The thing that I loved the most about this movie was how Tarantino portrayed Sharon Tate as an actual human being rather than as a plot device or as just the victim of the Manson's family killing spree. I was worried that Tarantino was going to center the whole movie around that but he did an excellent job at really making this a love letter for the Silver Age of Cinema
how come everyones bitching online about her role then? Specifically, it seems feminists are the least pleased. Something to do with her not having much dialogue.
thomas johnson The movie expects you to already know about the manson cult and the murder of sharon tate - so without any of that context all of her scenes seem disjointed from the plot if not entirely meaningless. That’s one of the biggest critiques I have seen so far - it’s not because she has so little dialogue that’s the problem, it’s that her entire role doesn’t really make any sense without knowing who she was irl. Otherwise she was just another actress with plenty of feet shots and not exactly a multifaceted character.
thomas johnson it’s probably the same feminists that always try to find something to complain about in tarantino movies, even though it’s clearly obvious Sharon Tate was suppose to be the heart of this film
@@thomasjohnson3841 tbh Feminists will complain about anything that portrays a female as happy, energetic, sweet, lovable and caring. Why do you think they treat Captain Marvel like their messiah

Other than the distractingly obvious foot fetish, the movie theatre scene is my favorite in the movie. She just looks so innocent and proud of herself, it’s adorable.

When I first saw the movie I thought to myself "She doesn't really have much of a role and there's not much of a point to her scenes" then I watched it a 2nd time and then I realized that she was actually the heart and soul of the film. Every time she's on screen she just lifts the film with so much positivity and sweetness that it's impossible not to like her. I'm really glad Tarantino showed her as an aspiring young actress with so much potential and not just a Manson Victim.
I mean, the movie despite being Leo and Brad's character'd being the main focus, the story revolves and falls to the Manson murder incident (with a plot twist) which makes Sharon's part in the film important. You see a part of her being just an actress, aspiring to be great and just enjoying life, it gives you a sense of anxiety and worry as you already know what's about to happen (if you haven't seen the plot twist yet) especially when her husband met Charlie Manson himself, Cliff Booth going to Spahn Ranch and we see the hippies, etc. the twist in the end just makes you glad that the hippies went for Rick's property instead of Sharon's and we see them die in the most satisfyingly horrifying way and brings closure to what Rick and Cliff's role to the story actually is.
Strange how people forget or don't realize(myself included) that Sharon Tate was still a rising star when she died, she still had so much left to give to cinema.

I think the saddest part of the movie was when Sharon waved from the door at Charles Manson. She was a sweet trusting soul, kind and beautiful, but it didn't matter to them. I also wonder if she never came to the door if things would have ended different.
This movie is a love letter to the end of old school Hollywood, but beneath that wrapping it's a love letter to Sharon Tate. She's just a girl enjoying her life, and she didn't deserve her fate. Cliff's curbstomping and Rick's flamethrower were the response, you're DAMN RIGHT she didn't.
Tarantino is a master at rendering the atmosphere of the 60s and 70s. He knows how to provoke memories 100%. I only just noticed the sadly ironic song at the end of the clip by the Rolling Stones ‘We’re outta time’ just as the narrator explains Sharon is pregnant and uncomfortable during the hottest days of summer, early August 1969. I wished the fantasy twist that Tarantino cleverly created around the real life stars like Sharon Tate and the Manson family of psychos wasn’t fantasy. It would take away the horrific news I heard back in the day as a child. For me 1969 was a very strange and disturbing year for a 5 year old. It was the first time I realised people could die, Vietnam news bulletins brought that home. I saw drug addicts on my street for the first time. Then I heard pop stars were dying and didn’t understand how and why. Then incredible things happened like the Moon landing, that spooked me out 😂 then more death and misery this time at a pop concert (Altamont, I later found out) just in time for Christmas to see the crazy 1960s out with a bang 😢
I remember watching this movie with my father at the cinema and there was NO ONE in the room, it was amazing, like I was watching it in my house (btw it was like 2pm on a saturday)

