Great video. Whenever I run butts with my box I run a 10 on both sides of the tape and let dry. Coke back with a 12 down the middle and both sides again widening it out even more. Then I usually skim the finish coat by hand. To each their own because i don’t have a 14 box.
nice looking flat boxes can I try one
No , you have already too many toys to play , let other kids have them too , dont be greedy
Great Video ! What do you set the 14" Box at ?
Great video. Great tools!
Thanks guys.but I find it quicker to do butt joints by hand. You can go as wide as you want or need by hand, and you need 2 coats.
Agreed. I boxed my butt joints for about 25 years before I finally gave up. There's a ton of reasons to use either method but the fact is, if you're good with a trowel, doing it by hand is faster and better quality.
Another great video thxs 😎👊
Great video helped me a lot thanks. Columbia tools all the way
I've done this technique bit find in the end I have tapes flashing
More videos 👏💪💪
what setting in the 14?
Hi Did you you set the 14 box to what number?
4 or 5
Should have told him zero
People brain freezing
Sigh. Everyone's comments are based on their own boxes and they are all different. You'll need to experiment. Make sure you experiment with new blades in your boxes.
Will this work for painted ceilings?
Yes. However, you will need to "tie in" the butts joints later. I used this method for about 20 years. It's a great method to use as you develop your skills with a trowel. These days I only use a trowel though. The speed with a trowel continues to improve for decades and it'll end up being the quicker method.
I always have to push so hard on 10 fatboy box. Is my mud to thick or just the box
Mud is too thick bro. Gotta make the mud a little more smoother with water, I normal use 2/3 sponges of water for 1st coat. Use a little handsoap/dishwater soap to prevent fish eyes from coming in your mud. Mix your mud good too bro, for a solid like minute, 2 minutes. You can't mix it for 20 seconds, lift your mixer up & down while it's spinning & it should be 10x better for you man.
@@its_mr_clutch Thanks man appreciate it. Will try that. Cheers from west Canada 🍻✌
@@Ocanadakiterpls don't use dish soap lol it's been proven to weaken the bond with the tape 🤦 it's a wives gale
