Sadly I had bad experience with S1 new, it worked for half a year with like 20% success rate of a print and totalled the nozzle twice since, so I just decided to keep the printer as laser engrave only. Ah also apparently I had some old motherboard even though I bought it 1.5 years ago new and it didn't let me do regular firmware updates, and I had to find a cropped firmware under some sketchy link under someone's video :(
The stepper being that hot is not a stepper problem. It's probably a mechanical issue with the stepper working way too hard, or an overvoltage in the board. Contact the support, they'll help you.
Yeah but what you got was falsely advertised. Me too. I just got 2 from them, and they're not easily repaired. Not as advertised at all. I made a video of mine, you should take a look at this mess.

I’ve heard lots of stories like yours, they are very much a gamble in every sense.
