Had mine for a week now. Printed lots of my custom designs in TPU and soft ninjaflex on this printer with great results. My watch strap broke yesterday so I designed a replacement and now my watch is back on my wrist with blue 2-piece TPU strap after a 2 hour print last night. The direct drive is working great and I agree with your review.
@@pmf2910 I use mostly prussaslicer, also cura and simpleslicer. Lychee for resin printing. For designing, I program my shapes in OPENSCAD. Otherwise you could use freecad.
@@fluiditynz what sort of computer should I look at for running those programs? I’ve been told 16gb ram, i7 processor, maybe even rtx3060 graphics card, what would you recommend?
I've been reading that this printer sort of messes up the edges of prints , is this true or would you recommend it to someone like me looking for their first printer
I received my S1 Pro on the 3rd of June. Assemble was a breeze. Worked very well out the box. I have printed all sorts of calibration files and very pleased. My old Flsun I3 was a real finicky machine to set up and wouldn’t hold settings for more than a few days. I highly recommend this printer and would buy again if needs must. Working on lithophaned as getting great results. PLA and 0.12 layers. Great review. Liked and subbed.
I have 1 and can't get it to stick it just either doesn't stick at first or snags the print after a couple layers and drags it out of place and you have to stop the print
Got it as my GoTo Printer as a total beginner, works like a charm, but so much to learn about 3D printing! Started with some Eryone PETG and I'm exited for my first swap to other filaments like flexible ones.
Thanks for the excellent review. I think I’m going to get this printer. Looks like probably the best option for an all in one, ready to use out of the box and enough of a user base for lots of upgrades in the future. Appreciate the ability to also print nylon and polycarbonate for functional prints.

At first I thought you were talking too fast, but to get through all that helpful, factual and important information, you had to talk fast. Thank you for your brilliant summery/review. 5 star.
Great glad it helped! You can try reducing the playback speed to 0.75x - UA-cam does a good job on this. And you can enable captions - I have full transcripts for every video.
Watching this just before bed time. Thinking strongly of buying. My old Robo3D will not connect with software all of a sudden. Am subscribed, intend staying in touch. Thanks for posting.
Thanks - very glad you liked it! If you can stretch for the Pro I would - especially if you plan to add a textured PEI sheet (which I'd recommend). The LED lamp is more useful than you think and you also have the option to print high temp materials :). Still I'm sure you'd be happy with either!
Thanks for a great review. I'm looking to get an FDM printer towards the end of the summer and the S1 Pro is my current top choice. I like the option to use high temp materials.
I got of of these after owning a Davinci 1.0. Needless to say, the s1 pro was a breath of fresh air but It was not too long before I ran in to some minor issues. The biggest issue is that the bed knobs don’t stay put - you really need to add locks to them. Another issue, slightly less critical, is that the gantry really needs to be supported like the cr10. Not a big deal and easily fixed with some files from printables. Also have had some issues with the Z axis wheels needing adjustment slightly more often than I would expect, causing the nozzle to grind on prints when mis adjusted - also not a big deal but worth noting. Can be hard to chase down issues if you’re new to printing. Another issue that I’ve run in to in the long run is that the cooling fan really is not good enough.
Great review. I am new to 3d printing and still researching. My needs are to print 1/150 scale for model railroad. I’m not looking for commercial use. I’ve watched so many reviews but I still don’t know what printer would be best for my needs. Since you had a very clear and good video I thought I would ask your opinion. Thank you.
Thanks! If you need a lot of detail perhaps look at a resin printer. For FDM - I''m just testing the Creality K1 Max which is very good - great if you need to print bigger structures - quickly!
Just got mine yesterday. It's my first 3D printer. So far, I've only printed with TPU. I'll be trying ASA tomorrow after I finish the enclosure I'm making. First impressions are pretty darn good.
I couldn't find a link for your profiles anywhere. I've had mine 2-3 weeks still trying to dial it in, would like to compare settings, see what's different.
You can just open those .3mf files - they'll open the model with the settings I used. You can then delete the mode and add your own to try my settings. If they work for you, you can save them into your own profile.
I am new to printing and dont generally want entry level I am looking for a mid range printer the prints most matiarals and so far I like this one very much.
Very thorough review -- I know it's a bit of a tired trope, but it definitely feels like Creality did their best to make the "iPhone killer"... I mean "Prusa Killer" with this model. I'm looking for my first printer at home. I'm a fan of Prusa's approach, and it's the printer I have most experience with at my makerspace, but with (almost) feature parity I find it difficult to justify spending hundreds extra on a MK3S+. So I I'll be getting the S1 Pro, and then start saving up for a Voron kit.
