@@rassamshareef4227 i love the percussion in the saitama version and the stripped back nature in the intro. In contrast this version is completely in your face while saitama is more subtle. That aggressive synth sound, the thumping bass line and pounding kick drum in this version gives the song a whole different energy, its crazy hie two performances of the same song can vary so much but thats the beauty of Radiohead, they are so versatile.
@@evangarry3525 You just described everything I loved about the saitama performance. Just the least amount of notes so careful picked and crafted making it sound larger than life itself is what I love most about Radiohead. Sounds a bit precious. But it really is like painters in the dark. I can completely see why this one speaks to you more, though. I don't mean to hero worship but they try so fucking hard every single time. They're just all right there. Every time.
@@rassamshareef4227 exactly they’re in my opinion the best songwriters of the past few generations by far. @@evangarry3525 definitely, have you seen the notebooks thom had? and i remember him saying in an interview that paranoid android had 40 different little versions scattered around his notes. and jonny doing every instrument on the planet. i'd be damned if that kind of obsessiveness and passion from every member doesn't create the best work they could possibly muster. anyways, cheers mate. not everyday i get to talk about radiohead like this. you're someone i'd grab a beer with.
Johnny getting Savage with the live remix of Thoms vocals on the fly. How Thom can remain focused without bursting out laughing is beyond me. Genius :-)
This was an absolutely sick performance; I loved the transition so much, that was amazing. But I'm wondering why his tone of singing is so different during Idioteque when compared to the 2003 Glastonbury performance and also compared to the album version. One of the reasons Idioteque is my favorite Radiohead song is because of how desperate and hopeless he sounds while singing it, which is an absolutely crucial mood of the song. In this performance, it shifts the mood to a much happier, lighthearted tone, which is fine, but I really wish he sang it in a way to portray the hopelessness of the situation in the song.
Michael Santoro I wish I could cite where Thom Yorke did say this quote, but he did say "Idioteque is one of the most happiest songs we ever wrote". In your defense, I do think it is a hopeless and broken sounding song. It's like somebody Is having a panic attack!

Yes, but I don't like his live vocal rendition of Idioteque to be honest. The band itself is phenomenal of course.
