The Dometic Coolair RTX 2000 creates pleasant temperatures for up to twelve hours before the battery monitor gives advance warning and finally cuts off the power supply to keep the engine ready to start. The even more powerful RTX 2000 uses its ample capacity to face hot temperatures in the truck cabin for up to twelve hours. Added to this, the CoolAir is amazingly quiet in operation. The two-cylinder compressor works unnoticeably, leaving the driver to rest perfectly to enjoy all the comforts of the parking cooler: the large, high-contrast display, the individually adjustable air distribution, the four operating modes - and the adaptive automatic mode of the air conditioner. Truck drivers are fascinated by the enormous staying power of the CoolAir RTX.

Put a lithium ion battery bank in between the frame rails. They’re light and last a long time.

I never really understood the principal of running a separate "voltage sense" line when you have the exact same connection to the main power line. Couldn't I just tap and fuse it off the main line?

How long will it run with the truck off without draining the batteries to the point it won't crank on?

If I decided to go this route where can I go for install? We just had a mini split that died on us and we’re looking at other options. Would be a 2017 freightliner cascadia. And about how much is it to install?

So I have a sunroof on my Freightliner Classic, it's a downward sloping angle. This is where I would like to put an AC unit since there is already an existing hole. Can I still install this at an angle?

      Hi there @lerotstevens5207,
Thanks for sharing your experience with the unit. It's true that sometimes, depending on the external conditions and the size of your space, one air conditioning unit might not be sufficient to maintain the desired temperature, especially in hotter climates.
Running the front AC along with the rooftop one seems like a practical workaround, but it's always a good idea to consult with a professional to find the most efficient solution for your specific needs. It's possible that there may be other ways to improve the efficiency of your current setup, such as increasing insulation or checking for any maintenance needs.
Stay cool and enjoy your adventures!

Ivan - We don't sell this company's products any longer, and the post is a couple of years old... but in terms of price, you often get what you pay for in the DC-powered mobile AC market. Even today with our Nomadic Cooling X3, X2 and S1 AC units, we constantly strive to maintain our leadership as innovators in the industry. The cost for state-of-the art cooling technology is not cheap, you're right about that... but comparable units to ours don't always deliver on their promises or published specs. Our products do. We stand by our products with extended warranties, repairs and replacement parts to protect your investment, and our customer support is top-notch when it comes to installing and troubleshooting. We hope you're able to find a product that will work for your needs, and thank you for the comment.
