Hey I really appreciate you posting this video because my Uncle Walt had a dairy with the same setup for cleaning the barn and I wanted to see it again and your video aloud me to relive my memory and the way you describe the amount of work in the winter gives me greater appreciation of how hard he worked! He did have an elevator that the one from the barn emptied into and I could never figure out why it had wheels that were 90 degrees from the elevator but now I realize that it could roll or drive side to side so you could make a big pile and not have to spread as often but it had this distinct sound when the chain was going around the corners and everything moving like that it was really intimidating for a 4 year old thanks for posting 😀🇨🇦
Our neighbor where we get our hay from has the same cleaner. He gave my niece and nephew a tour of his barn a couple of summers ago and showed them how it works. They still talk about that.
have you ever had the chain come off the guide in the corners? We have this same system but our chain came off from our system getting over full. Before we have to call repair there must be a way to loosen off the chain to get it back on the guide. Just dont want to play with a tight chain. It is loose on the return section.
Amazing that old school technology worked so well! Definitively better than the "Jack Armstrong" method. Thanks for the story on 1020, she had a lot of baggage when she arrived. Hope your plan to rescue her works. How about the number of the sweetheart cow who lost her calf during the frigid weather so we can follow her.
It may be a pain to keep those calves in the barn but as you mentioned before they help keep the barn a little warm (nothing would during that cold snap) and it trains the calves to be more friendly to you and Dad, like dairy animals.
U know things didn't have to change people in this world changed things they way u r doing it is just as good as a fancy ass barns are all about money convenients because most folks in today's world dont have a clue about doing a hard days work technology has made some lazy cuss people. Keep on keeping on fella. G ok d bless u
there is no such thing as spreadin poo in the winter here, nothing go though 6 feet of snow and even if you could at -40 with wind chill of -60 the poo would be a block of ice before you got down the road, i stock pile till spring like everyone else that dont have a pit

Clean out the shit oh no that is a mess job!!!
You have awesome videos
The barn cleaners are a life and back saver!!
This reminds me of my grandfather's dairy barn. So much work for such little profit.
Good video. Love seeing the barn cleaner again.
Waste oil is a blessing on those barn cleaners!
Those older dairy barns maybe antique but they sure serve a useful cost effective solution
Keep on going. Old school still works be safe..

That's a cool setup in that barn Ben
