I had thought the South Park Museum was going to be housed in the Casa Bonita, but Kudos to South Park Colorado for taking things in stride. Love those classic architecture buildings. Not very many of those left.
Having grown up in Colorado at 8500 feet in the mountains South Park was always a stopping place for friends who would come visit us LONG before the South Park cartoon was every on TV.
The word “Alpine” originally came from Europe and referred to the “Alps” and the highest altitude that the “Pines” existed and thrived .So the “Tree Line” 🤓 Love your videos Carpetbagger ✌️💙🦾🦾🦾From an American in Europe (27 years living here)
Interesting how the buildings are so flat and square when looking at the straight forward. I thought that was just the simple shapes the show used but its actually like that. And the building colors match too. Its kinda surreal.
You dehydrate faster at higher altitudes too. It's always good to have water on you. There's a baseball museum right near Coors Field that's supposed to be pretty cool
When I was in Denver for a couple months in 2015 after we left the airport two weeks after we got there, I ended up in the hospital with a serious lung infection from the altitude shock to my system.
SUPERB video, especially the old tymie South Park Town!!! It is extremely hard to breathe in those exceptionally high altitudes if you are not from there!!! Attaboy, Carpetbagger n Jenn!!!
Some time when you are in Colorado you should visit Royal Gorge Bridge & Park. Royal Gorge is the highest suspension bridge in America. It may still be in 2023. Besides the bridge it has an amusement park with rides and a diesel train that actually runs under the bridge. It might be worth checking it out.
26:43 This brings back memories for me. Back in June 2006, my relatives from Denver rented a vacation home in Jefferson, Colorado. I was getting ready to go to high school that fall as a freshman. They would later own a vacation home in Jefferson, CO. So we decided to take a day trip there and see the historic village in Fairplay CO. The drug store and saloon brings back memories for me.
ATLANTA Botanical Gardens currently (Summer 2023) has a dambo troll exhibit! It’s called Trolls: Save the Humans. There are 6 trolls, I believe! My family first learned about Dambo Trolls watching your channel and my daughter begged me to take her to see some. When the exhibit came to Atlanta she was so excited and she loved seeing them.
I live in Denver, my daughter lived near FairPlay. Even though I’m used to living a mile up that further altitude was really hard to handle. It really is odd how your body reacts to breathing in deep when the air doesn’t have much oxygen, your brain almost seems to panic.
for real. we went to the red rocks for the south park concert last year, im from miami florida. so no altitude here. and im a fit person. but i was struggling climbing the stairs at the red rocks.. i had to stop many times cause my legs couldnt catch up and my breathing was heavy . my cousin is also from NY but he did better tha me lol. and thats only around 6,000 ft altitude. been to fairplay where its higher and i was ok there . maybe cause i wasnt climbing stairs
I love those trolls!! Told the hubby that we need to go see them. It’s only 6 hours from us here in Casper Wyoming. And just a note they now have a Troll in Jackson Hole Wyoming. The troll - officially named “Mama Mimi” - was built by the artist Thomas Dambo, produced by Jackson Hole Public Art and hosted at Jackson Hole Land Trust's community conservation property, R Park.
Didn't know this existed but do glad you featured it. Will be traveling to Colorado next month and this is on my way from Denver to Glenwood Springs. I just added it to my itinerary. Thank you. FYI to prevent altitude sickness, I'm taking Acetazolamide. I learned about this in Peru when I really got sick.
Suggestion for Denver. Lakeside Amusement Park. It is an old school style amusement park and tomorrow at 1pm there will be the “gothic takeover” where a bunch of goths go to the park. It would make for an interesting video.
Been to Denver twice. Once around 1990, and again in 2015. The first time I didn't even notice the thin air, but the second really knocked the s... Stuffing out of me. Also, I wouldn't mind seeing Meow Wolf again. Hint. Hint.😉
I live at the bottom of Noccalula Falls mountain which is a tourist attraction in Alabama and heavily wooded. There are coyotes bobcats deer & a recent bear sighting & the biggest fox I've ever seen when I was just trying to get down my driveway. I'm not doing the tango with a coyote or any animal. My poor cat got out and came back with a gash on his tail and the vet said it was mostly likely a coyote. He doesn't try to sneak out anymore. I enjoyed your video and I always wanted to visit Colorado. I wish you could've visited Noccalula Falls park before a fire killed 75 animals in the petting zoo part. It was really horrible.
In Fairplay they have an annual even racing mining burros which is a lot of fun and with that tradition they serve Rattle Snake and Mountain Oysters to eat. It is a really good time. You might look it up if they still do the burro races.
Welcome back to Colorado!! Ilove that troll! I always go visit when I’m up in Breck. So glad you got to spend some time in South Park, so now you definitely have to go back to Casa Bonita! Take Jenn with ya! Cheers and hope you are doing well 😊
Jacob, I do love in Colorado! Love the Colorado content, thank you! Just one thing….. “Sounds” to me like you know exactly where to put those! Lol. Enjoy Colorado! Catch a nuggets game if you can!
Very nice rural area in Colorado! Here is maybe a little tip for the next time you visit: * Blow up a regular childs balloon when you are in a low level of Colorado, seal it and keep it. * Take it with you on your visit to the South Park City Museum. * You'll find that at the museum, 10.000 feet above sea level, the balloon has become very much larger. Now when at that level, you have to breathe in the volume of the balloon to get the same amount of oxygen you get at sea level with a regular breath. To be able to live and function at 10.000 feet above sea level you should either have been born there, and get the necessary extra amount of red blood cells at birth. Or you should take it very easy and relaxed, slow down your normal tempo to accommodate for the lack of oxygen at that level. Either way: very nice video and enjoyed the ride. Thank you both!
Burro means donkey in Spanish. I think its used to describe a small donkey too lol. And also you guys can get small tanks of oxygen when going to places like this. Love the video! 😊
Thank You for braving the high altitude to show us South Park City 🙏💝 That place is really neato 🌟🤠 It was also fun to see Fairplay and the burro monuments 🐴 I love the trolls too ❣️ As always, Your videos are always the best ❣️🙌😻
Nice to have variety in adventures. Can get small 02 canister. Try black elderberry extract to open the lungs in illness. Vicks opens lungs too. At Machu Pichu we drank coca tea that worked awesome, but illegal in the US.
There was a Southpark episode where Cartman and his mom bought and moved into a very similar hot dog stand, i think that's probably what the owner was trying to simulate.
Trey grew up in the Conifer/Aspen Park area. He went to my middle school! Mr. Mackey was based on a real councilor, Mr. Lackey, who really would say, "M'kay," 😂
Alpine climate is the typical weather (climate) for elevations above the tree line, where trees fail to grow due to cold. This climate is also referred to as a mountain climate or highland climate. See more
Alpine meaning relating to or resembling mountains and especially the alps.:of, relating to, or growing on upland slopes above the highest elevation where trees grow.
The last time I was at the pharmacy, there was a little fitness section that had canned oxygen. It might be wise to carry a few cans with you on your high-altitude trips?
That seems like a good advice. They don't have those where i live, but then again we don't have mountains in the Netherlands. It is all flat at sea level here!
YES!!!!!! Bailey is near where I grew up> When I lived there the population was around 200 people That area has really grown. I lived in a development at the top of Crow Hill. Bailey was the nearest town.
The Cartman full of coins is an episode where Cartman ate a bunch of fake treasure thinking it was real
I had thought the South Park Museum was going to be housed in the Casa Bonita, but Kudos to South Park Colorado for taking things in stride.

