re upload withoutwatermark. blade just over 4 inches. only ounces, well made sheath. 3/16th stock, full flat grind, differential heat treat 1095, 56-58 rc. that's a 10/10. its a lightsabre on food and blasts thru small logs with ease. the scallops on the micarta are a comftorble touch. I would buy it again!

I just received mine today. Smokey Moutain Knife Works shipped super fast. The knife is quite nibble, easy to work with, and a fantastic slicer.
I cut a few different notches and this blade made short, easy work of the task. The blade came from the factory extremley sharp.
This knife will now be a permenent fixture in my field craft and rendezvous kit.

Good review, I'm considering buying the JG5 this week as a my bushcraft go to knife. Question, is the spine a sharp 90 degres, will it bite into a ferro rod well? Thanks!

thank t-roy!! it will trike a ferro rod, , but it could really benifit from a few strokes of a file, then it will be very effective,

The JG5 was designed by James Gibson. Rowan is the treatment. It is copied after the Nesmuk. He would have never used it to baton.

its amazing slicer!! any full tang knife should baton. if a mora companion can do it. this should. just showing wha tthis blade is capable of doing
