years. No other car for me. Only toyota!!!!!!
I'm due to hand my 3rd Smart ForTwo car back and want something with 4 seats. This Aygo is a serious contender. Will be interesting to see how it stands up to the VW Up and Hyundai i10 though.
I largely agree with this wee test. It isn't sporty, but nor is it boring. I've gone for a Citroën C1 though to get a roll back roof. It's still a Toyota though...
Yup massive oops! One point off losing my licence as I always two years shy of the passing my test. It was also my first trip alone to London. Thinking of getting the new civic SR 1.0 Turbo or the 1.5 Sport..what do you think (I have always watched your review)
40-50 MPG around town. So about 60 on the motor-way? Not bad. I like the car but am 6' 2". I have a Toyota Starlet, the Aygo's predecessor (22 y.o. and not a single bit of bother). Again only trouble is getting in and out of it when you're over 6'.
I'm 6'3 and drive a 95 1.0 liter Geo Metro (Suzuki ) here in the states. The reason I got the car is I couldn't believe I could fit in it ( and get in and out of it ) fairly comfortably. And I'm long waisted so I also couldn't believe I could wear a hat in it still without touching the roof.
Its a little jerky in the first two gears but its massively improved. I've been driving the older mk1 model auto for the last three years and have just bought a newer model. I have to drive automatics only for various reasons.
I've tried both auto and manual and went for the manual, here is why. The auto is less efficient than the manual, it's not terrible but I never managed to drop bellow 5.5L/100Km. The manual is better as I average 4.4L/100Km or less. The auto is less slower to react (which is super annoying), you'll see that when you try to over take someone as the gearbox tries to figure out what to do...down shift one gear?! two gears!? hold the revs or not. Also it holds the gears a while longer (one reason it's less economic), like you go down hill and instead of up-ing the gears it decides it's good to stay on 3rd and 4.000Rpm. Last the first gear is jerky and you'll notice it when you have to park snugly. Overall the auto is light years better than the old one and is decent, but if you can drive manual I'd suggest it instead.
Thinking of getting the X Press trim as my first car. Would like to test drive both manual and semi automatic. What do people think of the semi automatic version?
If you are talking about " more power " modding , When car companies put out a one liter car they usually eeek everything the little motor has already to make it drivable. Any power mods usually only net you like 2 or 3 % more power . So its just not worth doing in my experience with 3 cylinder 1 liter motors.
My daughter go one 2 mths ago as her first car. I have driven it quite a bit, I'm impressed. It's a 15 plate. I can do 130km on motorway, if I want but the speed limit is 120kph. It's white. My daughter loves it. Only thing was, it did'nt come with a spare wheel or a jack !! Not good. Though I have a new Suzuki Baleno and that did'nt come with spare wheel or jack either.
If I have to believe what the car is telling me about average fuel consumption it's about 5.1L/100KM. Not bad,. But I drive a lot on the highway wich is 100-130 KM/H. With city driving it's gonna be 5.3L/100KM. And i'm not the most economic driver around so I think this is what you should expect. Sorry about metric values, I'm a dutch guy but I hope you can convert it.

Mine is 9 years old now and has never failed an mot, the levels of all the lubricants are the same as the day I got it also, amazing little car.
You should change your oil every 10k because it can degrade and get thick and cause problems. 😉