Thanks. The MK3S+ is a good printer - you're paying extra for the out the box working profiles and branded components. And their support - athough this is very much geared up to getting news users up and running.
@@TheTechnologyMan Yeah I think if my handy but technically somewhat inept father asked which printer to add to his workplace, I'd definitely recommend a Prusa.
Can't get the bed to level. I've done everything. Ive used ABL multiple times and get different results everytime I print calibration squares. Heard this machine has CR touch problems and should have listened. Will be returning if possible
I got the exact same model that you did, but my firmware must be old or something, as mine has no leveling screen whatsoever. We can't level, leveling on the ready screen doesn't work, and it hunts like it is printing, but nothing comes out of the extruder. What do I do? This is my son's Christmas present.
Been looking for a printer to do PC without paying excessive price this seems like a good choice - it's annoying that Creality don't have some kind of easy compare chart do you can see the differences between what are so similar looking and similar named ender 3 series printers. Your review makes clear the significant differences - the ability to do Polycarbonate and Nylon is very attractive to me as i would like to do mechanical parts that could be exposed to heat and higher stress than PLA or PETG or ABS could easily handle. The lack of an enclosure is seems like something that can be overcome by the users putting the thing in a cardboard box while they print if they need a warmer ambient temp.
It's a massive upgrade! I'd still get the Ender 3 working if I was you. A glass bed may be an easy solution? I use a magnetic bed with my Ender 3 - and have used some tape as shims underneath the PEI sheet to get it as flat as possible which also works pretty well.
Cant get it to print. Ive been leaveling cold though maybe ill try hot also i was using the z axis butten not the dials. Im a noob lol really need some help
The Facebook forums are your best bet. Or Creality support. If you go back to the start and follow each step I show - you'll get it I'm sure! Good luck.
0.05mm increments for a 3d printer is pretty good mate, thats all you really need, the print tolerances on these things are like +/- 0.1mm so 0.05mm to set offsets is all you need tbh
Question for you guys & Gals I had my Pro for a week now printed flawlessly until tonight I turned it on and a blank screen xo went to site to get update from Creality web and it will not boot try 3 different sd cards and still no luck anyone have any idea why this is happening? would appreciate any help thanks in advance
I'd contact Creality in the first instance. But if you're trying the firmware update, follow Creality's instructions and try updating the screen firmware first.
If anyone is still in doubt about this printer, I can say the hardware is top notch, but I found the firmware to be lacking. The auto bed levelling isn't that good out of the box for instance. I've switched to using Klipper and it has since become my favorite 3D printer. It can print quite fast (I print at 80mm/s) with excellent quality once calibrated. I recommend it to people that are ready to tinker, but not for complete beginners.
Hello, very detailed info. Congrats. I’m a newbie to 3D printing and considering this one but I’m a little bit afraid of the noise level. Any advice on this matter?
Thanks! I've definitely tested noisier printers! But it's very hard to say whether the noise would bother you or not. It depends how close you are and what you're printing for example. My Prusa Mini+ and FLSUN SR are probably the quietest printers I own.
I'm looking to replace my old Ender 3 pro for something with direct drive, preinstalled auto bed leveling (or not, I could grab the BL touch from my old printer), a proper bed texture, nozzle that'll go to 300ish, etc... This printer seems to check most boxes, out of the box. 🤣 2 things are keeping me hesitating, though: - Sound levels: if possible, I'd want a silent out of the box printer. stepper drivers are one thing... but fans typically are the other - ability for cooling upgrades. This partially goes hand in hand with sound levels: replace fans and ducts to perform better ( around the nozzle, rather than just one side) and more silent is something I'd be after - but this printer seems to be pretty rough to mod that way. Thanks for the review, very all-round and detailed.
Glad you liked the video. Unfortunately the PSU fan is always on so you can't tick the silent box. Prusa Mini or Prusa MK3S are silent when not in use.
What was the adhesive you applied to the bed called? Im having problems with my prints sticking and have been trying to find a good product. Thank you in advance!
Not / never done 3d printing very tempted by the ender 3 s1 pro as i need to print some structural Parts for a plasma cutter and the cost to import fro Usa is not far off the purchase of a printer its self Thanks for the review
Sorry I've not tested any fully enclosed printers so can't recommend one. But making a simple enclosure is fairly straightforward - or there are cheap ones available on Amazon. I know not the same but should be ok for ABS and carbon filament.
