Great stuff! And now Eastblock finally starts his Channel??!! Think of what Jae said... Streetphotography is not dying on UA-cam... haja!! Nicely done Jim....love the fun mood this time!
Your comment on everyone's eyes showing unbearable loneliness is spot on. I keep coming back to a similar thought taking photos here in Washington D.C. I find that I see either those eyes, or the ones that are on the precipice between laugher and weeping. Keep up the great work!
It's tricky to take nightly street shots on film in German-speaking countries, with or without an actual pandemic! It looked like fun though (: Btw. What was the other camera in Elmar's backpack?
with flash you can shoot at smaller aperture like f4 or f8 to get the scene sharp but still confident that there's enough light? or zone focusing at night time? is this right or other things I need to consider?
Yes, that's basically right. There are usually charts on the backs of flashes for using them manually, and it includes your iso, aperture, and distance to subject (because the light falls off). So you can use that to find out how close you need to be to have an aperture of f8 or higher and get pretty reliable focus.
I don't often see flash being used with black and white for some reason, it gives out some really interesting results. I should buy one! Have you ever tried pushing HP5 with a flash? It might be nice!
You should! I think in the end that I kind of did push the film roll you see here- it was crazy overexposed, probably partially my fault but I'd also mixed a new batch of chemicals and used my machine to process, which leads to a different kind of agitation than normal. But yeah I'm sure you could end up with a crazy contrasty look if you push it far enough.
sure push it to 1600 with a flash you'll have a autofocus camera. You can close thne aperture down to 11 or 16. With the zone focus there will be everything in focus. Just try it. HP5 at 1600 is cool. You can even push it up to 3200, 6400, or try and go for more.
It looks like you were using your CANAON P!(deep voice yell) what external flash did you use? Another great video, rare to night time street photography these days
"Legends of Elmar"😂 man your captions were hilarious. Good vibes good times.

Thanks- everywhere you go there you are, as they say, these days especially.
The picture of the girl @13:49 looks like the wall has googly eyes. Great video as always!
Loving your movies, Jim, and the music goes perfectly, but then it would wouldn't it 😁
Oh and let's make eastblockboy start a UA-cam channel as well!
