Both are terrific cars but I'll always have a soft spot for KITT. Interesting design for the dash. I understand that because of the shape of the steering wheel, drivers had to have the seat almost all the way back so they could turn it properly. I love how KITT answers back, that is amazing.

Squirmin Herman the one eyed German I’m referring more to the refresh of the 79 from 77 face. Which carried onto 80 in movie as you said. I was arguing against the statement of 77 which wasn’t actually in any movie.
Thanks for this video JD. What a memory from the old childhood. Cars were in very good condition considering the age of both. Bandit was the movie that got me started on burnouts and doughnuts. 👍
Bandit's car was named Trigger a tribute to Roy Rogers horse " Trigger " He also states that he sold Trigger from the first movie for a 6 pack. Check out Smokey & the Bandit 2 to see.
Bandit never actually mentioned Trigger in the first Smokey and the Bandit, but Sally Field does reference Roy Rogers in the line "-Are you ready Roy?" In SATB2, Bandit calls the -80 Turbo T/A for "Son of Trigger".
I did like how each movie featured the Firebird model from the same year. However the 77’ Firebird will always be my personal favorite as seen on Smokey and the Bandit 1
K.I.T.T. isn't complete. You need to do a video in the bandit with Laura as sally field with her legs on the dash and you in a cowboy hat! Re do a couple scenes from the movie!!
Love both the cars but the 1st bandit was a 76 with a 77 front end and the 2nd was a 80 turbo trans am with the 301 4.9L. His looks to be a 79 which is the best looking year in my opinion. Maybe since my 1st car was a 79 firebird formula.
I might have a dream about this, but what if this happened and the famous TV show Firebird was given this: a more modern Mustang V8 particularly like a Hellcat engine, exploding out of the hood, with four superchargers, or maybe even in F1 racer engine, huge exhaust pipes lower him to the ground, add strobe lights to the body, and a massive rear wing and then window guards. Kitt is made for racing. It's more than just secret agent stuff. He knows that he's basically ready for raising, but he prefers not to tell it.
KITT outsmarted you, lol. I remember adding your boys channel when he got the demon. He really should throw the whole hellcat driveline and interior in that charger btw. I love the look of both of these cars. Last year a friend of mine bought both of these from the Jada 1/32 scale line. They were for my birthday along with 2 others of the same scale.
I'm smiling so much an inside I'm laughing so hard kitt is having a full conversation and I love when he's deciding which one they are going to take kitt says that they have to have a withdrawal
You actually need a '76 Trans Am. It has the old bumper on it. That one looks like a 1980's one. The '76 Was actually in the first Smokey and the Bandit movie. The second one had the '79 or 1980.
My OCD feels the need to point out that the dash is woefully inaccurate, but the great work with K.I.T.T.'s voice playback response kind of compensates for it. I love American Muscle cars and that Bandit Trans Am is still a very attractive car today, I'd still drive it despite it being a bit anaemic in the power department now compared to more modern cars. Looks wise it's still a beast.
If there is one older car that would be cool to turn electric it's KITT. Imagine if you swapped it out with a Tesla Plaid yoke and all. It would self drive like in the show, just smoke other cars without making a sound.