What would you recommend between the s1 pro and the kobra 2? I'm going to get one of those, I care more about quality over speed. After your review seems s1 pro is better.
Wow! this is one of the best Ender 3 S1 PRO review (Yes, I've watched ALL of them, including languages I don't understand). Mine is supposed to arrive today, but got delayed and rescheduled tomorrow! :( This is going to be my first 3D printer! I have questions.... Where do we connect the laser engraver? I saw 1 comment from another video that it goes where the light is connected... Is that true? I have to disconnect the light to be able to use the laser? BTW, next time try their chat option on their website. I was able to chat with them instantly and they even gave me all the files and instructions to upgrade! But he did not answer my question regarding where to connect the laser.. Thank you! again! great review! SUBSCIBED!
Thanks for the support - really appreciated. It's going to be a great first 3D printer! I don't have the laser engraver but believe you just swap it with the FDM print head and attach it with the 4 bolts. Yes you'll have to plug in into the expansion port in place of the LED. Just found this: ua-cam.com/video/bS-2IkxtYxI/v-deo.html. That's a great tip - I didn't find any chat option will try that next time!
@@TheTechnologyMan Thanks for the response! Printer is out for delivery now! cant wait to go home after work! I also decided to order the laser module last night, and is scheduled for delivery tomorrow🙂 I know 1.6w lasers are not that powerful. But I just want to use all the features of this machine
Hi, i know this is a coment is a bit after the posting of this video but this sound like a great printer so i bought it. But i currently have some problems with it. FOr some reason, the fillament is not sticking to the board even thought i leveled it. I dont know if this caused the issue but since I live in the US, i didn't know the 230v and the 115v switch so it was stuck on the 230v when i first started using it. SO i think since I had it on 230v and my house is 115v, this might have been the problem since i've tried for 1 week on 230v to print things and just learned I have to switch to 115v. Luckily i have insurance on this printer and i can return it but i sorta want to see if my guess is correct on why my printer is not working. Thx and this was a great video and very in depth. Also for the creality slicer. did u change any of the start/end gcode in the machine settings or no since i have heard about m420 and g28/g29 and have you tweaked the creality slicer print settings at all(if so can i see them by chance). I am also self taught so this is all new to me since i just started 1 1/2 weeks ago. Thx again. You made my journey alot easier. :)😀
Unfortunately it's likely you would have done some damage running at 230V. Is the bed actually heating up? In Creality Slicer you should be able to use the presets for the S1 Pro.
@@TheTechnologyMan yes the bed heats up and the version I got is the latest for the printer. I use Cura and the presets you posted in the comments. I also tried different start/end gcodes. Imma try to tinker with it during this weekend but no matter what I will return the current one and buy a new 3 S1 Pro. At least this time I will have enough experience to do it correctly.
Also, I forgot, umm do I have to calibrate the in/out extruder setting or whatever it’s called since I tried printing my own and the first layer wasn’t all that smooth but the prints that come with the creality work but some of mine doesn’t or I just have to set the speed to 20% for my own and sometimes creality’s prints if creality’s prints some times also not work. Lastly, for the cura slicer. should i just use the dfault setttings and starr gcode that is included in cure since they added the ener 3 s1 pro? Thx for the feedback btw. Great video
You can order the base model as one and then order the Sprite Pro head for $109. Have two heads. And still have the option with the all metal hot end. Of course a firmware update might be required to get to 300°
@@TheTechnologyMan Well - If I may barge in to give an example of why people would do this. For me it's simply a case of budget. I only have a limited amount of money that I can spend monthly. Sure - I can pile up money a few months and get this full S1 Pro, but then I have to wait patiently for a few months sitting down to turn thumbs. Or, the choice I have made, you can buy the "basic" S1 model the first month, and then start upgrading that model by buying the all metal Sprite head the second month (It's always handy to have a spare head assembly laying around if something goes wrong). The months after that you can buy a textured PEI sheet and so on. That way you can start printing immediately in the first month, and then "stepping up" to more exotic materials at a later stage. Yes - At the end you most likely pay more, but because you do it in chunks it's far more affordable and less noticeable on your wallet if you have a limited monthly budget. And, of course, you will have money left to buy other stuff like filament and so on (just imagine how frustrating it can be to have a full S1 Pro, and no money left to buy a few rolls of printing materials). 😁
Torn between this and the mini+ This is currently £75 off on a Xmas sale so it beats the Prusa by nearly £100. Which is more future proof? Which is more upgradable or has best small detail printing capability?
