Did you dispute it and explain that? I get them on my videos using music that came with a free video editor. I dispute them and explain and it gets removed.
Always amazes me how shipping companies have somehow convinced the world that delivering an Item from Point A to Point B in one piece is beyond their control and completely someone else's problem.
@@MacXpert74They are, but sometimes there are clauses where if you sign for it, it means you accept the item in the condition that it’s in. Which is always a ridiculous concept , because of course you are going to sign for it after waiting so long, rather than refuse delivery and have it sent all the way back to in this case, the UK. And most of the time whatever you have ordered is fully packed into a box and it’s unreasonable to expect the delivery driver to wait whilst you unpack and inspect it all. Then to add further confusion to the mix, many couriers wont let you open it (even to inspect it) until…..you guessed it…. You’ve signed for it!!! So it’s a massive clusterf**k that’s probably designed that way to minimise returns and refunds. I had an argument with a courier not long ago when I made them wait until i inspect an item before signing for it, I had ordered a fish tank and the first 2 had arrived broken and was a nightmare to send back, the third arrived broken as well, i could hear the glass moving around in the box, so i refused to sign for it until i had opened it (mainly to prove it was obviously broken), the delivery driver didn’t know what to do, didnt want me opening it until i signed for it, so he phoned his boss and everything. In the end he had no option but to take it back as i refused delivery.
A car like that built by someone else can't be perfect, now it's up to you to make it _your_ KITT. Happy for you and can't wait to follow you and KITT on your adventures!

It's almost better that the car arrived in that condition, because it gives you the chance to rebuild it from the ground up using your own two hands. It may not have been the reveal you were expecting, but just think of the feeling you had as a kid when K.I.T.T. was brought back to his former glory at the end of the Junkyard Dog episode. 🥳
@@RetroRecipes Does this mean you are going for the super-pursiut version of KIIT? Now that would be a challenge to get those side aerofoils and nose to go in and out. Not to mention the rear wing extension. Personally, I preferred the pre-facelift version of KITT.
I would have been pissed if a KITT clone came to me like that. $25K down the drain, and it's not even a 5.0L variant of a Firebird. Now there's a reason to get rid of the 3.1L for something else as well.

I know you will do Kitt proud by rebuilding it into something amazing. You will definitely want to customize the seat brackets to lower the driver's seat. I had a 83 camaro years ago and I had to customize the seat brackets and even the cushion to give myself more head room. Congratulations on buying Kitt.

Yeah, under that grime it's really good. This is the ZA version of the dash which has a lot of great options and bells n whistles - all to be explored!
I think you took a lot of us with you on this emotional journey - thanks for sharing the good and the bad, experiencing the thrill & happiness of getting your hands on something you've longed to own for such a long time but then mixed with the emotion of it not being as good as you'd hoped (especially when it's caused by a 3rd party) is always bittersweet. You know, it's really not that bad, you will be able to fix the cosmetic issues with the skills and resources you have. The main thing is the bodywork seems really sound and mechanically it runs after being in a shipping container for a month! I've been there with older cars and they can be a money sink. But, they are also nostalgic and unique which is why we are drawn to them - same reason we get our old consoles out of the attic :) You bought very well, don't worry 👍
Awesome pickup! I have been a Knight Rider fan since 1982 when I was 6 years old. This show is what got me to be a Pontiac fan. I have owned several Pontiacs previously, & I currently own 3 Pontiac cars currently. I own a Pontiac G8, G5, & a 04 Grand Am GT coupe. The fun part is making the car how you want it. In the future you can have the car converted to having T- Tops, just like Knight Rider Historians screen used car that was originally a hard top car. It might have been built mediocre. The shipping could not have helped, but who knows how much gum and duct tape is holding that thing together. It's a project car on a budget. And it wasn't a great car to begin with... Though now iconic.
@@bzuidgeest It just seems odd that someone would spend all the money, time and effort to buy this car in California and have it shipped all the way across the ocean - not cheap! - and then do a half-assed job on the project. Maybe a case of biting off more than they could chew.

The feeling I saw in your face when you received the car reminds me of what I felt one year ago when I took a long train ride to buy my own Kitt. I had dreamed about owning one since I was a kid and built up a impossible dream, that in retrospect had no chance to come thru. The moment I sat in the car and drove it around the block my dream was chattered.. :(It was not the feeling I wanted and I was devastated. I think it was a combination of things that made me feel that. I had never been in a old Pontiac before and was not prepared how small it was inside (everything looks so big in the show), the steering to close to my body, the gadgets didn't look so cool up close, the car movements when driving.. Yeah, not a modern car... I was so sure that I was gonna buy my own Kitt that I had not thought about a possible train ride back home. But I had to say no to it and turn home without it. I felt so sad.. I still dream from time to time that I could find a Kitt and get that feeling I dreamed of for so many years. I'm glad to see your honest feelings in this video and despite the initial let down, that you plan to make it the best possible Kitt for you. I really hope that you'll get to the point that it matches your dream. I'll definitely will follow this project and It may give me back a desire to do try and get my own kitt again. Cheers!

Absolutely amazing, I could sense your joy and frustration in equal amounts with the damage but that can be remedied. I grew up with Knight Rider (being 52 in the UK) and just wow, living a childhood dream, so envious!

Congratulations on your purchase. Have fun! I feel the pain for the damaged interior. If it’s an consolation (which it probably isn’t) but we do get an amount of that dust in the south of the UK. I live between Southampton and Portsmouth (exactly in between within a couple of miles!) and don’t remember having any amount of dust like what’s on your car for a while. It will be good to see the progress further down the line.

