I work as a CNA at the State Hosptial here in my town, taking care of those with mental illness. I learned this song for one patient in particular who told me over and over again how it was his favorite song in the world while he was very manic. I played it for him a few times and it brought him to tears. Now that he is out of his manic phase, he still requests that I play it for him now and again. Thanks a lot Marty for teaching me an amazing song, man! One of my dad's favorites as well!! =)

I like the way you teach.......I had a stroke a few years ago and could not play guitar for a year but slowly worked my way back up to playing again. It is hard for me to learn. It's like that movie 50 first dates......But it may take about 10 times longer to learn but If I like the song. I will get it sooner or later.

Thanks, Ive been playing the no capo F# minor to B7 and Just can't get a smooth transition starting on A then back to E after.. This is a nice way to do an informal sing along, which is all I do anyway.

Hey Marty, thanks for another great lesson. I have two suggestions that might help us beginners even more; A different camera that doesn't give that "warp" look. (Although that's what the entire seventies looked like for some of us...) and maybe post the chords on the screen as you play them. That would help those of us who have a hard time knowing what chord you are playing (only sometimes) just by watching your hands. Hey, I LOVE your stuff! Thanks!
All of my vids have the chords in the top corner, but can't be seen if you use apple products. I am in the process of changing my vids going forward so you do see the chords, as far as the other camera goes, I'm trying to keep it simple but want you the viewer to figure it out a little and then eventually play with me, that's the goal to practice and then play. Hope this helps, thanx for tuning in

I play the rhythm on an acoustic 12, with a capo on 2. I play D,G,A7. Is this ok, and is it played in eighth note time?

Ya it seems a little high for you so I ask (sorry to repeat) why use that capo?
I sometimes have to go with what sounds better on the guitar so I struggle with the vocal sometimes, but I try my best. Thanx for tuning in
How come the capo?
I think it sounds better, but that's my preference, if you don't want to use it, no problem.
Sup Marty: why use a capo?
You don't have to, but I find that key fits my voice and with the capo on it's easier to play, hope this helps, thanx