Very similar for small detail prints - with a 0.25mm nozzle. Very hard to answer - better support with the Prusa and tailored profiles for loads of filament types saves a lot of fiddling. But more capacity with the S1 Pro and direct drive which I prefer.
@@TheTechnologyMan I also wonder if there will be the next gen versions out soonish as these have been around for a while now. Not sure if you've heard rumours of what's next. Always hard to pick when two are so closely matched! Thanks for your info.
Thank you for sharing your review. Very easy to understand and follow even for myself who haven't got a clue with 3D Printing. I believe, "Our World is a Shared Experience"... Which program you use to design the model please? I cannot find Fusion 360 for my Mac, so please advice. Please look after yourself and each other & Stay Safe.
@@TheTechnologyMan Thank you for that. I cannot find in the Apple Store, perhaps I have to download from their website. I’ll let you know if you wouldn’t mind. One more thing, can you show the basic setting to start printing for the first time as I haven’t got a clue. Please accept my apologies for any inconvenience if I may cause. Thank you again… Have a wonderful day!!!
Should I go for the Ender 3 S1 Pro or the Ender 5 Pro as a first time buyer? I am getting into the 3d printing world and looking at buying my first 3d printer.
Hi these two printers are in completely different price brackets. The Prusa Mini is a good option for a more beginner friendly printer if you don't need the bigger volume. Or the Ender S1 Pro at a similiar price as I cover in this video.
s1 pro in transit... will be a nice addition to my 2 original ender 3's and cr10s pro. I think my only concern is the bed... i have seen other reviews of poor bed adhesion on smaller items....but i guess i'll wait and see.
I've had very good bed adhesion - typical of other textured PEI sheets I've used. You do need to keep it clean which may catch some people out. Just been printing 20cm tall inserts for a vase which have a base less than 1 cm square without any brim :). I hope you enjoy the printer.
Really depends on the capacity they need. If they don't need the extra size of the Ender or the direct drive (for easier filament change, TPU printing etc), the Prusa Mini might be a safer bet - just because of the chat support (depending on how experienced they are?)
Thanks! Always a tough one. I think the MK3S+ is pretty pricey for what you get. But the Mini is ok if you don't need the larger build volume. Their 24h chat is helpful if you're just getting started.
Local retailer had a great price (works out to be under 400 of your great british pounds) so i ordered one to replace my old Ender 3 Pro that just lacks a lot of the nice new features modern printers have.
Greeting. I am new to the world of 3d printing, I would buy one of these 3 printers, creality cr 6 se, anycubic vyper, ender 3 s1 pro? Which one is better for a beginner
I have a vyper. Its a good 3d printer, but the hot end seems weak and just switching the nozzle made it freak out. I'm actually changing to this s1 pro because I think it will behave a little better and has the upgrades with the direct drive and better motors.
Hi - I'm still trying to find the perfect beginner 3D printer. If the build volume is big enough currently I'd probably recommend the Prusa Mini - mainly because of the chat support which is handy when you're starting out.
I got my ender 3 s1 pro last week. I reckon it was slung together by an ape because nothing was set anywhere near what it should be. lots of parts were loose in the box x axis adjustment nob the bed levelling adjustment wheels the springs all loose in the box. After sorting it out Ive tried levelling by preheating the bed and nozzle manually levelling using z offset for the centre the going around the outside to get it level. then I auto level to create a mesh once finished centres and tries to bury itself through the pei I have watched numerous videos tried it 5 times and every time the same result. This printer is a nightmare im tempted to return it.
Strongly considering this for my first printer though I've heard it close a lot from some people. How's it held up? I was going for the Mingda but do want to do flexibles as well as materials like ASA (for things that won't melt in a car).
I've had no problems with it myself. It's slower than other printers I have, and the LCD menu could be better organised. But it's gives good results and is very versatile.
hi there, thanks for the video, i have a vertex 8402 and modded the hell out of it, but when something breaks, almost always the extruder, i have to take the whole machine apart and yesterday was the last time for me. So i want a new one, do you think it's an upgrade for me? And i have 2 2,5 kg spools, do they fit on the Pro? Greetings Vinnie
I don't know about the machine you have - but this printer is pretty capable for the money. You might need to use your own spool holder but otherwise you should be good to go.
A truly comprehensive review. As someone who's been 3d printing since 2015 on first a vertex then anet a8 then ender 3 this seems like the next logical printer to get. I cant justify the CA$1250 price tag on the kit version of the prusa mk3s+, so im glad to see from your review that the print quality is fairly similar. Would you say this printer is a worthwhile upgrade from the original ender 3?