That is awesome! If you ever find your gear shifter stuck and find out the shifter cable has melted: make sure your engine is ground right. It was a common problem of 80's Fisher bodies and how my 87 Monte Carlo SS got it's name, Sparky.

Years ago I bought an old car sight unseen off the internet. It looked immaculate in the photos and was described by the seller as only needing a few minor mechanical things done to be perfect. When I got there and picked it up, it had cosmetic damage (both interior and exterior) which wasn't visible in the photos, and a variety of other issues. The indicators and horn didn't work. It had an issue with the fuel pump which made it stall randomly while driving. I thought I had made a big mistake, but after some time passes and emotions settle you stop caring about the first impressions anymore. I still own the car today and wouldn't sell it for any amount of money. I'm glad I bought it and am planning to keep it forever. You'll fix Kitt back up and make it the car it deserves to be.
I'm so pleased for you Peri, she's home after a long journey and only needs a little tlc that's all, no doubt she will get that from you. You really do have a chance at getting a lot of people excited to help you restore this car. I am willing to bet that there are lots of mechanics and designers and engineers who would love to put some work into this, but you likely already have a go-to crew for such things.

This is so cool. I used a KITT stunt car (From series 2 I believe) as my Wedding car in 2006. Owner still has it over here in the UK.

I would have been pissed if a KITT clone came to me like that. $25K down the drain, and it's not even a 5.0L variant of a Firebird. Now there's a reason to get rid of the 3.1L for something else as well.

It's a pity about the damage and I hope the insurance will take care of it, but there is more interest in Knight Rider now than there has ever been since it ended and I am sure that you and the KR community will make this the ultimate KITT replica.
I know you will do Kitt proud by rebuilding it into something amazing. You will definitely want to customize the seat brackets to lower the driver's seat. I had a 83 camaro years ago and I had to customize the seat brackets and even the cushion to give myself more head room.

You know, it's really not that bad, you will be able to fix the cosmetic issues with the skills and resources you have. The main thing is the bodywork seems really sound and mechanically it runs after being in a shipping container for a month! I've been there with older cars and they can be a money sink. But, they are also nostalgic and unique which is why we are drawn to them - same reason we get our old consoles out of the attic :) You bought very well, don't worry 👍
Awesome pickup! I have been a Knight Rider fan since 1982 when I was 6 years old. This show is what got me to be a Pontiac fan. I have owned several Pontiacs previously, & I currently own 3 Pontiac cars currently. I own a Pontiac G8, G5, & a 04 Grand Am GT coupe. The fun part is making the car how you want it. In the future you can have the car converted to having T- Tops, just like Knight Rider Historians screen used car that was originally a hard top car. Again, CONGRATULATIONS, & let's hope Kittesla doesn't get jealous of his new sibling!

It might have been built mediocre. The shipping could not have helped, but who knows how much gum and duct tape is holding that thing together. It's a project car on a budget. And it wasn't a great car to begin with... Though now iconic.

The feeling I saw in your face when you received the car reminds me of what I felt one year ago when I took a long train ride to buy my own Kitt. I had dreamed about owning one since I was a kid and built up a impossible dream, that in retrospect had no chance to come thru. The moment I sat in the car and drove it around the block my dream was chattered.. :(It was not the feeling I wanted and I was devastated. I think it was a combination of things that made me feel that. I had never been in a old Pontiac before and was not prepared how small it was inside (everything looks so big in the show), the steering to close to my body, the gadgets didn't look so cool up close, the car movements when driving.. Yeah, not a modern car... I was so sure that I was gonna buy my own Kitt that I had not thought about a possible train ride back home. But I had to say no to it and turn home without it. I felt so sad.. I still dream from time to time that I could find a Kitt and get that feeling I dreamed of for so many years. I'm glad to see your honest feelings in this video and despite the initial let down, that you plan to make it the best possible Kitt for you. I really hope that you'll get to the point that it matches your dream. I'll definitely will follow this project and It may give me back a desire to do try and get my own kitt again. Cheers!

Absolutely amazing, I could sense your joy and frustration in equal amounts with the damage but that can be remedied. I grew up with Knight Rider (being 52 in the UK) and just wow, living a childhood dream, so envious!
Awesome KITT replica, congratulations 😃 Might need a little cleaning and some finishing touches, but it's in good starting point, the KITT parts are there, the electronics seems to work, and so on.

I feel the pain for the damaged interior. If it’s an consolation (which it probably isn’t) but we do get an amount of that dust in the south of the UK. I live between Southampton and Portsmouth (exactly in between within a couple of miles!) and don’t remember having any amount of dust like what’s on your car for a while.

Talking about dreams coming true: WOW! As always, when something you really want comes to be true, there is something that makes the experience less than what expected. However, now you'll have very interesting restoration project and bring Kitt to be as you want it. We'll be watching!
That is awesome! If you ever find your gear shifter stuck and find out the shifter cable has melted: make sure your engine is ground right. It was a common problem of 80's Fisher bodies and how my 87 Monte Carlo SS got it's name, Sparky.

Years ago I bought an old car sight unseen off the internet. It looked immaculate in the photos and was described by the seller as only needing a few minor mechanical things done to be perfect. When I got there and picked it up, it had cosmetic damage (both interior and exterior) which wasn't visible in the photos, and a variety of other issues. The indicators and horn didn't work. It had an issue with the fuel pump which made it stall randomly while driving. I thought I had made a big mistake, but after some time passes and emotions settle you stop caring about the first impressions anymore. I still own the car today and wouldn't sell it for any amount of money. I'm glad I bought it and am planning to keep it forever. You'll fix Kitt back up and make it the car it deserves to be.
