    Is this the cooler that's not working right? "I couldn't tell you"
    It's my number one frustration in this trade, nobody knows anything about anything or where anything is at or why people called.
    End up working on the wrong condenser the other day then find out the condenser I needed was on a different buildings roof

      All the new stuff is failing because they're making them more efficient..( less heavy duty). Higher efficient compressors don't have any extra horse power behind them and burn up easily plus super-efficient evaporator and condenser coils leak easier because they have better heat transfer thanks to it being thinner.

    In Sweden we do maintenance as well (yearly leak search or more often if breaking a gwp limit (more gas in the unit)) as it's required to the laws for f-gasses, at the same time we clean and check condition of equipment and repair if needed (with ok from customer) to get rid of 95% emergency calls on overtime.

      I believe I've only mentioned a few things about it and another video. I believe it was even at this place possibly a year ago. From the way it's been explained to me it's just an oversized TXV valve that's able to run normal superheat with lower than traditional head pressure.

    • @HVACRSurvival

    • @HardKnocks101
      @HardKnocks101 Рік тому +2

      @@HVACRSurvival I meant the valve you capped at the discharge line. You only sealed the cap but didn’t adjust the valve itself. We always crank those up when we find the leak there.

    • @throttlebottle5906
      @throttlebottle5906 Рік тому +1

      @@HardKnocks101 that style valve has the stem sealed by an o-ring, once it's old and elasticity gone it, it no longer seals and out comes the gas/oil.
      if it's the type with stem retained by a snap ring, it is possible to pull the valves apart and install a new o-ring, but nobody does that!

    • @HardKnocks101
      @HardKnocks101 Рік тому +2

      @@throttlebottle5906 yup, clear as mud. I know the valve and how it functions. I am also very familiar that it leaks. I still am very curious why Rick didn’t run the valve down and back up to try and stop the leak. Guess we’ll never know….

    • @throttlebottle5906
      @throttlebottle5906 Рік тому +2

      @@HardKnocks101 better to "let sleeping dogs lie", because the o-ring sure won't magically become round again and the chances of it leaking worse are very great, it could even go full hisser in which you cannot get the cap back on or burn yourself doing so. the school of self learned hard knocks will teach you that one day( lol)
