His ability to throw the left head kick right behind his left hand, with the amount of power he puts on it is insane. It doesn't even make sense, Cro Cop is a legend. He has granite shins.
he deserves to be called Legend unlike Lebanner. Lebanner had way too many WTF fights vs weak opponents.

I like that he doesn't kick them in the head when they're wobbly. He just throws punches to knock them out, like he knows it would be overkill to kick them in the head at that point.
Why would he throw a head kick instead of laying down bombs lol. The punches are more brutal. Theyre covered up, they cld see the headkick. Thats one strike compared to 5 or 6 he cld of thrown

CRO crop in his prime, was an absolute beast. Much smaller than most opponents in this video...but killed them.

Not really they just accumulated their records through very shitty competition in Japan. That’s why they pretty much all got smashed once they hit the UFC. It’s a different league on the world class stage
@@fanglee498 Great. But you opinion is in the minority. They also fought a number of UFC fighters and beat them up like rented mules. The UFC heavy weight division is horrible at best. That is why light heavy weights had to move up and give some color to an otherwise bland division. Nothing really attractive going on there. Not worth it to spend the money to watch.

i mean if youre talking as combat sport athletes (meaning you're including kickboxing) then maybe mirko is in there, but if you're talking about mma exclusively, mirko isnt the best or second best. Hes a legend but not the goat.

To fully comprehend cro cops power, these were professional fighters, conditioned to withstand the likes of various leg kicks yet even at their calibre he was able to make them visibly show their pain with wincing and limping, no pretending they weren't hurt, they felt it and they could not deny it.
Yeah it's one thing to do this to MMA fighters. Entirely different to do it to high level kickboxers.

I remember reading somewhere that growing up Mirko had all his neighbors and people that new him thinking he was crazy because all he did was stay in his parents barn all day and night long working out and kicking heavy shit.
It's easy to forget this man had a whole K1 career before MMA.
I was always biased when it came to CroCop as I'm of Croatian heritage. Wasn't too impressed with his UFC career but watching these older fights really show just how great he was.
CroCop is in my top 5 greatest heavyweights. Sure he may not be the goat, but he would brutalize almost everyone.
Mirko is Serb. Classic serbian name and surname. Branko Cikatic (first croatian fighter and K-1 winner) talked about it. Search it.

Mirko was the type of fighter who rarely relied on elbow and knees. Every blow he landed were devastatingly brutal. There was really no need for them. Mirko faced monsters every match and that's what makes him even more scary.
He didn’t rely on elbows much because he fought in rule sets that didn’t allow for them.

Saps face haha 🤣 I always thought he went down to easy but I think that kick got him right on the floating rib and was a bit of delayed reaction. My favourite K1 fighter was Remy though, Such clean, crisp technique.

Cro Cop is one of my favorite fighters of all time. His kicks are legendary but his hands were also heavy. His offensive ground game was weak but defensively I don't remember anyone forcing him to tap (I'm sure someone has just don't remember).

Cro cop and Fedor in their primes would run through UFC’s heavy weight class like a hot knife through butter.
No. They both had shortcomings that would have ended badly for them against the elite of today. Fedor had a sloppy stand up and relied on his takedowns to cover up his charging winging boxing. His sub game looked much better than it was back then because of the level of grapplers he faced. I'll grant him his ground and pound against nogeria was a master class. Cro cop would be taken down by the top he wrestlers of today without question.
As much as I like them no they wouldnt. There natural lhws. Cro cop weighed 220 ish in his prime. I think he weighed 214 for the saku fight.

If you watched Mirco documentary you can see his obssesion with head kicks.
He literally painted a person on his wall and threw head kick all day at 2 m height
Not once did they talk it out and get to a peaceful resolution before the match.
