Hey, I ordered this tool, tried it on my 99 328ic and it didn't work. I was gonna return it but I searched and found this video. I saw your use of the 20-pin so I got one and tried it again. Guess who's scanner is working now? Thanks a ton.
@@millertimebmw thank you very much. It would be so helpful to me. The only way I found to do it correctly is getting an old PC with a COM adapter and to connect it directly to the car, being ablento read the codes with some softwares. Sorry if I explained bad, the English isn’t my first languaje as you can notice. 😂
Does this codereader work with newer model BMWs too like 4series and 2 series the new Z etc and does it even work with other car make like VW, benz etc?
hi man. can I ask I have a E46 320i, can't see butterfly valve inside of the exhaust. i just want to shut it down to make it sounds better. do you know where are they? and how? plz make a video
Great find Zach! I'm having intermittent problems with '98 E36 convertible top lid not opening. Can you access the top modules etc. with the C310? Also, what's the CD for and is it Windows only?
Hi, I have a BMW Classic 3' E36 320i year 12/1997 with ABS and DSC lights on...would this connect with my car and tell me what the problem is? Which one? Thank you very much
Hey millertime, I just came across your videos and e36 build! I'm really impressed and enjoying the series. I was actually curious if I could ask you a few questions - you seem knowledgeable :D My 1992 e36 won't start. I'm not sure why - Fuel pump will only turn on if I jump the circuit. The fuel relay is not closing on its own. I have tried swapping relays, and even purchased a new DME to no avail. Any idea you might have for me? Thanks in advance, and happy tuning!
+Tyler Englestad No, unfortunately not. This scanner is really great, especially for the cost. I'm going to keep looking and reviewing for you guys until we find the BEST one we can get. :D
I have a 97 528i automatic speedo is not working already changed all 4 speed sensors and transmission speed sensor. Do u know if it's a common if so do u know the fix?
+RookieDIYer The ABS module is right above the exhaust manifold so the heat causes tons of issues. (as in your case you've already replaced the sensors) Google E39 ABS rebuild and there is a company with quick turn around. Good Luck!
Nice. Like I said, Check engine and Data Streaming is awesome, and the airbag functionality is an added bonus. This thing beats needing Windows XP and INPA (although INPA does more). Good Luck! - Zach
if it will reset the airbag codes then it is worth the $$ since the Peak SRS tool is more than $130 for airbag codes only. the INPA is PITA to get it to communicate with the ECU.. but anyways, I guess you fixed the fan on the beast after the drift day!
i bought this tool for my e46 m3 hoping i could reset my brake pad light. i go into brakes and its says failure to connect. is this because i need the 20 pin adapter?
You actually don’t need this tool for that. Make sure the pad wear sensor is in good shape. Then just two clicks forward with the key. Wait about 20 seconds and the light will turn off! That’s it!
iv tried that as well. i just did my brakes and i guess i needed to repace the sensors as well. kind of a headache at this point. i was hoping i could just erase the code.
Thanks. It would seem pin 17 needs to be present for the DME to be read. Otherwise, an ADS interface would be required.