2:58 I love the Dutch left angle shot. It really brings out the audiences prediction of what’s going to happen to her building tension.
Absolute definition of BEAUTY
Margot Robbie is one of the most beautiful actress ever
Sharon tate was such an innocent soul and margot does an amazing job of showing that. It makes me so sick what happened to her . Her stoey touched me ever since i read about it when i was toungwr
Margot wearing the white skirt and black top is dynamite 🧨. It’s not often I get blown away by someone’s beauty. That is one of those times
Me too.
I'm so pleased you all get it. UA-cam comments can often be filled with small minds but y'all really understand the brilliance of this movie. Thank you!!
There will only ever be one Sharon Tate
1:48 Sleeping Beauty
I literally love Margot Robbie so much omg I’m so obsessed w her she’s sooooo beautiful AGHHHHHH
Good heavens this woman is absolutely beautiful.
Margot robbie as angel in our world
She was so underused in this movie. She basically just smiled and danced and laughed which she nailed! I expected more but I really liked the end of the movie!
I’m just happy she survived in the movie, the ending scene is lovely but heartbreaking knowing that it never happened
If you died and then were brought back to life....you would be thrilled to get to do simple things like dance and laugh again.
Her sequences were one of the my favorites in the movie.
She makes me want to know more about Sharon Tate
this is basically her amount of screentime 😭
I think the saddest part of the movie was when Sharon waved from the door at Charles Manson. She was a sweet trusting soul, kind and beautiful, but it didn't matter to them. I also wonder if she never came to the door if things would have ended different.
I don’t think it would make a difference if he saw her or not.
He wanted whoever was living at that house to die.😔
She will always be Barbie to me..❤she is beautiful.
The most beautiful in every way. Her smile and laugh spreads happiness like nothing I’ve ever seen.
How can anyone call this woman a "mid"?! She's absolutely stunning!
I love her ❤️
This movie is a love letter to the end of old school Hollywood, but beneath that wrapping it's a love letter to Sharon Tate. She's just a girl enjoying her life, and she didn't deserve her fate. Cliff's curbstomping and Rick's flamethrower were the response, you're DAMN RIGHT she didn't.
BEAUTIFUL SCENE... Sharon watchin her own film and enjoyin audience reaction to it 🥲.
My darling , Rest In Peace
she genuinely does look somewhat to sharon like if you really look at her when she does facial expressions that sharon did it’s in the eyes
Then incredible things happened like the Moon landing, that spooked me out 😂 then more death and misery this time at a pop concert (Altamont, I later found out) just in time for Christmas to see the crazy 1960s out with a bang 😢
sometimes i even forget she died in real life, this movie is so great that make me feel like thats the real story
Damn this scene is such a trip for me cuz I go to UCLA and I’ve walked by that same move theatre damn near every day
The fashion is amazing
Margot Robbie is so beautiful 😍. She is perfect Sharon Tate . Best style ! I love the 60s. My dad grew up during this time . This reminds me of him .
will always be my favorite performance of hers
I remember watching this movie with my father at the cinema and there was NO ONE in the room, it was amazing, like I was watching it in my house (btw it was like 2pm on a saturday)
I would have liked to have seen more of Sharon Tate/Margot Robbie.
Just watching Sharon watching her performance on one of her movies, being comfy and enjoying the reaction of the other movie-goers is very wholesome.
Sharon Tate so young innocent and full of life. Debra Tate even cried over Margot's performance b/c it was her sister she was seeing. Margot Robbie is amazing I hope she gets an oscar and she has been nominated twice.
Perfect pick to play Sharon Tate. Both Tate and Robbie are solid 10's.
Damn straight
This is Margot Robbie and Tarantino Valentine´s day to dear Sharon.
the playboy party scene was iconic
bro everyone was in this movie lmao
I like Margot a lot but I gotta say Sharon beauty was just another Level