Dear sir, I saw your UA-cam channel for the first time today and the note about the Ender 3 S1 Pro, I own the Ender 3 S1 version, and an Ender 3 V2, to tell the truth in terms of bed leveling and height of the hotend, in the Ender 3 V2 I am used to doing it hot, but in the S1 as you say, they recommend doing it cold and I agree with you that it is a somewhat tedious job and it does not end up looking good, also my Z-offset remains in -3.94, somewhat high, but every now and then I have to re-level the bed and the Z-offset, which is what you recommend me to do to avoid having to calibrate the bed and the hotend, very often, hot or cold ? or some method that you consider effective and practical?, Of course, it is not a bother on my part. Also, I would like you to tell me where to get the .stl of the van or truck that you print in the video. I apologize for the questions but I think your point of view is very correct, that's why I write to you in addition to seeing your very interesting channel. Waiting for your answer, receive a cordial greeting. Richard. Buenos Aires, Argentina
Excellent video & very insightful. Thank you. I'm about to invest in my first 3D printer and have been evaluating the market rather thoroughly. The S1 pro is the front runner I seem to gravitate back too, despite being tempted by the Solvay SV01 pro and artillery sidewinder ... especially now the S1 has come down to the low £400's ... I feel a little 'safer' with a popular brand in the UK. Are you still happy with your S1 pro ? 🇬🇧
Mine just landed this morning (Manchester UK). A quick assembly, got me to wondering why the light wouldn't come on. Make sure the blue tape holding the plugs in the ally section are unleashed. Dhuh! After that, I levelled the bed as per here, & printed a calibration cube. Awesome finish. Oversized by less than 0.2mm (near enough for me). At the mo, totally impressed. I got the original CR-10, & it's still banging away stock. My original Ender 3 has maintenance issues, so is taking a holiday. It took 2 days to come, direct from Creality (UK). Go for it, it's a brilliant machine. So far...😎 EDIT: Got nearer to 0.05...
Hi ! Excellent video ! I got mine on June 3rd. Have you tried changing filament mid-print ? To do 2 colors or more. Will try soon with a small print but it seems that it's kinda broken on the S1 Pro, from what I read everywhere to this day. No way to confirm that the new filament is ready.
Thanks glad you liked the video! Not specifically tried a colour change but take a look at the "filament runout" chapter. It should be roughly the same process - you will have to work a little blind but it should be possible.
Slice in cura, preview to get the layer to change colour, then extensions-gcode edit.-filament change at layer. Re slice. Gcode inserts M600 to pause printer and gives you about 30 seconds to remove old filament and insert new. It works but you have to be there because there is not much time given to make the change.
Thanks for the video, it was very informative. Can you recommend a good modeling program for beginners? I want to work up some designs but I don't have any experience. Creality is having a flash sale, you can pick this up for under$385.00 right now. The sale ends after black Friday though so anyone interested better hurry. I ordered mine last night and can't wait to try it out.
HI, You can use something like thinkercad to model. If you are looking for a more in-depth cad software i recommend autodesk-autocad (they are both free)
The Ender 5 pro is out and I can get it from the country I am living in, Thailand. Would that be a step up from this printer? Also, I see that prints take many hours to complete. What kind of electric bill am I expecting from this? Living in Thailand, electricity is a lot cheaper than other countries, but if I have to keep this thing running for a full day or longer for one print, that can get rather costly. I really want to get into 3D printing as it is a hobby of mine as I started with the 3D pen, but I just fear large electricity bills. Seems something very minor to most people, but if you lived in Thailand and made the wages I make then you would understand lol :)
I did a energy test in the video as you can see. It's around 100Wh so 10 hours will cost you roughly what your kWh unit price is. I'm sorry I've don't have an Ender 5 to compare it to.
@@TheTechnologyMan Thank you for your help. I really appreciate it. I think I decided on the Vyper as all I have been seeing is that the Vyper seems to be better than the Ender 3 v2, plus it has auto bed leveling which is what I am also looking for. Although I am not opposed to leveling it myself. But for something like this, I think I would rather have it done for me than have to rely on ME lol
If you purchase from somewhere like Amazon with easy returns you should be ok. It's also worth noting that the levelling is a little confusing with this printer so I imagine not every reported issue is an actual fault with the printer itself.
