we have destroyed, or not preserved a lot more my friend. Albania is full of ancient cities. Its not a surprise, considering it has been inhabited for millenials. Many foreign powers who conquered Albania like Roman, serbian and ottoman empire did destroy a lot of history aswell.

We spent three nights in Gjirokaster and it was a delight. We stayed in the resort shown in the last minutes of the video. The video does not do it justice it was at that time open only for 4 months and the views are spectacular. The rooms and service are first class. It was my fourth visit to Albania and the highlight overall having seen most of the country.

Lots of undiscovered treasures! My favorite is probably the Blue Eye. Few places outside swimming pools have that deep blue color and it seems like a mirror of the sky. Girocaster is one of those mountain towns that reminds one of the pleasures of touring. If this is your first time as it was for Alina, this isn’t your typical tourist trap. The video showed why it deserves to be more widely known.

It is a pity the Ethnographic Museum was closed. That could have been a blast. Albania is super rich in ethnography. Every village has its own costume, songs and dances.

You should see these places in spring and summer when everything blooms and the areas are filled with flowers( wild flowers). Albania is still raw and original, not globalised yet. It's still " local" if you want to give a definition.

Gjirokaster is the town where my mom was born and her family was there for centuries. When I was 12, I went there and browsed that town for 2 months. Now, no one lives there but it is a beautiful town with a rich history. Unfortunately, it also has its darkest side in Albania's history which, should never be forgotten and should be told to the world. Glad you value its beauty and hope you will visit it again. Wonder if you tasted those traditional rice balls with herbs. It's their staple dish!

It is a pity the Ethnographic Museum was closed. That could have been a blast. Albania is super rich in ethnography. Every village has its own costume, songs and dances.
The Resort look beautifully build traditional style. Gjirokaster always beautiful. It’s a fantastic City.The 18th Century House is quite big a house and incredible that is still standing.

The castle and especially the Blue Eye are absolutely beautiful!! What a nice trip Alina, I honestly didn't know Albania could be so beautiful. I'm glad you're showing us this part of the world because I personally wouldn't be interested in it if it weren't for UA-camrs like you. Obviously that this only shows how ignorant I am, instead of the places themselves not being special.
You should see these places in spring and summer when everything blooms and the areas are filled with flowers( wild flowers). Albania is still raw and original, not globalised yet. It's still " local" if you want to give a definition.

Dear Alina, whu tells you that Gjirokastra and Berati are "well prizerved otoman citys"!? Gjirokastra has been founded at list 1500 years ago, means 1000 years before the otomans concerned our country.
Berat is at least 2500 years old.

Gjirokaster is the town where my mom was born and her family was there for centuries. When I was 12, I went there and browsed that town for 2 months. Now, no one lives there but it is a beautiful town with a rich history. Unfortunately, it also has its darkest side in Albania's history which, should never be forgotten and should be told to the world. Glad you value its beauty and hope you will visit it again. Wonder if you tasted those traditional rice balls with herbs. It's their staple dish!

You should visit Kruje,Gjirokaster,Berat, Sarande, Dhermi,Vlora and Durres. If you got lots of time also Tirana and Shkoder also.
