No mas! Thats one where you need payment same day, no checks!!! I wouldve thought hard about refusing service on that one. Thats the type of call where you fix it, 2 days later the compressor blows, and the next thing you know your getting a 1 star Google review amd blasted on Facebook because you "JUST fixed the cooler and now you want thousands of dollars more"

I had a service request on a similar box recently. I walked away and said we were the wrong company to service them. They asked if I had a referral. Dude, I couldn’t do that to my worst enemy!
I saw one like this. It was an outdoor walk-in freezer that had a tarp bungee strapped over it and had been like that for a while. Ended up there were 3 layers of tarps when one wore out another was thrown over it. There were broken bungees on the ground around it. The heaters on the evap were no longer embedded in the fins and condenser fins were flattened over. There were a foot and a half long stalactites hanging from ceiling and ice piling up on the floor. It looked like the box was gonna fold in on itself from all the added weight. But I was called out because the door wouldn't latch! The closer was bad. I didn't even bother replacing it, i just omitted it. I told the owner he needed to go ahead and add another tarp because the other 3 had failed.
That fan motor is technically an outboard motor now!
The fan spraying the water is to keep the produce fresh.

lol - sadly, that's hardly rare. I used to help a friend out that serviced restaurant equipment - I rarely eat out anymore. Far healthier to eat at home too!

Indoor refrigeration condensers dont even work on roofs in rhode island anymore. They just go off on high head pressure or dlt alarm when it gets 90+. Its almost like the indoor condensing units have a smaller condenser
No shroud so they recirculate is what I’ve noticed.
they often do, as they're meant for a conditioned indoor climate space. same thing happens if the building HVAC fails, temperature and humidity climbs and done.

That is one where you tell them they need to lift the pad lock, slide the old box out and then slide in a new box, then put the pad lock on the new box. That is hammered and is a health hazard. Too bad some of the inspectors will over look things like that but ding good restaurants for having caulking missing around the sinks.

I got a call the other day for walk in cooler freezing up get there there “walk In “ was under some stairs they build a wall with plywood and 2x4 put a old walk in door and and plastic panels on the inside hung a walk evaporator in there and said they don’t know why it keeps freezing air gaps everywhere not properly insulated told them this would never work

you would be surprised at how many chain fast food joints or restaurants have this same type of equipment...this looks like something chilis would have or KFC for sure...i have see it all in my 25 years of servicing commercial refrig...from local places to corporate chains...nothing shocks me anymore

Dave I got 3 phase power coming in wit a high leg ,gonna runn a scroll 3 phase does the high leg usually go on run terminal? ?
It’s 3 phase just check the rotation if it’s out your compressor will be noisy and not pump.
just note that it will be 240V 3 phase, not 208V. as long as nothing is expecting 120V or 208V and requiring a neutral, it really wouldn't matter to the equipment.
if it's an odd setup which requires a neutral and 120V or 208V then you'll have to select the correct wiring choice. high leg to neutral will get you 208v single phase, while either of the other hot lines to neutral will be 120v.
I don't think any of them would do something that stupid, then again! it could be an issue on an RTU, if it has a 120v service receptacle, but that's usually field installed stuff.
