- Cat chasing squirrel again! Although now it's two squirrels that my Peikko cat is chasing this time. These animals are fast.. slow motion helps.

I took in a feral cat years ago that I had seen and fed for almost a year before he would take (trust) an outstretched hand. During that year I watched Golbin chasing squirrels many times a day. He was young, healthy, and fast, and being part Siamese had terrifying claws. I saw him get close... a lot, I even saw a few tufts of floating squirrel fir, but as far as I know, he never got one. After that year I never saw him chase another squirrel. He wouldn't even acknowledge them. He would go outside and sit or walk around like they were invisible. I think they broke him. Goblin was a good cat.

I've got a cat who is the spit of Peikko, apart from a little white moustache.
The cool thing about being a cat owner, domestic cats deep down still have that killer instinct. They hunt, stalk, chase, and occasionally, catch what they are stalking. Beautiful cat, and a beautiful backyard!

My cat is not good at hunting, I guess she never learned, she probably lived inside with the previous owner but she will just start running directly towards the squirrels but she is big and slow so she looks really pathetic trying but I guess she is having fun. My last cat was about 12 pounds and grew up as an outside cat. She would kill squirrels every once in a while for fun. She would also defend her territory against any other cats that came by

They are Eurasian Red Squirrels
Wow! Your Peikko is alike my Bez but Bez has short hair and black mouth. Bez has passed away last summer 2021 at 17 years old. I love watch your Peikko for reminded of my Bez.

Squirrels are very agile, faster in turns and much faster up in the tree.

Peikko was given me for free (and her sister too). They were born at a small farm. I can tell you that she looks like a Norwegian Forest Cat but I don't know if she has a specific breed.