The only problem I have with this video is the speed at which the presenter is talking. He's talking as if he is late and needs to catch the Concorde. If I did not have some background knowledge I would not have had a clue what he was talking about. So, for me, stay away from his presentations unless 🤔 🙄 I actually already know what he is going to say!!! I already have this printer and is really happy with the results in conjunction with Cura 5.2.1 My S1 Pro has been running for nearly 6 weeks at about 18 hours per day and I have had very few failures though the printing speed is mainly 70mm/s. Print quality is excellent 👌 👏
Try reducing the playback speed to 0.75x - UA-cam does a good job on this. And you can enable captions - I have full transcripts for every video. Hope that helps.
one of the best technology reviews I've ever come across. Detailed and thorough without being verbose; very easy to follow. Really helpful stuff!
Wow, thank you! So motivating to get comments like this 😊.

Great sounds like you're putting it to good use!
What design program/computer do you use? New to 3D printing and need to upgrade laptop
Great thanks and I'm glad you're enjoying the printer!
Sounds like you're learning fast!
Thanks for the excellent review. I think I’m going to get this printer. Looks like probably the best option for an all in one, ready to use out of the box and enough of a user base for lots of upgrades in the future. Appreciate the ability to also print nylon and polycarbonate for functional prints.
I'm glad the review helped and I'm sure you'll love it!
This was so helpful and was the deciding factor in me buying this printer. Thank you so much for your knowledge and attention to detail.

Excellent review mate, I’m late to the party but I’ve subscribed.
Got the printer for Christmas at £260.
So far so good.
Glad the review helped and thanks for the support! Glad you're enjoying the new printer.
My Ender 3 s1 pro came with a bent cable that came unglued and a broken terminal on the actual extruder. I am reaching out to support now.
Good luck!
Incredible video!! Thank you!! Definitely thinking about getting the S1 or S1 pro for my first 3D printer
Thanks - very glad you liked it! If you can stretch for the Pro I would - especially if you plan to add a textured PEI sheet (which I'd recommend). The LED lamp is more useful than you think and you also have the option to print high temp materials :). Still I'm sure you'd be happy with either!
I had originally ordered and used the S1, then returned it for the Pro. I am glad I did and it was well worth it.
I agree - I think the S1 Pro is a worthwhile upgrade if you have the extra money.
Thanks for a great review. I'm looking to get an FDM printer towards the end of the summer and the S1 Pro is my current top choice. I like the option to use high temp materials.
I'm glad the video helped! I'm sure the S1 Pro will be a great first printer!
thank yoy very helpful i just ordered mine last night cant wait for it to arrive
No problem glad it helped and have fun when it arrives!
Interesting thanks for the tips!
This was so quick, I had to watch it twice. so there is a z-axis compensation. lots of information.. thanks for the clarification and enlightenment..
Glad it was helpful!
I really like this detailed review.
Very well presented. Subscribed.
Great thanks - and glad it helped!
Just got mine yesterday. It's my first 3D printer. So far, I've only printed with TPU. I'll be trying ASA tomorrow after I finish the enclosure I'm making. First impressions are pretty darn good.
Great!
Looks like a good all-around printer. I like the option buy a laser unit too.
It is a good printer - not tried the laser module.
Great video. Well thought out and covers everything I needed to know. Many thanks.
Great glad it helped!
I couldn't find a link for your profiles anywhere. I've had mine 2-3 weeks still trying to dial it in, would like to compare settings, see what's different.
Hi - I've just added my profiles to the description.
I tried to "import" your profile files but the cura import doesn't recognize your the .3mf files. I'm new to this, what am I missing?
You can just open those .3mf files - they'll open the model with the settings I used. You can then delete the mode and add your own to try my settings. If they work for you, you can save them into your own profile.
@@TheTechnologyMan Thanks
Excellent review with tons of helpful tips. Great, thank you.

Thanks for a thorough review! I think we are going to buy this printer. It will be our first 3D printer.
No problem glad it helped. And enjoy your foray into 3d printing!
I am new to printing and dont generally want entry level I am looking for a mid range printer the prints most matiarals and so far I like this one very much.
It's one good option - would like at the Prusa Mini too if you don't need to print big.
Have you tried just levelling the bed manually?
I got the exact same model that you did, but my firmware must be old or something, as mine has no leveling screen whatsoever. We can't level, leveling on the ready screen doesn't work, and it hunts like it is printing, but nothing comes out of the extruder. What do I do? This is my son's Christmas present.
It was in Laser mode not FCM mode.
Glad you're sorted!
Thank you for the video. new sub . I have been looking at this printer and reading the reviews on amazon. think i'm going to get it now.
