On this day we went to our usual flying spot and it was thick fog! So we drove 10mins and found this spot which was completely clear, but with great views of the surrounding patches of low fog! We had a couple of flights, on the first one the Osmo Action 3 wasn’t recording, which was a share as it was slightly better conditions, and my throw of the AR Pro was much better than the one in this video 😅
WTFOS - Well this is a nice treat! Having full OSD back with choice of some cool fonts really enhanced the experience of flying on DJI and its nice to be able to show my OSD in videos again. 😎 Unfortunately I forgot to turn off some of the alarms though! Oops! Sorted for next time.
The Swordfish (tiny.cc/AtomRC-Swordfish) is a good plane, ideal size, super quiet and I just love how it came pre built with an FC already installed with iNav! I’ll do a video on this soon.

Added Note: All footage from the Swordfish with the OSD is the DVR footage recorded in the goggles (Not on board recording with OSD overlay). The air unit is set to 500mw and 50mbps.

Great job with this amazing video!! I have a Swordfish and hope to maiden it soon but I'm new to flight controllers. Where do I get a thin "4-pin" connector to connect my AxisFlying ELRS receiver to one of the UARTS on the F405 NAVI flight controller? Thanks!
Thanks :) If you just mean the servo connectors then go on amazon and search dupont connectors. You can find packs that come with the pins and multiple size connectors. Cheers

Cheers mate 🙌🏻 Swordfish doesn’t have much yaw authority. Especially compared to Alba. If you use the rudder it just seems to dip the nose rather than yawing.
Gr8 watch. i look forward to flying mine but for some reason the motors wont turn when i arm. Any idea what could have cause it to not turn. was working before.
Thanks. Could be many reasons why motors aren't tuning. Too many to list. I'd check over all your connections, tx config and inav config if I were you. Remember they will only spin when the plane is armed
Awesome view! Just finished my swordfish with iNav 5.0. Do you get any more stability from the bottom tail fins?
If I’m honest I never flew it without the fins. For me they are an essential item as without them I wouldn’t hit CG with the 3000 4S I’m using. Keep an eye on them on landings as they can be ripped off. Cheers 😁

Putting DJI goggles over the ear is something I never thought of but it makes a lot of sense. They just don't want to stay on the forehead during launches
Yeah I find them really hard to balance on my forehead like my analogue goggles, just a small bit of movement and they fall over my eyes. One of the reasons I’d like to upgrade to the goggles 2 if they sort out the firmware situation.
I love the photo at the end ❤ the 🗡️ 🐠 is really a whole different animal to fly I’ve flown mines in 25mph steady winds and she acts like it’s a calm day 😂 too bad your location is too far from 🇺🇸 I’d meet up and we can get another bird up there to fly with and get some more great views

Hi David, the recording are all from the goggles DVR file, so this is exactly what I was seeing live. After the flight there will be 3 files on your goggles, the video, .srt and .osd. You then use an online tool to overlay the osd on the DVR file using the files from the goggles SD card. Cheers

great video as usual, curious to know how to mounted the air unit, I'm thinking of buying a swordfish and adding the caddx vista for FPV but I'm worried it will overheat, did you have any issues?
Hi, I just placed the AU in the space on top of the plane that is designed for your digital vtx. No issues with overheating ever, and that on 1200mw. Check out my latest Swordfish video and there's a shot of the setup at the end. Cheers

Do you use the f405 NAVI? Layout is cleaner than Matek.
Yeah I use the FC that came pre installed. Works well enough, a couple of small things about it that I like less than Matek though
I always like fixed wings because it feels thrilling that you need to keep on moving forward to keep you flying unlike 'drones' - it can hovers around. Is that why you don't fly drones in your video?
Yeah exactly. I feel a sense of accomplishment flying fixed wing and don’t get that satisfaction flying multi rotors 👍🏻

Hi 👋🏻 yes Crossfire is on dynamic mode, you can see the tx power output in the top right of the osd. For most of the flight it was between 25mw and 100mw. Cheers 😊

Conditions were rare, made for a great video...Are we looking at live footage recorded on the goggles with OSD.?..Or is it onboard footage from the Air unit with OSD overlay applied? 🤔😳😏😏🇬🇧
Hi ET, rare conditions indeed, which I wasn't expecting! The footage with the OSD is DVR file from the goggles, there is no 'on-board' recording from the Swordfish. Everything you see from the AR Pro is from an Osmo Action 3. Cheers
@@AdamGdoesFPV It looked great...not the best lighting conditions. I'm fairly used to the OSD overlay tool now. It means you can lay OSD over any HD footage from different sources provided the frame rate matches...It works great for me...Where do you get your 360 panning servos???...🤔😳😏😏🇬🇧
@@EnglishTurbines Lighting was difficult for any camera but the Polar handled it well. Unfortunately the OA3 was purchase don the way to the field and needed a software update to enable HDR so that struggled with the light too.
Pan servos I use the following and mod them with 2.2k resistors for approx 300 degree rotation:

It's a good plane and a really nice all rounder. A lot good going for it. Potential down sides you should consider:
- Not designed to take a lot of battery, i fly with 3,000 4S lipo.
- Not a good design to carry a bulky HD cam like a gorpo, and maybe not great for smaller ones either
- If you like using a lot of rudder, I find it really ineffective on the Swordfish.

What a fancy OSD you have... What is it?
WTFOS with SneakyFPV fonts. 👌🏻
what is DJI WTFOS? particularly wtfos
It’s custom firmware for the DJI goggles and transmitters designed outside of DJI. They made it possible to root hack the goggles and install this firmware which gives you a lot more control and features, with the main one being MSP display for full OSD which is awesome. It also means you can record your OSD like I have in this video. Google it and you’ll find their site, super easy to do and user friendly.

Hi 😊 the version I have is ‘RTH’ which is $234 with the 10% off coupon. I’m not here to try and sell it, but I don’t think that’s a bad price considering it comes with 2 motors, 2 escs, 4 x digital servos, an F405 FC and a 220 GPS… all pre installed with iNav on it ready to go. With the way things are these days I don’t think it’s a bad deal but I’m always very interested to hear other opinions 👍🏻😃
