I would love to disassemble it but you need to send it to the backers first, don't you think ? Like, you know, those peoples that give theire money to you 3 years ago ..
It's been years, I don't think I'll ever see the product I've ordered and at this point, I've just accepted that this was either a scam, or a well meaning idea that overestimated their ability to produce.
The pandemic didn't help, and also mega corps buying up suppliers and manufacturing capacity. Also, start up money dried up when interest rates went up. It's hard enough starting a normal business. Starting up a AR/VR business in those circumstances is even harder. The tech is there, the passion seems to clearly be there, and they've been transparent about funding problems along with the difficulty getting manufacturers to produce the smaller number of headsets. They have shipped something hundreds of headsets. But it seems they're having trouble getting funding for the rest of em'. So I would say it's the "well meaning idea" option for sure.
As unfortunate as the delays and things are, this is a nice display of goodwill and display of the open-platform mentality, building it to be easily accessible and repairable, and publicly releasing an official decon for users/repairers. Wishing yall good continued luck on the rollout in the midst of all the challenges that presents. Edit: As another person suggests, it would be nice to see a rebuild as well with recommended process-- A couple of elements look like they might be a little tricky to get situated correctly again, like the fit for the hinge plate and the front section, or reattaching the ribbon cables and reseating the lenses

I forgot this thing existed. I hope you guys can become the framework or fairphone of VR eventually.
I'm afraid, by the time I get my transparent Lynx headset, the R1 will be just an outdated junk. Something like Quest 1.
nearly there already
Not being top of the line doesn’t make something junk.
@@Snaphoo , but not being top for 3 years does!

@@aZero_inf Third, having the same issues. I'm afraid I won't get neither the money nor the product.

Thank you.
Looking forward to experimenting with this someday
This product is not released yet, what a joke and lack of consideration for bakers who kickstarted the company!
I''m really looking forward to it
