Tried this on highway and for parallel parking. This is amazing 🎉 mind blowing technology!!! As long as the driver stays alert, this is sooooo convenient 🍾
What I liked was taking a long trip (7-hours) using FSD and arriving actually rested and relaxed. I always thought that it was the long-drive that made me exhausted after such trips when actually it was the stress of being "switched on" driving for those hours. FSD is amazing.
Rested and relaxed was my experience also when I took a 2600 mile round trip with my Tesla Y and FSD made such a big difference! Charging was never a problem either.
I was using FSD from several versions ago. It worked but was a bit jerky and hesitant. I received an update and suddenly the driving was smoother but much less safe: speeding up entering a busy intersection and then slamming on the brakes and driving right by the exits on the route. I went to an EV event where Zac from Now You Know Tesla was present. I told him about it and he said that upcoming updates would probably fix it. But they did not. I called Tesla to arrange service and they said they remotely inspected the system in my car and it worked fine. I finally figured out that it had to be something I was doing wrong when putting the car into FSD. I checked this video and realized that the initial software update had made it obligatory for me to go back and restart the FSD (Supervised) from the menu. I had been in autopilot the entire time I thought I was in FSD! Thank you! I am going to see if this does the trick!
I have been using the FSD for 5 days now - went on a very long trip (6hrs one way) and the FSD made the entire drive way more comfortable - I haven’t figured out how to get it to park in my driveway at home - it just pulls up to the curb
I tried FSD on my new Model Y but the car keeps prompting me to hold the wheel. Is that normal? I find the usefulness dubious if I have to grab the wheel every minute.
Here are a few more observations- 1. The auto park feature is just out of the world! I had to park in the underground parking garage of a hotel in Canada and the spot was really tight. Couldn’t spot a better one in the vicinity and tried the auto park feature. It did all the intricate manoeuvres and parked the perfectly safe 🎉 2. The car takes the exit ramps but it fails to read the speed limit for the ramp. I suppose, the model requires more training images for the rhombus shaped speed signposts Overall, it is an outstanding piece of engineering ❤
my tesla does lane changes all on its own, no cars around, just driving down the highway and the left turn signal activates and starts a lane change, and, is there any way to have cruise control on without FSD? I now have the one click on and the rest has been greyed out on my ui.
I had driving mode set to chill, but the acceleration was still too fast (from 🛑 to speed limit). Is there a way I can change the acceleration speed? Also I found out that Tesla camera didn't see potholes. It was day time and the potholes were big, my model Y went over the potholes in full speed without slowing down
@@teslahowto Thanks for responding but the only setting I saw was Automatic Set Speed Offset which was in Off mode by default. I turned it on but there was no difference in acceleration from stop to speed limit (still felt like riding a roller coaster)
Nice video. Thanks. One thing I can't figure out is what to do when FSD takes me to my destination. IE how to I tell it I'm there? If I disengage with the brake or wheel the "you've disengaged. what happened?" box pops up and it asks me to verbalize. The FSD did perfectly but it it thinks it didn't. I'm sure I'm missing something simple but I can't figure it out as of yet.
CAUTION! Worked great on the road, took me from Chicago to Michigan with no issues........city driving was dangerous, It tried to turn left from the middle lane in front of a turning school bus. Then it shut off in the middle of a turn and had me going right toward the curb. Could not get into a turn lane because of traffic, then tried to do so in the middle of the intersection in front of other turning cars. Have shut it off and will continue driving on my own.
I have Tesla FSD v12.3.6. How do you set the following distance with the car in front? I am only seeing "Chill/Average/Assertive". There was a way to set it from 1 to 7. Is that permanently gone?
Is there a way to enable / disable the auto max? It seems to engage automatically in city limits and change into "max actual speed" mode when I'm in the freeway... In my experience, the auto seems to go WAY fast in certain areas (e.g. tried to go 50 in a school zone) so I want to be able to set the max speed myself at ANY time. Is there a toggle I can use for this?
The automatic speed offset is not working for me. I set it for +10 on the interstates, and the car almost NEVER goes to that speed unless I actually physically push the accelerator to speed it up. It makes FSD almost worthless for me, or at least the auto speed is worthless. It makes my drive more stressful requring me to do more than I would normally do, lol.
Great video. Tks Now Tesla needs to drop the price to $100 a month. At that price they would make so much more vs the very few that buy it for $16000 cnd.