I Didn’t Know This Existed Until Now Also I A South Park Fan

In the current season of South Park, Cartman and his mom live in that hot dog!
They moved out after cartman made it Dickenbaus
Interesting how the buildings are so flat and square when looking at the straight forward. I thought that was just the simple shapes the show used but its actually like that. And the building colors match too. Its kinda surreal.
I honestly wanna see Jacob Wrestle a coyote 😅 😂

I totally love 💕 this original old town of South Park!!! The drugstore n train stop n caboose were awesome!!!
Hi there Jacob and Jenn. What a really charming place.. Hope you are both well XX

Thanks for the memories of Colorado, Jacob

That troll was amazing!! Definitely planning in my head a trip to go see it!! Thanks for sharing your adventures!

Thankyou for taking us into South Park totally enjoyed it 😊
alpine
adjective
relating to high mountains.
"alpine and subalpine habitats"
this is awesome love south park thanks for sharing a great video
Bernheim Forest is where the danbo trolls are near Louisville KY

Awesome videos love the channel, I would definitely recommend seeing Bishops castle in Rye Colorado if you haven't already.
Alpines relate to any high mountain. Hope this helps.

Jenn’s shirt looked coyote attacked already like she’s seen in a tussle!!
In Fairplay they have an annual even racing mining burros which is a lot of fun and with that tradition they serve Rattle Snake and Mountain Oysters to eat. It is a really good time.
You might look it up if they still do the burro races.
"High octane coyote fight" got me 😂
Alpine is like a general term now for mountains or a mountain environment “these plants thrive in an alpine setting”
Welcome back to Colorado!! Ilove that troll! I always go visit when I’m up in Breck. So glad you got to spend some time in South Park, so now you definitely have to go back to Casa Bonita! Take Jenn with ya! Cheers and hope you are doing well 😊
Awesome, South Park museum, my most favorite museum!

