It will get better but for now try a cane or something for some support it helped me :) also you can use nail polish remover to take the polish off but it has to be acetone free or it will melt it a bit (not as bad as it sounds)also you're amazing I love your videos!
Shoe horns work really well for getting a shoe on a fake foot. I could do it even as a little kid. But yea, socks are 100% necessary. The good news is, you don't have to change your socks very often. I keep a spare key in my shoe, in case I get locked out.

I lost my leg in 2012 I recieved my second leg 2 days ago and man was it tight! Actually really tight hurt like I lost my leg all over again. If you have any questions for me feel free to reach out. They said I would never walk again and now I climb ladders and back to moving and keeping up with normal people so keep up the good work. 👍
Im a right trans tib as well and have the same setup, was on a hydraulic ankle for 3 years, then got my new blade ankle. I find the blade way more comfortable. I am on my feet 40hrs/week for my job and it works for me. Good luck girl❤️
I am a left leg BTK amputee and after 4 years I still have phantom pains. your great attitude will really help with your recovery.. be careful if you sweat under the rubber sleeve because it can cause a reaction. they have socks that go on your stump to keep the sweating down. they are like little tee shirt material things. I could never get flip flops to work..

Jo - because you're at a high altitude, you'll find your leg will swell more than if you're at sea level. It's the same as when people fly. I wear leg splints and have swollen legs because of Lymphoedema, so I empathise. I am very prone to pressure sores - another thing you need to be vigilant about. Mine hospitalised me twice through infection.

Happy B'Day Jo. You could name her Jean. The next socket version can be Skinny Jean(s). Please be patient. Short periods in socket will move you forward, one step at a time. Has your prosthetist suggested moving to a pin in 3 or 4 months? That silicon liner with a suction suspension outer sleeve starts to constrict the knee as one progresses. Knowing a pin is in the future helps one endure the suction suspension sleeve. But, you need to be fully healed for a pin. My wife loves her Coyote Designs Short Pin. 5 clicks and she know she is settled in. Save Sunshine for when you get a more final socket is 6 months or so. Then, you can forever more be Walking on Sunshine. Your old hardware will be very useful. The next to last socket can be fitted with your first foot and pylon so you have a shower or back-up leg. My wife, at 5 1/2 months has daytime Eileen and night time Eileen. Daytime Eileen fits snug with minimal layers. Night time Eileen is for quick trips from bed and first thing in the morning when she has a bit of fluid to walk out. After make-up and breakfast, night time Eileen comes off and daytime Eileen fits with less sock layers. I look forward to the day you are fitted with a pin suspension in a slim socket so you can wear your usual clothes. Then, you WILL be walking on sunshine. Have you picked out a fabric for your laminated socket? You are already smiling like sunshine. You are going to be just fine.