No problem glad you liked the video. Hope your enjoy your new printer when it arrives!
where did you download the ssd card content? i received one but it corruptet the moment i plugged on my pc
Try the download section of the support page for the printer. Or send a message to Creality.
Yes quite easy to build an enclosure - I've printed smaller parts in ABS and PC with a decent success rate.
Currently have the Ender 3 pro (with warped bed) and thinking of upgrading to the S1 pro
Good luck.
Have just ordered one of these as an upgrade to my mess of a tevo tarantula that I have upgraded to death.
Nice one!
any recommendations for PLA filament not sticking to the bed even after leveling and adjusting z offset many times?
I'd suggest cleaning the bed thoroughly - if you've tried IPA, try washing up liquid and warm water. Good luck.
Great review. I’ve liked and subscribed. Aug 2023 the UK price for S1 PRO is £350
Thanks for the support! I've seen it even cheaper than that in the UK!
Hello!
I have a question, which printer is easier to use?
From brand PRUSA or from ENDER?
I'd probably say a Prusa - and for a beginner to 3D printing they have their online chat.
@@TheTechnologyMan Thank you!
any suggestion of a good profile for ABS in prusa slicer for S1 Pro?
I'm away currently but will check when I return (if I remember!)
0.05mm increments for a 3d printer is pretty good mate, thats all you really need, the print tolerances on these things are like +/- 0.1mm so 0.05mm to set offsets is all you need tbh
I think I was referring to levelling the print bed IIRC.
great review mate
Thanks - glad it helped!
Question for you guys & Gals
I had my Pro for a week now printed flawlessly until tonight
I turned it on and a blank screen xo went to site to get update from Creality web and it will not boot try 3 different sd cards and still no luck
anyone have any idea why this is happening?
would appreciate any help thanks in advance
I'd contact Creality in the first instance. But if you're trying the firmware update, follow Creality's instructions and try updating the screen firmware first.
If anyone is still in doubt about this printer, I can say the hardware is top notch, but I found the firmware to be lacking. The auto bed levelling isn't that good out of the box for instance. I've switched to using Klipper and it has since become my favorite 3D printer. It can print quite fast (I print at 80mm/s) with excellent quality once calibrated. I recommend it to people that are ready to tinker, but not for complete beginners.
Yes the firmware is not great - but still very usable out the box. Using it with the Sonic Pad (Klipper) is a big improvement.
2 things are keeping me hesitating, though:
- Sound levels: if possible, I'd want a silent out of the box printer. stepper drivers are one thing... but fans typically are the other
- ability for cooling upgrades.
Ender 3 S1 Pro vs V3 KE vs CR-10 SE. Which one is better?? Pls suggest thanks 😇
Sorry I've not compared it to those other printers.
What was the adhesive you applied to the bed called? Im having problems with my prints sticking and have been trying to find a good product. Thank you in advance!
I've tried everything on the market and Dimafix is incredible stuff.
New to 3D printing, my main question would be, what would be the best computer to use with a 3D slicing program and a 3D scanner??
You don't need anything that powerful for slicing.
You said you had problems with the SD card write speed. Was that the one it shipped with? Wondering if I need to use a different card. Thanks
No I didn't get one shipped with the printer it was missing. So I started off with an old card I had that turned out to be too slow.
Not / never done 3d printing very tempted by the ender 3 s1 pro as i need to print some structural
Parts for a plasma cutter and the cost to import fro
Usa is not far off the purchase of a printer its self
Thanks for the review
Lots of choice - but I'm sure you'll love whatever you end up with!
Looking for an enclosed printer the can print ABS, petg and some Carbon filament. What do you suggest? Thank you
Sorry I've not tested any fully enclosed printers so can't recommend one.
Sorry I've not tried the Kobra 2.
How does this compare to the Ender 5 Pro? i'd love to see a comparison video!
Thanks for the suggestion - don't have that printer but if I review it I will compare it to this model.
The S1 Pro will probably be my first 3D printer.
Enjoy!
Super info thanks man

Wow! this is one of the best Ender 3 S1 PRO review (Yes, I've watched ALL of them, including languages I don't understand).
@@TheTechnologyMan ty for the advice i have the ender 3 v2 and in december i be getting the ender 3 s1 pro
Of course a firmware update might be required to get to 300°
I'm not sure why you'd do this and not just get the Pro and get the textured PEI sheet, LED etc.
Have you tried the engraver attachment and if so, would you recommend it? Great review by the way... thank you.