Gotta love ❤️ the squished penny machines!! I also collect those!!!
What a perfect carpetbagger video, only place in Colorado I've been to was Breckinridge, and I love South Park
I always enjoy your travels so much fun Thankyou for sharing your adventures ❤
Burro means donkey in Spanish. I think its used to describe a small donkey too lol. And also you guys can get small tanks of oxygen when going to places like this. Love the video! 😊
Glad you have a chance to spend time with family ❤ Can you do an update video on the grand reopening of Casa Bonita while you're in Denver 🎉🎉❤
There's Trolls in Mount Horeb Wisconsin. Also really neat and cool video🙂👍.
domestic donkeys/burros can live for 50 years. 60 is pushing it. but good for Prunes A. Burro!
The most impressive bit is he'd have lived even longer if he hadn't froze to death. It wasn't even old age that got him
I Love South Park, I even got a South Park Kenny Plush Toy from Toys R Us!😂🤣❤️📺🎶👍🏻
Was gonna say, you two seem a bit hungry. 😂
You missed the QPee doll in that doll collection!!!
There is another Troll in Colorado Springs on the way up to Cheyanne Mountain Zoo and yes at that Zoo they have a Moose.
That laxative is a death sentence for your pants and toilet. Love old timey stuff lol
So much fun today with you and Jenn love old history so interesting 🤔🤔🤔💖💖💗💗💗
Thank You for braving the high altitude to show us South Park City 🙏💝 That place is really neato 🌟🤠 It was also fun to see Fairplay and the burro monuments 🐴 I love the trolls too ❣️ As always, Your videos are always the best ❣️🙌😻
The term "Alpine" refers to altitude, specifically 10,000ft or higher.
The mountaneers key to acclimating to heights is to climb high and sleep low.
I just love the fact that someone built a giant hot dog house like had 😂😂
Nice to have variety in adventures. Can get small 02 canister. Try black elderberry extract to open the lungs in illness. Vicks opens lungs too. At Machu Pichu we drank coca tea that worked awesome, but illegal in the US.
Friendly faces everywhere
When you got in the train, I thought you were going back to the future.
There was a Southpark episode where Cartman and his mom bought and moved into a very similar hot dog stand, i think that's probably what the owner was trying to simulate.
Loads of fun. That was a great episode. I love the history.
Alpine climate is pretty specifically a high altitude mountain region where trees grow
Well shorty and bum were buddies they were best friends through and through wandering the streets of south park just begging for some food
There is a display of the trolls right now at the Atlanta Botanical Garden through mid September!
This area is honestly a lot cooler than I expected. Thanks for sharing.
I always love those trolls . That was very interesting to see the town South Park is based on . Awesome video .Keep Safe ❤Keep Well❤
Beware of Alpine Camels!
Yup it does
I think Burro does mean little donkey. The burros would go down in the mines and pull the ore carts in and out of the mine.
Trey grew up in the Conifer/Aspen Park area. He went to my middle school! Mr. Mackey was based on a real councilor, Mr. Lackey, who really would say, "M'kay," 😂

The place near Louisville KY with the wooden trolls is Bernheim Forest
Looks like a room where they make floats for parade
The Denver Aquarium is Nice, and don't forget Lakeside Park
I wonder if that Hot Dog is a joke because in the show Cartman lost his house and he and his Mom live in a hot dog now. LOL
thats why we say gettin high on the rockies. hope your having a great time. your awesome J.
Alpine meaning relating to or resembling mountains and especially the alps.:of, relating to, or growing on upland slopes above the highest elevation where trees grow.
Leadville Colorado is actually 2 miles high.
bernheim Forest that is near Louisville Kentucky
My brother loves watching South Park whenever he's home at my house with his girlfriend Kelsey. Hope you have fun with Jenn Jacob!
You were in my neck of the woods?!?!? That's awesome!!!
Come to Atlanta! There is a display of the trolls at the Botanical Gardens until September. They are awesome! ❤
Cartman’s hot dog house 😂😂😂
You took on a camel. Coyotes should be nothing.
And if he’s taking on that who is with him he should get throw anything 😂
@@markwebster5749 How smart you obviously are.
13:50 I ❤ the gothic kids
I wonder 💭 if the creators of South Park finally opened the Mexican restaurant
Bernheim forest in kentucky with the trolls
44:20 is the hot dog stand in refrence to DikAndBaus, the Hotdog stand in South Park.
Burro is a missed Donkey and any Horse. They are born with no way to reproduce.
You're thinking of a mule.
@@maryblaufuss7533 Yes.....hours later I thought....mule. Burros must be a thing of their own.
@@maryblaufuss7533 So Iooked it up. Burros are originally from Africa. The Spanish brought them with them. They are related to a horse.
@@AndyandPapa Neat! 😄
The morton arboretum in Illinois. They had the trolls for a couple years.
Was just thinking of South Park during Jacob’s trip to CO
Those are trout 😮
0:11 That’s my last name, never been there though
We have 4 of those Thomas Dambo trolls in Singapore
The word “Alpine” originally came from Europe and it is the area above the tree line but below the permanent snow line.
YES!!!!!! Bailey is near where I grew up> When I lived there the population was around 200 people That area has really grown. I lived in a development at the top of Crow Hill. Bailey was the nearest town.
i didn't know there was a south park museum.
but the sign is so stupid if a coyote attacks you, you throw stuff at them and than you attack them back like attack= death.
Best safety tip for coyote areas --- have an adorable puppy. Sacrifice the puppy to save yourself.
