Your learning a ton with this, i have a chopped, sectioned, decked, nosed, shaved, lovered 50 shoebox, shit ton of hours into it.. i drive it as much as possible, nothing like a true led sled! I need to make a walk around vid on here of it, keep up the good fight young blood, make sure you watch Voodoo larry on here, hes got tons of real info
Great progress man! Really enjoying this build. One thing to consider - I've been noticing that as you work on the rear of the roof, the window frame is definitely flexing as you move the sheet metal around. My concern is that the window may not fit once you weld everything in. Is it possible to mount the window in place while you set your panels in place? I'd hate to see you get all the sheet metal work done and then not be able to fit the glass in. Really loving the process here and how you're thinking out loud as you go. It feels like we're all learning this together through your project. Thanks for bringing us along. Keep em comin!
Yeah I’ve noticed that too with the rear window. It should have had some supports welded in to it. I hope it’s not tweaked but I think I should add some structure to it before I get to really welding on that rear section. I think it helps keeping you all involved in how I’m thinking, what I’m thinking and showing that I have no idea what I’m doing, I have a vision in my head and I’m trying to work it in metal haha.
cool vision. gonna have a good bodyline once its all filled in. suckers low! get a couple packs of the butt weld clamps from harbor freight, work good for clamping sheet metal in place while fitting.
Yeah I think if I can pull this off, that roof line will look pretty good how low it is. I know I need to stop in there, I’ve been meaning to so I can try those out. I also need more clamps haha.
They’re awesome looking cars. I got rid of my other one unfortunately. 😬 I’ll miss it but what I traded it for made my little girl so happy, so it’s worth it to me.

Thanks for the advice, I’ll definitely check out that channel. And I’ll be watching for that walk around video! Your shoebox sounds sweet!
