No he is not.....he is one of the unique guitarist...and he is giutarist, who don.t need hollywood fame..or glitter. He is a guitarist... With unique style and way to play. He don.t need that kind of fame.
I saw them at Guaynabo coliseum in Puerto Rico in the early 1980's . At the end of that concert, he said what do you want me to play, I replied very loudly, Humble Stance" , they played that song.. Profound memories of my youth.
There is not, nor has there ever been, a better band than SAGA! They are not my favorite band, but the level of musicianship and vocal prowess on display at this concert, is staggering! Ian Crichton is perhaps the most precise guitarist I have ever seen, I swear he has a metronome hard-wired into his brain! Watch this concert, these guys are still absolutely on top of their game! And there's only been a few bands ever who could come close to their level of precision! ROCK OF AGES is amazing!

Gleiche Geschichte: "Wie findest du das"? Eh, geile Musik. Das war ca. Anfang der 80er Jahre. Die Band ist immer noch super. Am Besten über eine gute Anlage mit mächtig Wums, so wie das viele früher hatten.
Saw Saga in the late 70s in London, they opened for Stix. Saga got a fantastic response that night from everyone, And i guess like me now one had ever heard of them before. Still sound great after all those years.
@@keithscarterfield sure did, I won't forget saga that night. Just wish they would have kept that prog rock sound though on the album's that followed silent Knight.
I've been a huge fan of SAGA since the beginning until today! Whenever they have a performance near me, I'll be there! I will climb into the coffin with their music one day.❤❤❤❤❤
Nicht nur Ian Crichton ist einer der genialsten Musiker unserer Zeit. Diese Band, SAGA, ist in sich so genial. Drums, Synthies, Bass, Guitars....alles an SAGA ist ausgesucht genial.
I was at the first show of saga at rock of ages festival in 2006, it was a new festival in germany with saga the headliners of the second day of the fest, the show of saga was one hell of a party, I was lucky to meet a few hours before the show all the members of saga minus the drummer, I saw saga once again in 2014 at Sweden rock festival, the show was another celebration, thanks saga for all the wonderful music, the shows and great memories, you're the best
Fans they heard them in the 70t`s and 80t`s know`s what a fantastic Band they where . it`s like every other Band with great Musicians , they must have their Time and they have their Time and it was a great Time , WtF , the greatest time in my life !!!! One of the best Bands in the World for every time . Ian Crichton is a Guitar God and the other members of the Band are God`s too thank´s that you`ve brought me a better Life :-)
This video gave me a rush watching it. I can't believe how great they still sound. Saw them in 1986 in Chicago. Unfortunately they never toured the states again.
heyy,i see you are also fan from saga;i see saga 1981 my first concert in my life.and my first and last trip . snd yi was 1983 for 3 months in Chicago..yeah i live in Switzerland, but my girlfriend in chicaco i fond to the Facebook after 36 years..i have xontact.i zell you tgis, because i love saga so much, and i was on Chicago, like you.i was one concert im Chicago, i never see this.the people take sleepingthings and make Picknick.. haha.the depeche mode was there. bye 😅
I´saw saga live long time ago, and they sound every time better!. No much bands do the same. Combining the guitar with the keyboard and the syncopated drum rhythms is a really difficult task, only typical of a great band. It can be done just with hard work, time and expierience!
Saw them so many times in Niagara falls Canada early 80's ..if Rush was playing same night trust me people were going to see Saga they put on a better show and you got girls at a Saga show LOL !!! ....so sad they had to go to Europe to make it big but glad somebody could appreciate how good they were
Why is Ian's brother Jim no longer in the band? Props to Michael for singing and playing bass "great job" what a voice too. I remember i was quite sad when he left the band and couldn't imagine them without him. Glad I missed that period and that he's back home where he belongs. Great band, great musicians, they deserve so much more attention. Long live SAGA 👍☮️
Oh yes, Ian is a good Player. Bit he is a one of my heros. I play self guitar, and this guy inspirate me in all of its playing riffs. A big hurray to Ian :-)
Saga created the galactic rock sound. Those who loved it, loved it a lot. The rest looked for a generic sound, some category to fit Saga in. By being so unique and so uniquely humble, they were mostly overlooked as Canada's most original contribution to rock, at least of the Supertramp magnitude. And Canada settled for cookie-cutter 'trail-blazers' in the late '70s and early 80s of the Loverboy, Platinum Blonde, Glass Tiger, Doug and the Slugs, or Brian Adams ilk because in Canada you make it big only only if you sound like second-grade Americans to show those damn Yanks that Canadians can be as good as them by sounding just like them.
SAGA still sounds amazing. SO underrated. I loved WORLDS APART, but released at a time when Cyndi Lauper, Madonna were mainstream and RUSH was still out in left field (The way I like it !) I guess SAGA hard a harder time finding a foothold. I think that was my first intro into proggish type music.
i know what you mean! It's like you play "In Transit" on your record player at the same time, and there is a 0,0000000000000001% difference in timing!🤣
Some of the much older clips of this song, the drummer at the time was rushing into and through his fills which made the technicality of the solo section much harder for the band to synch with. This drummer is fantastic, and the band performed this like clockwork! Amazing!
Michael Sadler’s voice is pure gold! What a tight band! Wow 😮❤
one of the greats
Yeah, tight is the right word! Every note of all different instruments falls into place so effortlessly. Incredible!
OMG... incredible...Sadler is an amazing bassists as well as incredible singer. Perfect live performance all around...the band .. perfect.
My first Saga concert was in 84 and the last one 23. Michael Sadler voice is still stunning.
Ian Crichton one of the most underrated guitarists - absolute genius
No he is not.....he is one of the unique guitarist...and he is giutarist, who don.t need hollywood fame..or glitter.

With unique style and way to play.
He don.t need that kind of fame.
"underrated" what a word :(
had the great fortune to see him 'live' 3 times!....wonderful guitarist!
I love his sound!!!, power, precision, perfect rock guitar sound
No se mucho ingles for me a great great band all the times
Es gibt kein keine Band die SAGA das Wasser reichen kann!!! Ohne Worte "I Iove you"
stimmt ....... 😎
I loved it when last year Michael Sadler sad: "when you keep buying tickets, we keep playing because this is what we truly love".
Briliant . Saga sind Legenden.

umh... Mahavishnu Orchestra & ELP... just sayin' ... ;-)
(yes, I love Saga, they ARE among the best, and Crichton IS amazing!)
They are just like wine....the elder they are, the better they will be.....and they are better than ever....and they are still growing.....

One of my favorite bands , still great as ever ! Wonderful songs , musicianship and vocals ! WOW !!!
Thankyou Saga for contributing a great soundtrack to coincide with my healthy struggles growing up.
Great, strong sound, even more powerful than decades ago. Some bands defy time and age.
Love live SAGA!
I listen to this Album/concert at least once a day. This is the best they’ve ever sounded in my humble opinion

Beautiful Song...Great Guitarist!
Love them especially Michael the lead singer & the brilliant lead guitarist. 💜💜💜💪💪💪💪
Fantastic! My first CD was "Behavior" in 1985. Been Following since then. Can't wait for this one to hit!
Sounds just as awesome as they would've performed it in 1978
To me, the longer they play, the tighter they get!
Saw them on the "Live in Transit" Tour. Timeless Song!
Danke !

You were a great fit for Saga- it's hard to replace Steve, but you brought those songs to life in an amazing way. I hope we'll meet again.
Rock solid, ThorneDJO! Sounds fantastic!
