One thing that I am most fond of her work is her use of flutes. She really thought about how its addition could elevate her songs to a higher level, and that is clearly evident in "Polyblue" and "Fare Thee Well". Moreover, there is only so much you can do and evoke with a guitar and keyboard. She changed up the formula in places to great effect. The guitar riffs are also mesmerising, her vocal delivery disarmingly soft and dewy
I'm amazed that an artist like Jessica Pratt exists today. Her music, voice, & whole essence take me back to the late '60s (think Buffalo Springfield, Laura Nyro, & Joan Baez). Unfortunately, deep & meaningful music like this has pretty much disappeared from the mainstream. I desperately wish that band shows like "America's Bandstand" that kids would rush home to see every day after school still existed because they would often feature lesser known talents, like Jessica, who were then exposed to a larger audience. Surely today's kids don't dislike deep & meaningful music any more than '60s kids? Maybe they just haven't had the same level of exposure.
i just got into Jessica's music last year spotify brought me there through my relative likes, she is a real diamond in the rough, music with lyrics with meaning, a story, a feeling, we have to dig for original sound today ,im glad i found her music it really is haunting, it moves me. Looking foward to hear some more of her music soon.
As a skater and a huge fan of her work, I absolutely loved this. I kinda like skating to easy listening stuff like her work. Her last album was on the top 10 of my 2019.
Because it's not the Take Away Show's esthetic. It has to be raw, only a little camera and several microphones, shot in a couple of hours with no budget ;)
jessica pratt is my queen
Jessica Pratt is cool.
I love Jessica's voice and music. This is fantastic! Such a sweet sound.

If you don't know him yet, have a try at Chris Cohen. Just like Jessica, I think he won't disappoint you.

Will there be more songs from her, @LaBlogotheque ?
What's a descriptive word for her voice? Is that what lilting means?
Have always wondered how to ask for this kind of singer
That's an answer I'd like to get so I'll just hop onto this thread with my hopes haha
her voice is what i imagine a will-o'-the-wisp sounds like. she has a will-o'-the-wisp voice.
Earth angel?
@@Mark_Bayer nah. I'm call it tortured child voice
I've always told my friends she sounds like a witch. (In a good way)
good
wait, was this overdubbed? the sound quality is so good and dude's casiotone doesn't seem to be plugged into anything...
Is that Viserys on the flute?
Orestis Psomopoulos nope! Margot Mayette! :)
everything looked like this in the 2000s
I'd say it looks very 1969/1970.
💔
Does anybody know what camera was this shot with?
She sounds like if Cindy Lauper and Armando Manzanero had a baby😄 I love it
LMAO true
Hey Blogothèque, did you only shot one song of her on this session? =(((
