    I love these practical training method/coaching videos. I don't have a lot of friends who are into gaming/aim training so I don't have a lot of exposure to thoughts like these. I've been grinding "Unpredictable Strafes Less Hard", "Close Unpredictable Strafes" and "Close Fast Strafes Invincible - Thin" in an effort to get better at Apex fights after the gap has been closed. So any tips on tracking those types of bots would be hugely appreciated!

    • @westoncroye643
      @westoncroye643 Рік тому +7

      This might be a late reply but don’t predict the bot’s movement and track it until it changes directions. Don’t flick to the change a movement and just smoothly react back onto the target. And if you are trailing the bots movement pattern don’t be afraid to speed up a little. Smoothness is important but if you can’t track the target than what is the point of trying to be smooth.

    1:17 When I look at the centre of the fan I xan see a gap between the blades, when I focus on it its a ghosted object cos of my phone screen or the camera but its solid, wow thats a difference, I cannot believe, even in just oure perception and not actually reading your target how much difference that makes.
    1:17 Onwards is just great in general.
    Kovaaks scenarios to practice: 1) smoothness training 60 > then 2) same strafe smoothness.

    Holy shit that fan example was solid gold. I've been looking at targets for years and I never thought to just let the eye follow on its own as it would the blade of a fan. Just WOW. I genuinely can't believe I've never thought of it that way on my own. Seems so obvious in hindsight. This is a great video.

    I have played valorant for over a year. I played aimlabs, range, CSGO training maps, apex traning map, etc. for hours to get good mechanical aim. I never paid heed to tracking. My peak was gold. No matter how much I worked on gamesense, my aim would hold me back. Haven't played for like 6 months now. Now I understand what my weakness was. It was tracking. I tried aimlabs. I am decent at every task except tracking. And then I checked out my old gamplay VODs. Turns out 90/100 times, my tracking was holding me back... I have started to work on it...

    A lil oversimplified, but I get the message. If there was no weapon recoil and ungoldly amounts of vfx it'd be a lot easier. Pure reaction time matters as well for strafing target. Your scores will always be decent in aim trainers with blank canvas, the more visual objects you add the worse your scores will become as your brain starts to process that additional info. Don't believe me go in to Aimblabs, do the tasks your good at then switch the setting to outside, and your scores will definitely be lower simply because your brain has more info to deal with. Annoys me that trainers do put more effort into more visually diverse settings.

    • @cjhatesu
      @cjhatesu 2 роки тому +8

      I think you're missing the part about focusing on your target. You can't change the visual clutter but you can learn to get better at focusing on your target when fighting. The better your focus the better your read of the target - while most people will see the general direction of the target fairly easily, they may miss visual cues such as the foot/hip direction starting to change signaling that the player is about to change strafe direction. Once you start reading these cues it becomes less about pure reaction and more about being a step ahead of the other guy. But i don't know if cluttering up the aimtrainer experience would give you the results you want. Every game has different clutter and different points of anxiety that are better just experienced until you're "desensitized" from it. The more you become used to the play environment the more you can focus on your aiming techniques and thinking out your plays.

      That's also where actually playing the game instead of only playing aim trainers is important. The trainer can help you get the muscle movements down, but learning to deal with the visuals of the game is part of mastering it.

    I don’t know if this is related to focus but I am finding my big issue to overcome is when I acquire a target that is moving/strafing I find it hard to control the initial micro adjustment and find myself over compensating and fighting to get back on target.
    Admittedly tracking scenarios are one of my weak points [I average gold in the voltaic benchmarks but have a platinum high score on all]. So okayish.
    I play on a quite low sensitivity, around 50cm.
    Apart from the scenarios mentioned, which look really good, are there any other scenarios or playlists that I could concentrate on to see if I can overcome this plateau?
    BTW I have tried most of the aim trainers and I reckon that Kovaaks is still the best and really enjoy using it daily. I have definitely had my moneys worth for it.
    Merry Christmas Kovaaks.

    This only take you so far... And is where I'm already at personally and have plateaued. I only play quake champions these days but I am pretty consequently hitting 47% LG in death match and TDM against players slightly under or at my own skillrating. What I mean by that is that they have slightly worse dodging than me or about the same. I believe that maybe my pad is holding me back? I've throughout the years been using the regular Steelseries QcK while most better players use other pads these days. I'm used to it though but if I clean it, it becomes too slippery and after a few months it becomes slightly too jittery due to dirt. But it also highly depends on humidity and temperature I think. I'm used to the stopping power though.
    What improved my tracking the most was probably switching my Logitech G203 (which had horribly small and budget glides that wore down just within a couple of months), to the Razer Viper Mini.
    Also upgrading so I hit around 400 fps all the time. And second to that upgrade from 144Hz to 240Hz. But I'd say that brute forcing high framerates is more important than frequency of the screen even if 144Hz to 240Hz makes a difference.
    But what now?! How much does in fact the pad affect the tracking percentage wise? I use about 22,2 cm for a 360 turn. No accel. When it's low humidity I don't think the pad makes aim specially jittery, but maybe it could be even smoother on a better pad? Many seems to go with hybrid pads these days. Do they actually make a difference or are they better just because theyre not affected by humidity?

    • @400bcman
      @400bcman 2 роки тому

      if u want to there is a pad that is not affect by humidy is a better qck(because is consistent there is no slow down) and is the artisan zero, has a little lower initial friction compare to the qck u should watch some video review but is more expensive around 80 € with the delivery

    • @cjhatesu
      @cjhatesu 2 роки тому +1

      This definitely is more of a technique than hardware issue. But as the video mentions play those Same Strafe Smoothness routines and focus on when you start to feel shaky. You might need to loosen up your grip or button presses - tensing up makes small movements harder to make and pressing down on your mouse can add a lot of extra friction. But also the idea of focusing vs looking at your target can also cause this, if your eyes are jumping back and forth between the crosshair and target for say, then you aren't visually tracking as smoothly as you could be which causes breakdown in the eye hand coordination system. It could also be an issue with being at too high of a sensitivity and simply lowering it could help smooth out your movement. Or maybe it comes down to how effectively you're using your fingers and arm to aim - my recent revelation was that I wasn't using my fingers enough to assist with more precise tracking. I use my thumb to push the mouse right and I use my ringfinger and pinky to push it left or to add some resistance against the thumb if I need to slow down my track, then I use my pointer and middle to drag the mouse down. Not only does this make the friction of your arm nonexistent, but your fingers are much lighter weight than your arm so you can make quick movements without overshooting since you have less momentum to stop. Anyway there's a ton that you can optimize in yourself before the hardware so hopefully I gave you some ideas moving forward on your training.
      I'm a Model D Wireless user myself and absolutely love it, but if you're interested in some cheaper light weight mice with different shapes, then check out the coolermaster mice. The mm711 felt like a shorter but slightly taller Model O which I liked quite a bit more. They also have the mm720 which has this thumb bump that makes it quite a bit wider but still keeps the shorter length which is nice if you find more traditional widths of mice to be too thin.

    The strafing one doesn't help at all. You have no idea which way they will strafe. They can go left right left right righ left right left left. That pattern wont help.

    I really miss Control Game mode, why can't it be perma and remove that dumb Arena game mode that 1% of the player based plays.