No - thanks for the suggestion I should give it a try and compare to my dedicated engravers!
@@TheTechnologyMan I would love to see that. Thank you for your reply.
Sorry I don't know!

@@TheTechnologyMan Thank you for that. I cannot find in the Apple Store, perhaps I have to download from their website. I’ll let you know if you wouldn’t mind. Thank you again… Have a wonderful day!!!
Anyone to help me. Should I make those silicone phone cases using this machine
You could - with its direct drive it handles TPU (if that's what you mean) pretty well.
Should I go for the Ender 3 S1 Pro or the Ender 5 Pro as a first time buyer? I am getting into the 3d printing world and looking at buying my first 3d printer.
Personally between those two I'd go Ender 3 S1 Pro as first printer.
@@TheTechnologyMan appriciate it, I ordered the 3 S1 Pro yesterday 👌
Great video!! Thank you very much 👏👏
Great glad it helped!
Ender 3 s1 or prusa i3 mk3s+? or some other 3d printer for a beginner.
I hope you enjoy the printer.
thank you for the video it was incredibly helpful! would you recommend this for engineers or the prusa mini? buying for a friend
Really depends on the capacity they need. If they don't need the extra size of the Ender or the direct drive (for easier filament change, TPU printing etc), the Prusa Mini might be a safer bet - just because of the chat support (depending on how experienced they are?)
@@TheTechnologyMan They have experience in electrical and electronic engineering, I suppose bigger can't hurt!
Great review. Would you recommend this or a prusa for a first timer?
Sounds a good price - I hope you enjoy it! It should be a great upgrade!
Considering this as my first 3d printer...
Have fun choosing!
I would try the Facebook forums before you give up - lots of help there.
Hi, can you please help me to understand, do I need to change nozzle or something else if I’m gonna print PETG quite often?
By the way great review!
Thanks! No the supplied nozzle is fine for PETG.
@@TheTechnologyMan thank you🤝🏽
What’s the difference between this and Ender 3 s1?
Answered in the video :): ua-cam.com/video/EO2nMoq4J2Y/v-deo.html
Hi just need an advice that i should get s1 pro or s1 plus?
Depends if you need bigger size, or all metal hotend for printing higher temp materials.
How’s the interface on this printer
It's the most intuitive interface but you get used to it!
@@TheTechnologyMan do u own the ender 3 s1 plus

hi there, thanks for the video, i have a vertex 8402 and modded the hell out of it, but when something breaks, almost always the extruder, i have to take the whole machine apart and yesterday was the last time for me.
Yes it's a big upgrade from the Ender 3!
I love this this is my favorite my dad has a three printer can you tell me how it works because my dad really doesn’t know how it works but he has one

Would you recommend this over a Qidi x-max? I am debating on the enclosure as I print mainly ABS, PETG and TPU.
Sorry I've not tested the Qidi! You can easily make a basic enclosure to print ABS - you don't need an enclosure for PETG and TPU.
@@TheTechnologyMan thanks a lot! Currently printing TPU on an ender 3 with pretty great success.
would you recommend this printer for beginners?
It's a pretty good option - although the user interface takes a little getting used to.
Hi thanks for your comment. I prefer to level the bed hot. My Z-offset is way off if I don't. The van is from Fab365: fab365.net/items/147.
Great review! The height of 625 mm, is it with the spool included or without?
IIRC that's the top of the spool holder - add half a spool width to include a spool!
is this printer better than the Ender 5 pro?
Sorry not tested the Ender 5 Pro.
Thanks glad it helped! Yes it's a good printer - and hopefully with some firmware updates will get better!
So far...😎
EDIT: Got nearer to 0.05...
@@SendDadPics I appreciate the suggestion, I will check them both out.
I like Fusion 360 - loads of tutorials and much easier to use than it looks.
Sorry, I mean auto desk fusion 360 not autocad
@@TheTechnologyMan I appreciate the reply and the recommendation. I will check it out.
Thank you so much for your sharing :)
No problem 😊
Great video
Thanks!
What is the temperature measuring unit you are referring to? I believe it is Celsius, but all I can hear is something like centigrade...
Yes Celsius (or centigrade - same thing).
99% sure i"m going to upgrade to this from my Ender 3 v2. Just worried about the ABL issue
If you purchase from somewhere like Amazon with easy returns you should be ok. It's also worth noting that the levelling is a little confusing with this printer so I imagine not every reported issue is an actual fault with the printer itself.
@@TheTechnologyMan Yes, manual levelling needed before automatic levelling.
